🌤️ This past week was rather both a crazy & busy one for me...  Last Saturday, I got in an early morning Zumba class to start the day, & then spent the rest of the day with a "Self-care Saturday"... Which Included No errands, some Pool-time & relaxation, cuddles with the Pup, & good movies in the evening.... Sunday, I did a little bit more of the same things before starting off the week~

🌊 As the week started off, the last week of July got a little hectic & a tad stressful.... As some unforeseen situations arose at the start of the week that had to be taken care of & fixed in My home, some Fitness classes were also cancelled that started the week off so I had to navigate that, & there were also Lots of personal errands throughout the week that kept me both running around alot & very busy (including some Birthday errands as well for TWO upcoming family members)... My sleep started off very well, then took a little plummet with everything going on... However, I managed in keeping up with all of my other usuals of (Work, Fitness classes, & even my Hydration goals were pretty on point)!... And there was also plenty of early morning outdoor time & walks with the Furbaby, despite the continuing Heat & humidity... We are supposed to have a "Minor cool-down" here throughout the entire next week (which is surprising since its August).... But, I'm sure it will be a somewhat welcomed change for a bit from the humidity~.... I also did not however meet my goals that I had set for myself for the Month of July... so that was a little disappointing~

🏝️ As I move into the weekend ahead, I'm so glad to see this week come to a close... But I will have a somewhat busy day for Saturday... As we will be having a Small family Birthday gathering to celebrate Two family members on Saturday afternoon....  So I will not be attending my usual morning Zumba class. However, instead I will intend to either work-out at home, Or do some outdoor Walking to start the day off & to save some time.... I'm looking forward to coming together with family & good food to start off the Month & the weekend ahead itself.... As well looking forward to continuing on in my Personal August goals ahead, (& hopefully meeting those this month).~

ENJOY THE WEEKEND~

@PoliteOcean This past Monday I went to the chiropractor. It went well. I tried going to a new lake that I haven't been to in a long time but parking cost $5 and street parking was full. Don't these people have jobs? It was very disappointing. Leslie was 45 minutes late with dinner. I really hate that. It takes me two hours to recover. Tuesday I went to the library and read my Russian poetry book. I went to the Amazon return desk at Kohl's and returned 5 books. I really hate that. I went for a nice walk by the marina. Wednesday I went to the library and then tried to go to a new place to walk but that didn't work out either. Thursday I gave Gianna the day off.  Early Thursday morning I had to wait an hour for CJ to get out of the bathroom because I needed to use the toilet. I really hate that. Friday I cancelled my therapy appointment because there was no place at the house I could talk freely. I re-scheduled for an in person appointment. I tried going to a local Barnes and Noble to buy books so I don't have to return so many back to Amazon. That was a bust also. The city I went to used to be a very great place but it was severely overdeveloped and severely congested. It was very shocking and very disappointing. Politicians only care about money they don't care about people. Right now I'm reading "Medieval Philosophy". Pete Adamson is a great writer. For this upcoming week I have a massage appointment on Monday. I'm trying to re-learn cursive so my penmanship doesn't look so sloppy. I want to bring back the art of letter writing. I still haven't received the documents I requested from my agency from 3 weeks ago. People around here don't give me my mail. They put it on the extremely messy desk and I have to just find it somewhere in the mess.  I'm drinking coconut water instead of smoothies most of the time. My skin is so dry. I drink about 5 cups of coffee per day which I'm sure doesn't help. I decided to use Shea butter on my arms instead of Argan Oil.

@Regmo Smooth, cursive handwriting is so elegant ahhhh. I’d love to re-learn that as well 📜✒️

@Regmo

It’s good you were able to get out & about to the library, your appts, run errands, continue your reading hobbies, & your walks (despite a few mishaps). And it’s also good that you were able to reschedule your appointment for an in person visit, as well as trying to relearn cursive, & continuing some healthy habits for yourself along the way. Continue to keep up with the positive things. And thanks for checking in to share your week… Let us know how things are continuing to go.

Struggles of the week were that I’m continuing to struggle with finding a mentor in the field I’m trying to get a job in. I also learned that my psychiatrist has to move to another state in about a month because he’s not making enough money in the state we live in which is pretty unfortunate. I’ll still be able to see him but only virtually which is sub optimal. But he’s a great psychiatrist so I will gladly continue to see him virtually.

My biggest win this week was I finally found a dress to wear to my sister’s wedding in October, which has been stressing me out, so I feel good about that.

My first car was a 1998 champagne Ford Explorer with a big silver brush guard on the front. I loved that car. I didn’t love the brush guard, but the car itself was a good car and I was lucky to have it.

One thing I did for myself this week was I finally broke down and got my own Netflix subscription so that I could finally watch this documentary I have been desperately wanting to see. I never get excited about shows or TV so this feels fun and like self care. 🌺🌺🌺

Hey there Solace~

Sorry to hear that you are struggling with both trying to finding a mentor as well as losing one of your trusted healthcare providers… that is difficult I’m sure. However, It’s great though that you will still be able to meet with him virtually! So that is definitely a positive & a plus! Even if it’s not quite or exactly the same, I’m sure it’s still reassuring that you won’t lose him altogether completely.

That’s great that you found a dress for your sister’s wedding… As I know what a   challenge it can be in trying to find the “perfect” outfit for special occasions.

Ahhh… a Ford explorer. Those were definitely quite the popular thing back in the day! Especially in the late 90s. Seems like everyone either had one or wanted one!

Congrats on treating yourself to a Netflix subscription! And for treating yourself to some “self-care time”! Keep up the good work there & enjoy it!

Thanks for checking in to share your week with us. And please continue to keep us updated on how things are going for you.

@PoliteOcean

Things are going quite well as of late.👍

I'm on vacation going into my second week off, had the grandkids over for 4 days last week and will have them again next week for another 4 days. The youngest one know just how to test my patience 😊

Now that my soul has started to heal, I might try to get back to mindful meditation and see if I can now concentrate better.

1976 Dodge Aspen Brown given to me by an uncle when I turned 16, but I had no inclination to even get my driver's license.

Struggles were mainly dealing with a very whiny grandkid, the youngest knew how to push buttons but thankfully she did listen to PAPA ☺️😁

I have to say this past week has been so relaxing, not having work on my mind and the fact that my BF is talking to me again. I could not believe how much not talking to my BF really affected my mental health.

Hey there~

How great for you that things have been going well for you recently.

How lovely that you are on vacation & enjoying your time with your grandchildren. (And yes, kids can certainly test your patience)! Lol

How wonderful that things have started to heal for you and that you are looking at getting back to meditating. I know that can definitely be a wonderful thing for the body, mind, & overall wellbeing. Good for you and keep up the great work.

It’s great that overall you had a relaxing week. Having time off and away from work can definitely be calming & relaxing to the mind. And definitely an opportunity to work on & focus on other areas of our lives & wellbeing (such as relationships)… So it’s good that you were able to do that and feeling better about yourself & your relationship with your BF.

Continue to enjoy your vacation. And thank you for taking some time away to stop by and check in with us to share your week. And Please continue to keep us posted on how things are going for you.

🌊 This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of "AUGUST"~... As we enter this New Month (& this 8th Chapter of the year), WHAT are some things you are excited for, or looking forwards to for yourself this month ahead?!  Its the 8th chapter already?  This year seems to be flying by.  This month ahead I'm looking forward to two main things.....first, if all goes right, my girlfriend will be owner of a condo at a beach in the south.  The 5 year plan is to use it as an investment property, pay off as much as we can that way....while using it when its not rented out as we can, then selling the house and retiring to the area by the year 2030......the other thing exciting me this month.......the start of the county fair season.  If things work out correctly, we have plans to hit one the weekend of the 22nd, and two on labor day weekend.  I love county fairs.....some of my favorite events are the OX pulls, truck pulls, there is one we visit that has a rodeo.  But I really enjoy browsing the local home made crafts, jellys/jams...that kind of stuff.  I'm not much of a ride the rides or play the games type.....

🏝️ As we begin this New Month, What New wellness goals or intentions would you like to implement, put focus on, change, OR, even continue with for August?!  For my physical wellness, I'm slowly implementing my workout routine back into my life.  I've gone from zero workouts for months due to my pain issues(while I still have some bad days, I'm managing well at this time with the help of the meds) to working out 3 maybe 4 times a week depending on how I feel.....My workouts, bike rides and spins are no longer 60+ minutes, going all out in HR zones 4 and 5......they are more like 30 to 45, in HR zones 2 and 3, which is hard for me mentally but I'm slowly learning to accept that any workout is better than no workout.  One thing that I did is incorporate stand alone dedicated stretching/mobility time not associated with a cardo or weights workout....something I never did before...I think this has been helpful for my pain situation and I'd like to maintain that and possibly even add more of it.....in other areas of wellness, I'm doing more reading, working on eating healthier, which is a yo-yo struggle as always.....and trying the best I can to not let the little things bother me.......

🌤️ JUST FOR FUN: Continuing in the  Spirit of Summertime & Summer Road-trippin', WHAT was the Make, Model, & Color of your very "FIRST" vehicle?! My first car was a 1982 blue AMC Eagle....for those who don't know what that is.....

amc-egle_1754132358.jpg

This particular photo isn't my car but its the kind of car I had......

🌊 What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?! I had a good trip to see my kids and grandchildren, then stopped at a beach we have never been to on the way home.....that was a great trip overall....quiet, relaxing.....Other than my pain issues, which I'm managing pretty well, I've had some pretty good weeks as of late, in life and at work.....so much so, that I'm waiting for the ball to drop and everything to fall apart.....Nickleback has a song with a lyric that states "Well, something's gotta go wrong 'cause I'm feelin' way too damn good"  That is how I've been in my head lately.  I know its not how I should be thinking...I gotta remain positive and manifest those good vibes and try to put negative in the back of my head....but by nature, I'm a realist and always looking for the next "what can go wrong" to try to prevent it.....

As always, thanks for engaging my mind.  I hope everyone has a great weekend and upcoming week....

@CyclingThroughLife

Hey there Cycling 🚴 ~

Yes.. it’s so true.. (an 8th Chapter already hardly seems real).. Where in the world is this year going?!?!

A beach Condo definitely sounds like a wonderful investment. And the 5 year plan sounds amazing~

Goodness.. the County fairs. We have them here where I live all the time.. And I haven’t been to one of those in Years (2008 maybe)?!.. I guess it’s all the “over-crowding” for me.. But I definitely remember them being Fun when we did go. And this is a Huge time of year for them. I also love the crafts as well. (And was personally an avid rider of all things roller coasters & more)! Lol … Now that I’m older, that’s definitely changed!... So I’m now more the browsing type as well. And a good candy apple & funnel cake doesn’t hurt either! lol.. Enjoy & have a great time.

As far as your physical wellness, that’s awesome that you are able to get back into your workout routines, increase them, & incorporate something that’s working for you & that you are finding beneficial. While also being able to manage your pain along the way. As that’s so important!… And it’s also that great you are working on & enjoying other areas of wellness by incorporating healthier eating and mindful reading! And working on decreasing those stressors. That’s definitely a must. Keep up the amazing work that you are doing for yourself. You sound like you’re getting back to yourself! 👍🏼

Great first car.. I remember those~ Nice 👍🏼

Overall it sounds like things have been going very well for you. And that’s a great thing. It’s nice that you had & enjoyed family time & a trip to the beach. Always a plus to come together with loved ones.. And relaxing at the beach is icing on the cake.~

Btw.. I LOVE Nickleback.~ Their songs always have a way of hitting you in those deep personal places.~… But it’s natural & human for us to have thoughts at times about how well things are going Vs. What could happen next. I used to be like that in a major way in the past… But it’s also about finding ways to keep the faith, & having more Faith in our decisions, choices, & in the good around us in our lives… and not “overly doubting” ourselves. Learning to tell those negative thoughts to “Shut up” as soon as they turn on & try to enter!... And believe that things will inevitably be ok and fall into place.

Thank you for checking in to share with us, it was great to hear from you this week. (And so glad we were able to engage you for a bit)! Please let us know how things are continuing to move along for you and please don’t be a stranger!

Things seem to be going okay for me. My family and I just got back from Utah on Wednesday. We are all still recuperating from that vacation. Lol.

The first car I had was a Ford Thunderbird. It was bright red. I loved that car until the transmission went out. I couldn't afford to repair it.

How nice that you & your family took  time away to vacation. Sometimes we also end up “needing” a vacation “away” from our vacation!.. But it’s good that things are going okay for you otherwise~

Ford Thunderbirds were definitely nice vehicles~ I can imagine how much you must’ve loved it. 🚗

Thanks for checking in to share with us this week :)

Hi, Ocean,

Wow, you had a busy week.  Are you enjoying your pool?

How are things going today?!  Well I just woke up a bit ago, so alls well.  I went outside to enjoy some chai tea and my kitty's company, and it is weird outside.  The bugs which are usually very noisy when it's dark, were mostly quiet.  There isn't traffic and it is very dark and cloudy.  I told my kitty that I was going in because it seemed spooky out.

🌊 This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of "AUGUST"~... As we enter this New Month (& this 8th Chapter of the year), WHAT are some things you are excited for, or looking forwards to for yourself this month ahead?!  Getting a job.  I am going to switch to applying for agency part-time jobs or Dominoes-type part-time.  I'm also going to try to get to the gym for the treadmill, running and walking.

🏝️ As we begin this New Month, What New wellness goals or intentions would you like to implement, put focus on, change, OR, even continue with for August?!  Well, I stopped pilates because it was too hard on my joints.  So I am going to focus on work outs with small weights at home and running and walking on the treadmill at the gym.

🌤️ JUST FOR FUN: Continuing in the  Spirit of Summertime & Summer Road-trippin', WHAT was the Make, Model, & Color of your very "FIRST" vehicle?!  It was a silver Chrysler Newport.

🌊 What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?!  I was down on myself for sleeping a lot, and my psychiatric nurse prac was down on me too for being too much in my head.  It hit me that I am a grad student and that I am between semesters, so I am relaxing and thinking all that I want.  My next semester starts at the end of the month, so I am enjoying life and living it any way that I want right now.

Hey there Tree~ Yes it was a crazy week~ lol. I was so glad to see the weekend come... I am enjoying the pool for sure, but haven’t been in it this summer as often as past summers as I’ve been so busy.~

——-

oh wow, you sound like a very early morning riser?!.. but it sounds like you had a nice quiet morning (before getting spooked anyway)! Lol

Oh that’s awesome that you are considering going with an agency. They should be able to help you find & match you better with what you are looking for. When I lived up North, agencies were really huge, And did a great job helping. So I’m rooting for you!.. And that is so great that you are looking at trying to get to the gym. Do you have a gym at your Apt complex?! I thought you mentioned it? If so that would be so wonderful for you in not having to go too far. Makes it more convenient & manageable! Keep up the great work. I can hear the ambition behind your goals this month! 👍🏼💪🏼

As far as workouts, I think we definitely have to do what we “Enjoy” doing! Otherwise it’s just a fast-track to quitting before we even started… So good for you on stopping what wasn’t working, and switching gears to something that will motivate you!

Oh wow, a Newport.. I haven’t heard that name in a long time. Nice!

I think it’s good that you were able to figure out things and talk them out with your NP as well about how you were feeling… Hopefully you are now feeling in a better place. And good for you on enjoying & living your life on your own terms at the moment before school starts! Definitely nothing wrong with that. So enjoy yourself!

And thank you for checking in to share your week with us. It’s great to hear from you this week. And you sound like you are doing well. :) Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going.
