Course 2, Discussion 1: Understanding your Leadership Style
Hello everyone,
If you are reading this, it means you have come a long way in your leadership training. Kudos to you for all the effort and resilience you have shown! It is amazing how you all are open to learning and adapting to new environments: the environment of leadership!
Before we zoom in and talk more about learning and adapting, lets zoom back out first and talk about how you feel about leadership. Regardless of how you see yourself, there is a leader within you. The one who visualizes how things could have run in a better way if you were in the leading spot. Leading spot here means:
A desire for change
Believing you got the abilities to make it happen
Visualizing success while keeping in mind the bigger picture.
Lets take a look at the leadership styles as proposed by Daniel Goleman

Your original style could be any of them. So for the purpose of this course, we are going to use a leadership style test to help you identify your core competencies. In brief, we are using the test here to help you identify your leadership approach. So, when you know how you approach an event, you could think and put efforts to bring a change in it. It will allow you to polish your strengths and focus to improve in other different areas as well.

Hey everyone!
I just finished the leadership style test and my highest score was Visionary (34/35). I’m honestly not surprised — I do tend to focus a lot on the bigger picture and love thinking about ways to guide others toward a shared goal.
That said, the rest of my results were pretty balanced too, especially Coaching and Commanding, which also fit how I usually act depending on the situation.
So yes, I actually do agree with the quiz! It really captured how I approach leadership, and I like how it showed different sides of my style, not just one. Looking forward to learning more in this course!

✒️ Do you agree with this quiz? This quiz was difficult to relate to because at work, I am in more of a front-line position rather than in leadership. The description for this type is as follows: Accomplishes tasks efficiently and to high standards of excellence.
Leads by modelling. Disinclined to collaborate with peers except to
obtain or exchange resources. I do try to do my best and complete the task as quickly as possible, so it fits.

My leadership style that was the highest is ''visionary''. I agree with that.

Which leadership style did you score the highest for?
In the Leadership Styles Quiz I got two styles. One being a Visionary with a 35-35 and a Pacesetting 35-35
Do you agree with this quiz? I would say that both these styles were correct although i do not agree with the COMMANDING score which Gives clear direction and soothes fears in times of crisis.. I found that Interesting
