Good morning everyone, I know that it has been a while since the posts, and I apologize for that.  Let us begin, shall we? This morning I would like to talk about Filling Your Cup of Joy when I speak of this term what comes to mind? Do you think of it metaphorically or physically filling your cup with a comfort drink? Both are okay to think because both are very valid responses to a term like this. However, what I am speaking about is completely metaphorical and based on emotion, and of course, it can be looked at mentally as well.

As humans when we look to fill our cups, we look to inanimate objects and at times another person. Yes, loving someone is grand, but that does not mean we fill our cups based on our loved ones' needs, wants, and interests. Doing so will only make it harder for you to find yourself and still be an individual while being with someone as well. Remember you do not owe your partner, crush, or even someone you just started talking to your entire cup, you always should hold on to some for yourself. I know that some of you are thinking isn't that "selfish"? I am here to tell you that no it is not selfish to want to pour into your cup and still pour into those you love.

Society has made us believe that making moves for ourselves, progressing/ advancing in our careers, or even taking a little time for ourselves is "Selfish" and should not be done. We are allowed to not give 100% of our energy to anyone unless it is our children that is different. Even with children, you still deserve a break. Just because someone else does not agree does not mean that you should stop, you are doing the best you can each day.

Always remember that filling your cup of joy is always important, the pros of doing such things are a better mentality, easy to be more vulnerable, finding more hobbies, finding your dislikes/likes and even finding out where you are emotionally. All of these things are important and should be recognized at all times.

Questions:

1. When was the last time you Filled your cup of Joy? Why was it that long?

2. What are the pros and cons of filling your cup of joy?

3. How do you feel after reading this?

Wonderful post!

I like to think I try to fill my cup every Thursday. It is my off day from work/uni so I like to do a little self-care day of treating myself to any lunch and shopping!

The pros are feeling rejuvenated and reminded of the lovely little joys in life! Can’t think of any cons!

I feel grateful for the reminder!💜
