🌞 I started off this past week on my Last Summer Vacation as I celebrated a special occasion. I had a really nice time, it was nice to get way and un-plug from things a bit. I did Not however manage to stay on track with everything such as meal-planning, but that was expected. As I just wanted to enjoy my time away and not overthink things too much.
🌻 While away, I did manage to stay on Track All 5 of those Days with workouts & activity. I managed to meet my step-goals and activity goals each day that I set for myself. I got in tons of swimming and walking....And I got in Tons of water meeting my hydration goals. Upon return I immediately got back on track with my group fitness classes to finish out the week..... I've had some concerns about some of the classes I attend, as there are some that have had jeopardized attendance.... As well, there are some where the instructor is leaving, so those classes will be replaced with something else. I'm trying to do my best to stay on track and plan each day since I have been out of the Instructor-mode myself the past year. I firmly believe that we are motivated by the things that we enjoy. And I'm hoping until my time comes to Instruct again myself, that I can keep up with a schedule of classes that meets my Fitness needs (and desires). With this being a new month, and a new quarter (the last quarter of the year), changes are already in progress with so many things.
🌾 Today and over the course of Saturday, I will be playing "catch-up" with household chores. The weather here has cooled-down a bit over the past few days since I've been home, (and even though we will be getting another heated warm-up again in the week ahead), the end of this past week gave me some 'Fall Vibes'..... So I want to start this last quarter of the year (and a new season ahead) with a clean slate and in a good 'Mental Vibe" for myself. So I've been working on a "Deep-Cleaning" of my home (such as shampooing, changing out décor, and various other things) to help achieve that. I feel the better & cleaner my surroundings and environment are, that the better my mindset will be, & the better I will be and feel in putting my best foot forwards in all I do in this new month ahead~
@PoliteOcean
I want to commend you maintaining your workouts and activity, as well as your hydration goals, while on vacation. It is a very hard thing to do and you should be proud of yourself for doing that. As far as eating and meal-planning, vacations are for enjoying yourself. Eat what you want and don't feel bad about that. I'm glad you were able to jump back into your group fitness also. I think its great that you instruct. Using a talent to help others get, and maintain fitness is an awesome thing. You are helping people and their quality of life. It sounds like you are in a good groove where your health and fitness habits are concerned and I hope that holds out for you.
Starting the new season with a clean slate and good mental vibe sounds like a good idea. I may steal this idea and set some new goals for me for this month.
@PoliteOcean,
Hi, Ocean, I'm glad you had a good time celebrating your anniversary. Do you two exchange presents or no?
You must be in great shape. You're such an inspiration with all the exercising you do.
🌞 Hey Everyone, Welcome to September~ How has the past week been for you? The past week has been grueling. I started my new job, attended classes, and attended my appt with the office of disability services at school. I somehow kept up with it all and kept my energy level up until today. lol My brain just checked out. Luckily I worked a short early day and an off tomorrow and Monday.
🌾 What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~
@purpleTree4652
I'm sorry you had a grueling week. Sometimes checking out is what we need to do. Going back to school is quite tough. It is something I don't think I would ever do, out of fear, mostly. I commend you for doing it. Especially when you have "life" outside of school to deal with. When you say "learning how to be a graduate student and study well." , I think of myself trying to do that and how hard I think it really must be. I am sending good vibes and rooting for you. I'm hopeful that you will find good balance and healthy coping mechanisms, graduate and move on to where you want and need to be.
@CyclingThroughLife
Thanks, Life. I really don't know. I woke up this morning and am so stiff and sometimes in a little discomfort from just one week of shelving books on the bottom shelves. It's hard for me to get down that low anymore. But I need health insurance which I don't have. This route of going to school will hopefully get me a job that will provide health insurance. I have hard thinking to do.
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~ Thank you so much :) (And yes, we do exchange, although its usually in the form of giftcards)! lol... My family is huge on giftcards. That way you always have what you need or want.
As far as being in shape, its really something that I've had to strive for my entire adult life. Its not easy by any means. (At least for me)... And the older we get, we have to strive even moreso. But, I do what I can. And being an instructor, it helps me. As I try to do my best to help others along the way.
So sorry to hear that you had a grueling week. But I think its so great that you are finally into the swing of things with your new job! And that you were able to get things started with the office of disability. And its amazing that were able to keep moving through it all during your week. And you deserve to rest-up after your week! So its great that you will have that time off to do so! Enjoy it!
Everyone looks at things (and life differently)... And I'm sorry to hear that you feel your life isn't as enjoyable as you desire. Life can surely be challenging for each one of us in different ways. And I guess we can't fully know what another person is experiencing (unless we were able to walk a mile in their shoes)..... But, sometimes we do have to "cut-out" the toxic things from our lives that no longer serve us a purpose. (Even if it means family). We have to do what is right for us. Now I see that you have a plan for yourself and that is really awesome. Keeping your eye on the prize. (I must ask, if you don't mind sharing that is), WHERE exactly would your paradise be?!
Thats great that you are focusing on "healthy goals" that involve getting to where you wish to be (studying, graduating etc....) Its good to have a focus and a plan for yourself that keeps you motivated and moving forward. I think its also a great thing that you are trying to balance it all by taking some time for yourself this weekend and "taking it easy"! Thats really important too to make time for yourself. So keep up all of your great work!
@PoliteOcean
Yes, itʻs the same professor I talked about a previous time.
My paradise is Hawaii.
🌞 Hey Everyone, Welcome to September~ How has the past week been for you? The past week for me has been hectic for work things but business as usual for home things
🌻What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?......My struggles this week revolved around my new supervisor at work. He came in like a wrecking ball (now you are all singing that in your head hahaha). I could tell that the employees under us didn't know how to take it. He is changing things, but not gradually. It was immediate and I can tell they aren't happy. Me, I'm happy with the changes. My biggest struggle was, as the second in charge, being the go between for the staff and the new supervisor. How were you able to work through your challenges?! I took it one hour a time, dealt with one employee and one gripe at a time. I'm a multi-tasker and used to try to handle multiple issues at one time. Too many irons in the fire at one time so to speak. I am learning this causes way too much stress to me. Handle one persons issues and one problem at a time.
🌾 What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~I have nothing else to add at this time. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey there Cycling, Sorry to hear that your week was so hectic with work. Thank goodness for some balance on the homefront for you!.....And ahh.... yes, Soccer season! You did mention that last week. I think its so awesome that you are such an involved parent and love supporting your child and the school sports program. I'm sure it will be a great season.
Ahh.. Keto~ There really are some amazing recipes out there for Keto! I have never really formally dabbled with Keto myself (I'm too much of a carb person, which is my problem lol)... But I am apart of a few groups (for recipes myself), and I think it is so awesome that you are supporting her efforts! And to be honest, someone else's success to keep up with a healthier lifestyle can really rely on having that accountability and someone who supports what they are doing. I think you might surprise yourself in your own efforts while support her! And I am looking forwards to hearing about how these efforts are going for you "Both"! So please keep us up to date!... (and feel free to share any favorite recipes).
Oh wow Kayaking, that sounds like so much fun. I love being on, or anywhere near the water. I'm sure you are going to have a great time. Good for you for making this a regular self care routine for yourself! Enjoy and keep up the great work!
@nordurnStar
Hey there Star! So great to hear from you this week.
Despite your busy week, its so great that you learned to pay attention to doing what was needed. And that you kept your priorities in check as you moved through it all. And congrats to you on getting your work done, and for being able to keep up with your workouts and healthy diet in the midst of all the busyness of the week! Great job to you!
@PoliteOcean
I am reading Český snář, which is by Ludvík Vaculík! I am googling to try to find a translation and I think in English it is called The Dreambook, or something like that.
And for soups, I love squashes. Especially when they are fully blended.
@PoliteOcean My AT&T wifi went down a week ago. When the house wifi went down 5 weeks ago I assumed Leslie was going to fix it. I signed up for Xfinity wifi pass for 30 days. Unfortunately it expired and I have to go to a Xfinity public wifi hotspot to renew my pass. Since I don't have a caretaker, I have no way of getting to a public hotspot. My agency sent me a list of potential caretakers by email, but I can't load my email onto my Obama phone. Another way Leslie has screwed up my life. Monday I called my agency and asked them to send me a list by regular post but I haven't received it yet. Regarding other issues - I don't think my collagen peptides is helping me lose weight. My Obama phone has a very hard time logging onto 7 cups, so I don't know when I'll be able to log on again.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~ That's difficult to be without something that we may need or rely on. Internet can help in so many positive ways (from ordering groceries, to helping with our overall health and wellbeing, etc...etc..) especially for someone who has disabilities or other special needs. So its understandable that it must be an upsetting and challenging time for you to have to deal with this issue. I admit I was wondering why I didn't see a check-in from you last week. So I figured that maybe something might be wrong there. Hopefully you are able to get this situation sorted out for yourself (especially if Leslie isn't going to step up to the plate to get things taken care of for those in the household). And even more hopefully for you, you will soon hear something and have the opportunity to have another caretaker to help you with your needs and being able to get out and about again. Hopefully this all happens and comes together for you sooner rather than later. Its great that you were able to come on today and share your week with us despite all the upheaval of the past week with your internet. And hopefully you will be able to check back soon and continue to keep us up to date on how things are going.
@PoliteOcean Thanks for your support. I'm still waiting for my agency to send me a list of potential caretakers in the mail. I could take a taxi to the library and renew my wifi but since I have PTSD and anxiety I find it nerve wracking.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo, I totally understand. PTSD and Anxiety on top of it all can be a challenge. Nobody really knows how distressing it can be unless they’ve dealt with it themselves. So I can certainly understand how just simple things such as simply taking a Taxi (or Uber etc..etc…), isn’t as easy for some as it might be for others... I hope that you hear back from your agency soon! Please continue to keep us up to date on things.
@PoliteOcean I'm going to have to give updates as they occur rather than one weekly update because I never know when my Obama phone can log into 7 cups. Wednesday I finally got a hard copy of a list of potential caretakers from my agency. I called all 8 of them and some one said they were coming over on Thursday afternoon for an interview but they cancelled. I called my agency today and they are going to send me a new hard copy of potential caretakers. I'm very anxious to get back on the internet again. My credit card company dismissed all late charges and annual fees so I'm extremely happy about that. I'm trying to get my credit score up so I can move into my own apartment next year.
