🌤️This past week was well & again went by seemingly quick~... Last weekend I left for Vacation to the Beach~... It was a great time away to relax a bit & unwind from the day to day norm...~ And the weather was absolutely amazing. It's so important to recharge & refresh however often we can or is needed...~
🌊 While I was away I spent the past week unplugging from all the usual routines... (So the usual work, workouts/activities/classes & such were not on my agenda)... However I did manage to do ALOT of Walking while on the beach, as well while doing plenty of Sight-seeing!.. And I also got in some Pool-time & pool-workouts... I was also able to keep up with my Hydration goals & even managed to get plenty of great rest & meeting my sleep goals... I don't know why or how, but I always manage to get much better sleep when I'm away & traveling?!~
🏝️ Throughout this weekend ahead, intentions are to get back into my regular routines.. By first starting the day with a Saturday morning Zumba class & some pool-time after.. Then head out & tackle a few errands & enjoy the remainder of the day...~ Sunday, more early Zumba, tackle a household project, & hopefully a little more pool-time in the afternoon...~ Then to prepare for the upcoming & busy week ahead, as I jump back into my all of my regular work, routines, intentions & August goals, As well as several appointments.~
ENJOY THE WEEKEND~
@PoliteOcean Going back a week ago to last Saturday I annointed myself with Frankinscence again. I can't pray anymore or call in prayer requests because there is always someone around. I'm reading my commentary on Jeremiah and it's really good. Leslie's adult niece Ileana moved out of the area and never said goodbye. It's very hurtful and disappointing. She really liked me a lot. Monday I went to my alternative medicine practitioner and it went really well. I tried a new trail and I finally found one that worked out. Tuesday I went to the library and also for a walk. Gianna had the day off for Wednesday and Thursday because she had a procedure done. Thursday it took me 15 minutes to order lunch by delivery because my browser kept crashing. I really hate that. It's harsh on my eyes to use the Smart phone that way. I take 4 different supplements for my eyes. Thursday night my shoulders were absolutely killing me. I bought some supplements for them but they won't get here until Saturday. Friday I went to the library and also for a walk. I started to read my poetry book by William Wordsworth. It's very good. I'm also reading my philosophy book on Byzantine and Renaissance philosophy. It's very good. For this upcoming week I have an in-person therapy appointment for 30 minutes. Over the past two weeks I sent a hand written letter to two people who posted an advertisement for a pen pal. I hope I hear back from them soon. MCR has been really dead the past few weeks. 7 cups has a really high turnover rate.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo, good job at working around your spiritual health where needed, & also keeping up with your commentary… That’s too bad that you didn’t get a “goodbye” from someone you felt a connection with. That can certainly be & feel difficult to navigate & process those feelings sometimes. And It can surely be hurtful & disappointing when it happens… That’s good for you that your appt went well for you though. And also great that you found a new trail, as well as getting out to the library & for your walk. It’s great that Gianna is still working well for you despite having a few days off for her procedure… I really hate when my browser keeps crashing as well! (Surprisingly it always seems to happen when I’m trying to post the Check-in each week)~ Hopefully you find that your supplements are working for your eyes.. Are they something that were prescribed, or that you chose on your own? … Good job at continuing in your literary interests, studies & hobbies. And Hopefully you also hear back about the pen-pals... As far as 7cups, the group support chatrooms, & those in it, each room is certainly different & can definitely “ebb & flow” depending on the time of year. Hopefully you find that it will eventually pick back up again. Thanks for checking in to share your week. Sounds like for the most part things are going well despite a few matters. Continue to let us know how things are going & moving along.~
@PoliteOcean It´s been an intense week for me. I've recently started a new work project, and I have deadlines to meet. But I am not complaining, I am full of joy and gratitude ✨ just that I feel the need to pause, breathe more and relax a bit more ☺️
@elekhika
Hey there!~
So sorry to hear that you had such an “intense” week. Those can be challenging for sure. Having new projects (& especially deadlines to meet), can certainly be stressing! …
But it’s awesome that you continue hold Joy & gratitude within despite those stressors! And yes we definitely need to take time for ourselves (to simply breathe, relax, pause, & take those breaks for ourselves when needed)!.. That’s definitely a must for our overall wellbeing.
Great job to you on knowing that, & knowing what you need to do to feel good! We continue to wish you well on that (& in meeting those deadlines) 🙂.
Thank you for sharing with us this week. And please keep us updated on how things are going for you. Always great to hear from you.
@PoliteOcean Thanks for your lovely message!☺️
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
How was your week? It's ok, but I had a run in with a new neighbor. She is blaming me for making a lot of noise. I think she's nuts because I am quiet. I complained about her, and that is probably what caused her to confront me. She is scary so I am glad that I was on my second floor patio and she was down on the sidewalk.
Besides that I am getting would up because I start school on the 20th. I don't like school, although I expect this semester to be moderately difficult.
🌊 This is our "3rd" Check-in for the month~..... Last week we discussed how August was also "Wellness Month"!... In WHAT Ways (Physically, Mentally & Emotionally) were you able to place focus on yourself, your well-being, & prioritize yourself this past week?! I hurt my knee somehow in the past week or so. It's feeling much better. I've been careful not to twist it. I've also been using a massager on it which seemed to help a lot.
🏝️ Sometimes we can find these "Lazy Summer days" to be "just that"~.... What's something that's been Motivating for you &/or helping you to stay the course in continuing to work on your personal goals this season?! I have set a goal for starting to work out this sunday, tomorrow. I'll keep it light on my knee.
🌤️ JUST FOR FUN: Continuing in the spirit of Summertime, we are still road-tripping!... If you had to buy or rent a vehicle that began with the "FIRST" letter of your 7cups name, WHAT would it be? (I'll start.... a Porsche)~ You took mine. I used to own a PT Cruiser, so I'll say that.
🌊 What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?! I worked through the new neighbor blaming me but it wasn't in a healthy way. I've been afraid to make a peep after 9pm.
@purpleTree4652
Hey Tree~ It sounds like you had quite a week with your neighbor. I imagine you wouldn’t make much noise at all with just you & Chloe! So I also imagine that she must be an ordeal to deal with?!… Sounds like you definitely need to keep your distance from that one.
Looks like school is coming up quickly for you again. But this is also your last bit of it if I remember correctly? So while it’s coming fast, so is your time to be done with everything altogether! And being able to move forward with a new path & journey for yourself.
That’s good for you that the trouble you were having with your knee at last check-in is starting to feel better for you. And that the measures you’ve taken for it appear to be helping. Keep doing what you’re doing when it’s working for you!
I think it’s awesome that you have made & set a workout goal for yourself! Is it a specific goal?… Yes definitely be careful with your knee. And keep up the great work! Cant wait to hear how it went for you.
PT cruisers, I remember those. Quite popular there for awhile.
Hopefully your situation with the new neighbor doesn’t progress any further beyond what’s already happened. Since you said “new” neighbor, that makes me believe that “you” were there first?! .. So Interesting that “she” is already complaining about you? Typically new neighbors either try to play nicely with others or avoid them altogether depending on their personalities…. Do you have any idea what might have started her behavior towards you? Again I know it’s just you & Chloe, and you’ve been home from school relaxing. And I know you like to keep things simple around your Apartment. So I definitely can’t imagine you creating a noise level that would cause that kind of friction with her. Sounds like she’s really reaching for trouble. Be careful with that one for sure! And good luck. Hopefully things will simmer down now that you are going back to school soon. Definitely keep us posted on that situation!
And thank you for checking in to share your week with us. Please continue to let us know things are going.
@PoliteOcean
You said exactly what I thought. She is looking for trouble. So, I started doing the funniest thing. I am keeping a list of all the noises I make after 9pm every day. It isn't anything that should provoke a response. Like...popping popcorn, using the toilet, lol. I'll let you know how it goes.
@PoliteOcean
My week was mainly pretty good, ran into an old acquaintance at work that I had sent seen in over a year, she mainly works out of another building. She was genuinely surprised to see me and things she said, made me feel seen ☺️
I managed to squeeze in a great 5 mile walk yesterday and at a great pace in just under 1h 20m.
Motivation: that's a thought one, this heat wave is really putting a damper on things .
Vehicle: Beaumont 😬 Canadian only Pontiac only made between 1964 - 1969
Highlight: was meeting up with an old friend. Work it self has been a struggle, I work with teams in another province and a lot of times they do things that really make me question why I even bother? Myself and my team do not exist to these people and it really irks me to no end. I know I am retiring at the end of this year but these days just want to walk out the door.
@braindamag3
Hey there~ That’s great for you that your week was mainly good. How lovely that you also ran into a past acquaintance that you haven’t seen in awhile. Those are usually very nice surprises when that happens..~ And even better when the experience makes you feel good overall.
That is awesome that you were able to squeeze in such an amazing walk! 5 miles is wonderful! Especially in these warm summer months. Keep up the great work! 💪🏼👟🚶♀️
Ahhh… I see you like the “classic” vehicles as well! (I do too)! … Nice!
Despite your struggles of the week at work, it’s great that you were able to make it through and was able to find the highlight in running into an old friend... I think it’s even more wonderful that you don’t have much longer until your retirement! Wow, How amazing for you! It won’t be much longer now until you can leave the craziness of your work environment behind you! And be able to look forward to your new life ahead beyond that. Do you have any retirement plans, goals or intentions for yourself once you get there?!… Counting down the days, keep your eye on the prize! It won’t be long now!
Thank you for sharing with us this week! And please continue to keep us updated on how things are going & moving along for you.
@PoliteOcean
I have a project car that I have been chipping away at for the past 17 years. Hopefully I can get it on the road just after retiring so I can enjoy it.
Of course I am counting down my work days, 91 left to go 😁 and the time will be here before I know it .
My wife has it all worked out for me 😊 I am fairly handy and she has a bunch of old lady friends that need work done, and one already has about a months work for me.
@braindamag3
Wow! 17 years!.. That sounds like quite the project! What kind of car is it? Is it the one you mentioned above or something different? Good for you either way. I’m sure you’ve enjoyed the “tinkering” along the way, and sounds like it’ll be just the right time to get it completed to enjoy once you retire! (A gift to yourself)! 😉
It also sounds like your wife has it all planned out for you as well?! 😂 Wives are like that 😉… But, it will definitely keep you busy from becoming “too overly bored” once you have that extra time on your hands. Which can surely happen with some people. Again, either way, enjoy! As it won’t be long now! 🙂
