**AND ANY & ALL "NEWBIES" THAT WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US!
**This past week has gone well... Started off with a pretty awesome, Long Holiday weekend. Had an amazing time, got out & about & enjoyed alot of things around town. And got alot of things done. Did alot of shopping, even attended & went to a few festivals, & had a few "treats". Still managed to get in All my activity and included a Rest Day which I don't typically do. And managed to teach 1 of my 2 Zumba classes this week (due to the holiday). Water was decent & Sleep was totally off track this week with the long holiday. But... next week will be better.
**The weather is SOOOO nice out. So mild, with a beautiful breeze and sunny. NO more humidity. Still sad that summer is in its last days, but Fall is my 2nd favorite season. (My Pumpkin Spice candle is burning already at this time as I type).. lol... Managed to get out and get many walks in this week alone & with my Fur-baby who also keeps me active!
**No major plans this weekend, but.... intentions are to get in a few mile walk Or.. a group fitness Zumba class to get the day started......Also I just recently found out we have a "Trader Joes" not very far away... and was able to find some amazing & healthy stuff last weekend on a brief visit there. So, intentions are to go back to get "More" this weekend on Saturday. The time it takes to get there will be a really lovely & scenic weekend drive~
ENJOY THE WEEKEND AHEAD~
@PoliteOcean

@HopieRemi

** Hey Everyone~ How has the First Week of September gone for you?! ...How did you spend your Long Holiday Weekend?!
This first week of lovely September has been good so far : been enjoying the cool weather, had a pumpkin spice latte ( i love all things pumpkin), bought some Halloween decoration, drank some spiced apple cider, cut down on smoking ( need to quit), made plans with my friends to come visit in October.
** What are some goals from last month that you weren't able to tackle or meet for yourself that would you like to Achieve and Acccomplish this month? In what ways can you work on that? How can we help you?
I still have goals to attain this month - quit smoking, plan out dates and time for visit, start taking steps on my disability and continue to eat healthy ( I am doing great with this).
** What things were you MOST Grateful for this past week? What things were you Most grateful for this week here at 7cups?!
Greatful I was able to help out a friend financially this week , getting my oil change, having a great time with my family ( its normally very strained but i have done a lot of work on boundaries). On cups - i am greatful that I can talk about where I am at emotionally and just reach out and vent.
**How many of you are or have been taking part in Our "BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT" Collaboration?! What events have you taken part in so far? ...For more information on our Event, check out our Masterpost HERE
wont be doing the school event - im not in school anymore.
** What have been your "Highlights or Challenges" this past week?
lol, answered that in the first question :p
** What would "YOU" like to talk about, Add, or share with us about your Week?! WE want to hear from you!
Just adding I hope that everyone has a great week!!!
@blissedNblessed
Hey there Bliss!! Its so great to see you stop by this week!
Its great that your first week of September has gone good for you so far. And that you too are enjoying the cooler weather and Love all things Pumpkin! (We have those things in common for sure). Sounds like you are certainly all ready for the Fall season ahead with your Latte, decorations, & Apple Cider. (I must admit that I have never tried that myself) Maybe one day I will get the chance to.
And how awesome for you that not only have you made some October plans with your friends, but that you are making some healthy choices for yourself and cut down on smoking! And that you are working towards attaining goals for yourself in the month ahead. Sounds like alot of healthy things there for both your physical health, as well as your mental health too!....Great job there, keep up the great work!
How lovely that you were able to help out a friend in a financial way this week. I'm sure they were so very grateful to have you be there for them!
And how great that you are staying busy and getting things done & setting boundaries where needed! Setting boundaries when needed is so important!
Bliss its been so great to see you this week. Its so funny that I had actually thought of you recently (as I was thinking on some older memebers & listeners). And here you are! Its been really great to have you stop by and simply share with us this week. And letting us know how you've been doing, and how things have been going for you. We hope to see you again and that you continue to keep us updated on how you are doing and how things are going with your goals! Thanks for checking in!
@PoliteOcean
PoliteOcean! Thank you so much for replying!
It IS so wonderful to have a chance to talk again with older member on here...yay!
I have not been on cups in so so long, i decided to just check in and say hi...but you know how cups gets - checking in again once - so easy to just end up staying, lol!
It is very different now though because , well, you knowm older memebrs leave or come back sporatically - so i dont get a chance to talk to old buddies on here much.
but yeah, thank you for cheering me in with getting healthier, both phycially and emotionally. I am really proud at how much i have accomplished and how much better i feel!
hey, how are you? how have you been - what have you been u to?
@blissedNblessed
Aww.. well we are so glad that you stopped by!. I miss the Old "Feed" section. Where you used to post alot there (insightful things, poems etc...)... So I know what you mean in just missing what was familiar to you. And missing those older listeners/members that you felt connected with.
And aw... you are so welcome! It sounds like you are doing so much better. And getting healthier in your over-all wellbeing. That is really great to hear for you! And you should be proud! Because that can take a lot of time and work sometimes. So Keep up the great work that you are doing with that. And we are glad you are feel better.
I'm doing well. Same old/same old. Still here at Cups! lol.. Just trying to continue to help and support others. And thank you so much for asking!..Thats really sweet of you.
Wishing you a Blessed week ahead! Hope to see you around more!
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. Monday Deysi canceled on me because she didn't feel like working because it was a holiday. Tuesday I went grocery shopping and for a walk. Wednesday Deysi canceled on me because her son broke his leg. She's been canceling a lot lately. Two weeks ago she canceled on me because her tooth was bothering her, and she was already planning to take this Thursday and Friday off anyways. I only got out of the house once this past week. Thursday I had an appointment with my social worker to get approved for my government benefits. I'm glad we finally connected after two cancellations.
Friday I had an appointment with my psychiatrist. They are going to put me on a different medication for my depression.
My psychiatrist wants me to go for a five minute walk every day. Yeah, that's not going to happen. I live in a real unaesthetic neighborhood.
My new temporary roommate hasn't moved in yet, but I'm expecting a permanent roommate sometime soon. I've been cocooning alot lately. Didn't read any poetry this past week. I've been consistent with my physical therapy exercises. For this upcoming week, I have grocery shopping on Monday, acupuncture on Wednesday and physical therapy on Friday. Hosted the sharing circle almost every day.
For my devotional I'm studying the book of Nehemiah.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo.... Thats too bad that Deysi canceled on you. Hopefully she gave you proper notice, and wow thats too bad about her son too. Hopefully the cancelations will not continue. Although I imagine it might for a bit with everything going on with her son?! Not sure how old he is though?.... Awesome Tuesday time for you and how great that you were able to get that walk in as well as your groceries!...Sorry that you only were able to get out the one time this week, hopefully the week ahead will be different for you. Thats great that you were able to touch base with your social worker to get your benefits taken care of. And that you were able to get your meds situated to help you better! Thats really important. I think your psychiatrist has a good point in being able to get out of the house for at least 5 minutes each day. That is usually what they recommend and prescribe to help with aiding better health. And Getting Sunlight/Vit D. etc.. I can understand it might not be very motivating if you feel you don't live in the best area to do that. However, perhaps finding something to distract you while you walk? If you listen to just 2 songs and walk up and down the street, that would be your 5 minutes. Or, you can listen to a quick podcast, or an enjoyable app with sounds that you like for that amount of time. Incorporating a few things to switch it up, and take your mind off the fact that your neighborhood might not be appealing to you, could help with that! 5 minutes will be done before you know it..... Its great that you are being consistent with your PT exercises, keeping up with your appointments, getting out and about when needed, hosting the sharing circle, and continuing to keep up with your studies. Its good that you are doing things that give you a focus & keeping yourself busy. Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing, and thank you for sharing this week and letting us know how you'be been doing.
Hello! For me, the first week of September was great! This weekend, I went on a lot of walks with my parents around the neighborhood and we did a lot of cooking together! I also started online school this past week, and it was great so far!
I would definitely like to improve my self-esteem and my general positivity outlook. Some ways I'm thinking of accomplishing these goals are by connecting more with my family, doing some more meditation sessions, and by contributing more to 7 Cups!
This past week, I've been most grateful for my parents for supporting me through all of my difficult experiences, and never letting me down! At 7 Cups, I'm very greatful for all of the listeners in the Teen Listeners room during Listener Sharing Circles for creating such a supportive environment where listeners can share any difficult chats or any other challenges they faced lately!
I have been participating actively in the "Back to School Event" week. Some of the discussions that I've participated in included Sleep & Food Trivia and the "Motivation and Drive" Open-Ended Discussion. I've also replied to three forums, which include these topics: " Tips to eat healthy on low budget for student", " Peer Pressure", and an explanation of ADHD.
One big challenge this past week was adjusting to online school. Previous, I've been going to a public school in-person, but due to the pandemic, I had to transfer to an online school. It was a big adjustment, and it presented some challenges with my mental health. However, I am perserving and I know I will be comfortable in this new school setting.
@Nerdtastic01
Hey there!... Thats so great that your first week of September was a good one for you! I think its really awesome that you are spending time with your parents and getting in lots of walks (which in turn helps aid in bonding time, family time, and promotes overall health and wellness!). And how lovely that you are doing cooking together as well. What did you make good?!
How great for you to start online school this week. We are so glad to hear that its going so well for you so far! What did you like about it the most?!
I think its really good that you are looking forwards to improving your self-esteem and wanting to create an overall positive outlook for yourself! Those are amazing things to work towards! And that you are taking the steps to make that happen for yourself to get there!
I think its really amazing the wonderful relationship that you have with your parents! And that you are feeling so grateful for them. As I'm sure they feel just as grateful to have you in "their" lives as well! ..... And we are so glad as well to be able to support you "here" at 7cups! And that you are finding the sharing circles to be helpful to you too! We are happy to hear that.
We want to thank you for participating in our Back to School Event! We are so glad to hear that you participated and enjoyed the discussions and trivias. And that you are taking part in the forum events as well!...
We are sorry to hear that you have been having a challenging time adjusting to things with online school this week. I'm sure that has been a big change from being in person. Especially in a public school. I know and have heard of the many challenges that the students have faced during this time. And my heart goes out to you all that are having a difficult or challenging time with things. But despite those challenges, we are so glad to hear that you are perservering through it and that you are having positive vibes about your new school setting!.... Just remember that we are here for you! To support you in any way that we can!..And glad to hear that you have such wonderful parents to support you too!
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you have been doing and how things are going for you this past week! Please continue to keep us up to date on how you are doing with things!
I did have a good first week of September! It was my birthday, and unfortunately on the date, I found out I'm allergic to liquid fog after attending a dinner theater! My throat started closing up and I had to be rushed out for emergency antihistamines, so that was certainly eventful, lol!
** What are some goals from last month that you weren't able to tackle or meet for yourself that would you like to Achieve and Acccomplish this month? In what ways can you work on that? How can we help you?
I didn't get to exercise outside at all! I was traveling a lot and eating poorly and I didn't even stretch in the mornings; I'd like to exercise outside more and get some stretching in!! I bought rollerskates and have yet to use them! Ah!
** What things were you MOST Grateful for this past week? What things were you Most grateful for this week here at 7cups?!
I was so very grateful to my friends. Being able to see them helped my health immensely. I also had a Listener I spoke with a majority of the weekend who helped me through a rough depressive episode!
** What have been your "Highlights or Challenges" this past week?
Highlights: Better food choices, leaving the house
Challenges: Motivation to take care of myself
@betterchoices
Hey there! We are so glad to hear that you had a good first week of the month!... And want to also wish you a Happy Belated Birthday!... So sorry to hear that you have an allergy and your situation. And that you had to spend your birthday like that!... We are so glad to see that you are doing better!! And that you are now healthy and well again!
Its ok that you weren't able to exercise like you desired. We have to give ourselves some forgiveness and grace when we can't. And its good that you acknowledge what you feel didn't happen in terms of workouts, and feeling that you ate poorly. All we need to do is focus on our next step. Our next meal, our next activity.... One step at a time! Its great that we don't have to be "perfect"!.... We can remind ourselves to just simply do better with our next choice! And it looks like you did by buying yourself some rollerskates! How fun!!! Here is a goal for you!..... Make an appointment with yourself to use them ... Just once!... For at least 10 minutes! And on your next check in, you come in and let us know how it went!
And how awesome that you were able to get to see your friends and spend time with them. .... Just being able to get out and about with others and socialize can greatly improve our wellbeing for sure!
And we are so glad to hear that you were able to find a listener here that was able to help you during a time that you needed it and that you were able to benefit from that discussion.
Despite the challenges you felt this past week, we are glad to hear that you highlights were better food choices and leaving your home. Its great when we are able to just make those small simple steps towards our health. And every step counts! Keep up the great work!
And thank you so much for checking in this week to let us know how you've been doing!
