Empathy and compassion asks us to stay curious about others’ experiences without judgment. This can be tough when emotions are high.

Reflect on the following questions and respond below:

  1. What helps you respond with compassion when someone’s behavior frustrates you?
  2. How has empathy from someone else helped you grow personally?

I look forward to reading your replies,

Hey, thank you for those two great questions!

Staying curious without judgement is always a challenging work. Still, we all try that art here. 🌿

The first question, asking questions to myself like 'what might have made them to respond to us like that?' helps me to come up with a better and polite response.

The second question, feeling understood by friends & family always helped me.

Have a great day! 🍃

@BigBear525  1- I tell myself that everyone thinks differently.
2- Empathy from watching moral lessons.

For me, trying to step outside of my own shoes and look at the situation from different angles helps me have compassion for others. There are times when I really can't understand why someone would choose to do something that they did, but when I step outside of my own perspective, I realize there's often a world of reasons. It's so easy to be quick to judge someone, but I have to remind myself that I don't always know the full picture.

1. Try to put myself in their shoes and give them the chance to doubt rather.
2. It has helped me look at myself with more compassion and treat myself kindly.

  1. What helps you respond with compassion when someone’s behavior frustrates you?

  1. How has empathy from someone else helped you grow personally?

Seeing the kindness of others, help me see certain situations in a new light.

@BigBear525 I think what really helps me respond with compassion, even when I’m frustrated, is taking a step back and trying to imagine what the other person might be going through. Reminding myself that everyone has their struggles helps me not react impulsively.

As for empathy from others, I’ve had moments where someone just listened without judging me, and it made me feel understood in a way that gave me confidence and clarity. It’s amazing how just being seen can help you reflect and grow.
