🌞 This past week was well and thankfully seemed to go by quickly.... As It was a busy week packed with various things and I'm ready for the Long Holiday week ahead~..... Last Saturday, I was able to get in my Zumba class early on in the morning, & then We had an unexpected Day on the Lake afterwards...~ It was a perfect weather day, sunny & gorgeous out, & a great day to be on the water. We took the furbaby, spent time for the day, & got some lunch & dinner while there... Afterwards, later in the afternoon/early evening, we were able to make it to a Local Spring Festival for a bit, & enjoyed an outdoor concert..... On Sunday, I started off the day with another Zumba class, & afterwards was able to get alot of outdoor work done around our home that we put off... I'm not a gardening pro by any means nor care to be, however, It worked "Muscles" in me that I didn't even realize existed?! 🤪..... Also the renovations on our Patio & Deck finally began. Hopefully that won't be too long of a process!

🌷 As the week started off, I got back on track with my usual work & all things Group Fitness.... And I kept on track with my continued May goals.... Hydration & Sleep were great as well. This week I was so physically tired from all the things of the week, that I actually took advantage of laying down on time right after getting into bed INSTEAD of playing on my phone for a bit beforehand. It definitely helped. And I hope I'm able to continue that more often than not.... The weather has also continued to be pretty nice here, so a good bit of time was spent outdoors with the Furbaby as well...

🍉 This weekend ahead, intentions are to first get in that early morning Zumba class to finish up the week..., and then afterwards head out on a little Road-trip north.... Then On Monday/Memorial Day, we will have a small Cookout & Grill at home, which I always look forwards to... Come mid-week, we will head to the Beach for a few days, Which is my Peaceful place & time to "Rest, Relax, Re-group & Re-charge"... So definitely looking forwards to that as well... It will surely be a bit of a challenge to stay on track with my usual & standard goals in the week ahead... But, Mental Health & Wellness will be a priority as next week will give me an opportunity to slow down & relax for a bit, as Mental Health Awareness month comes to a close.~

ENJOY THE WEEKEND~

@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. I've been doing a lot of de-stressing. I was holding a huge amount of tension in my muscles. I finally got Leslie and Sifa trained to be where I want them to be. I wish it hadn't taken six years. I feel like my time at Leslie's is coming to an end sometime this year. Monday was the first day of my new driver Gianna. She is working out great 👌.  Tuesday I went to a new massage therapist. He wasn't very good but I can't get a refund.  Wednesday I went for a walk at a new marina but it was rundown. It was disappointing.  I can tell my city spent millions of dollars building it but they let it go. 😭 Friday morning I spent 30 minutes trying to login to my carrier account so I could top off my data. This past week I finished "The Age of Innocence" by Edith Wharton. I started to read the annotated version of T.S. Eliot's "The Wasteland" .  I also started to read my first Virginia Woolf book titled "To The Lighthouse".  Friday my new room mate moved in. He is very mobile. I think Leslie and Sifa are doing a better job of screening residents before they move in. For this upcoming week I'm going to the storage facility where most of my possessions are stored after my mom died. I'm going to try to pick up some important personal items but the rest is going to have to be donated or auctioned off or thrown away.  For Thursday I have a specific massage called "AFT" for my jaw. I used to have TMJ but the past 3 years I've been popping my jaw because I'm so angry about Leslie abusing me. I'm thinking maybe I should temporarily put aside my reading for my literature discussion club and read books for my emotional healing.

@Regmo

Hey Regmo~ That’s good that you are continuing to work on de-stressing… I know how our bodies can definitely tend to hold onto the stressors within... As far as feeling your time at Leslie’s is coming to its end, that can definitely be a good thing as long as you feel it’s on your terms…. How awesome that Gianna is continuing to work out for you so far, And that you were able to get out to your massage appt & to the Marina for a walk (despite those not going as you had desired)… It sounds like you are also continuing to keep up with your reading & the things you enjoy… That would be a wonderful thing if screenings for the residents in your household were going better. Perhaps Leslie might actually feel that she has taken on too much in the past, therefore trying to do better with it so that she doesn’t have to deal with the more difficult ones going forward?!… It sounds like you will have a productive week ahead. And I think it’s a good idea that you have about reading up on books for your emotional healing. It certainly couldn’t hurt to try and see if it helps. If you decide to do that, please keep us updated on which books you found and which ones that you feel are helpful! Thanks for sharing your week with us and continue to let us know how everything is going and working out for you.

@PoliteOcean I had a busy week but a restful weekend, we celebrated my niece's communion so it was great to catch up with family and ha e good food and drinks 🥰 I wish people knew that when it comes to mental health, it's luke a blank canvas and no two things are the same. We can be happy but also sad, broken but healing, angry but strong. It's something we need to put the work into just as we do with our physical health. And if I were having a barbecue, nothing beats the Irish for sausages 💜🥰

Hey there Amanda~ That’s great that you were able to have a restful week especially after having a busy one! Sounds like you needed that extra rest?! And How lovely that you were able to come together with family & celebrate your niece’s communion! (Food & drinks definitely make it even better)! 😂👍🏼❤️

I also love your response to Mental Health Awareness, (& the Bbq question 😉)!… But I definitely agree that no two things are the same (even twins are different!) lol..  But we certainly have to put the time & care into our mental health and wellness just like we do with physical health… As It all goes together hand in hand. 😊

Thank you for sharing your responses and your week with us! Always lovely to hear from you… Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going for you.

🌞 Hey allWelcome to the Weekend~ How are things going today? ..  Do you have any plans or intentions for the Long Weekend & Memorial Day Holiday ahead?  Things are ok today....Yesterday and today are total feet up and binge watch tv days....Both days, as well this whole week, has been wet, rainy, damp, cold, dreary and just plain stinky in terms of weather....not a day above 48 degrees all week for the middle of May....its supposed to stop raining this afternoon, be halfway decent Monday and Tuesday, and start with 40 to 80 percent chance of rain on Wed thru next weekend....this weather pattern has really taken a toll on my knees, ankles and hands....lots of aches and pains....6 to 8 all week on the pain scale.... I was referred to rheumatology and they can get me in the last day of June....still a ways away but its a start....I'm hoping they can give me answers that my primary couldn't....the pain is strange....it cycles, like all things in life....some days/weeks are good...totally functional....then for days or weeks at a time, it hurts terribly....a lot of times it has to do with the weather....then there are times I have a "flair up"  of pain out of no where...when I can't place the triggering event or thing.....anyway....on to the next question....

🌷 This is our "4TH" Check-in for MAY~... We have one week left before this month ends... What goals or tasks would you like to accomplish or focus on for yourself before the month comes to a close?!  I have been feeling "off" all week....I think alot of it has to do with the rainy weather and not really being able to get anything done outside, I've been cooped up inside.....causing some cabin fever...I think I just need to get my head right and back to normal by the end of the month...

🍉 As we get ready to end the month of MAY, we will also come to the last week of "Mental Health Awareness Month"..... Is there anything that you'd like others to know or realize about Mental Health Awareness?... Its ok not to be OK.......What do you feel is the MOST important thing in Maintaining a good balance in "Your own personal" overall Mental Health & wellbeing?! Not quite sure....I will have to read others answers, take some ideas and make them my own....

🌞 JUST FOR FUNAs many of us embark on the Long Holiday weekend ahead, if you could only choose ONE FOOD item to grill for a cookout, WHAT would it be?! I love sausage.....

@CyclingThroughLife

Hey there Cycling~

Thats good that your day was well for you upon posting… And that you’ve been taking time to relax and do something you enjoy in the comforts of your home (despite the not so great weather you are having there)… It’s been ebbing & flowing here as well with rain… I try to make do with those various moments in between where it might actually be dry~ This past month has certainly been tricky with the weather situation…

As far as the aches and pains, I can certainly relate to what you are saying… And it could very well be the strange weather we are seeing for this time of year… As mine has been ebbing & flowing with that also. And I found I had to scale back with some things myself by taking it easier in what I’ve been doing… it’s good though that you are being proactive and staying on top of it by going to the rheumatologist… and hopefully for you that you will find or be given a solution… (mine cycles as well, & can hit like a ton of bricks out of the blue stopping me in my tracks.... I call mine a “case of the olds”.. lol), but there are various options….~

Ugh.. Cabin Fever is definitely a thing… I have been there many times… That’s really when it starts to aggravate my mental wellbeing. So I totally get that… Dreary weather, not being able to get outdoors, being cooped up, etc… NONE of it is helpful to our Mental wellness. Hopefully this weather will start to do what it’s supposed to do With the month of June coming this way… Perhaps that will start to turn things around both mentally & physically!

As far as Mental Health Awareness, it’s DEFINITELY “Ok to not be ok”…. (Great response)… I say that to others all the time. Whatever we are feeling, is all perfectly valid.~

Thanks for sharing with us this week and keeping us updated as always.. Hopefully you’ll get some answers & solutions regarding your aches/pains. And in the meantime they calm for you until that appt arrives. So definitely take advantage of your relaxation time during this long weekend! And Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going.

@PoliteOcean

Hi, Ocean,

Love your red, white and blue text.  I don't usually go for that stuff, but this looks great.

How are things going today? .. Do you have any plans or intentions for the Long Weekend & Memorial Day Holiday ahead?  I'm just relaxing.  I have to start reading for my summer class, but I'm ahead of the assignments.  My plans are to finish folding and putting away laundry and reading and relaxing.

🌷 This is our "4TH" Check-in for MAY~... We have one week left before this month ends... What goals or tasks would you like to accomplish or focus on for yourself before the month comes to a close?!

I'm still studying Hawaiian and am getting my workouts in at work.  I need to keep reading for class.

🍉 As we get ready to end the month of MAY, we will also come to the last week of "Mental Health Awareness Month"..... Is there anything that you'd like others to know or realize about Mental Health Awareness?... What do you feel is the MOST important thing in Maintaining a good balance in "Your own personal" overall Mental Health & wellbeing?!  I'd like people to know that you can't tell how a person is doing by looking at them.  They can be in a lot of pain and not be stable.  I'm trying to keep my job.  It's a hard one.  And I'm trying to keep up with Hawaiian and reading for school.  That is a lot.  I need to rest a lot, too, because my job takes a lot out of me.

🌞 JUST FOR FUNAs many of us embark on the Long Holiday weekend ahead, if you could only choose ONE FOOD item to grill for a cookout, WHAT would it be?!  veggies

🌷 What were your "Highlights or Struggles" of the week?... How were you able to work through your Challenges in a Healthy Way?!  I took a lot of ibuprofen and drank a lot of water and tea.

Hey Tree~ Thank you, glad you like the colored-text in the post… I do like to use theme colors for “holiday” posts.. or else just keep it something nice and cheerful in relation to whatever season we are in~ Thanks for noticing!~

Thats good that you are taking time to relax.. it definitely feels good when we allow ourselves to do that. Even better when you are able to “get ahead” of any tasks beforehand!.. And of course finishing up and completing any household chores to get them out of the way for later is icing on the cake. 👍🏼… it all Sounds very productive. So Keep up the great work.

I think it’s awesome that you are able to squeeze in your study time for Hawaiian as well as getting those steps & activity in while at work. Thumbs up to you on making a way there!

Mental Health & wellness are certainly very different for everyone, from person to person... Things can affect us all individually in very different ways. What stresses out one person may have another person wondering what all the fuss is about… But there’s that saying that goes something about “always be kind to everyone you meet because you never know what someone else is going through”…. And in today’s world, we see more & more of that. Thanks for sharing your view & response.

Also Great job to you in keeping up with your hydration by getting in lots of water & tea. Hopefully you also found that the ibuprofen helped as well.~

And thank you for sharing your week with us and keeping us updated. Please let us know how things are continuing to go for you and how everything is moving along as well with your new job.
