Conflict Resolution
Daily Check-In May 1tth to May 13th 2026
Happy mother's day to all our Moms in the group.
No one likes conflict; it makes you edgy, stressed, mad, and not able to calm down properly. Conflict resolution is when you use a process, both formal and informal, on how to resolve the matter. It can be through meditation, negotiation, and collaborating on a compromise solution to a problem.
Conflict resolution strategies:
Active listening: This is when you listen to the other person's feelings and opinions and understand their perspective on the matter.
Emotional Intelligence: When you begin to manage your own feelings about the situation and avoid being defensive, angry, and intimidating.
Clear Communication: When both parties listen to one another fully without judging or interrupting.
Meditation: You may at times ask a third party to listen to both sides and come up with a solution to the disagreement.
Collaboration: Coming to a proper and neutral term to end the conflict. Working on a "win-win" situation.

I normally struggle with confrontations and get talked down, as if I was wrong in the first place
No I stand my ground.
Stay calm.
Focused.
Not emotional.
Get my words out.
And keep my tone respectful , and stick to the argument in hand and not insults just for the sake if it 🥰

@Amanda84
I can't stand it when I just find myself saying ready made phrases or words that I know I don't believe but that reflect what the other person like to here and I pass on the wrong message or keep passing on the wrong message.
For example: lots of older generation people in Italy won't walk or used the public transport system for daily things even if the city is so beautiful and made for walking, they are so stuck with always using their car. Even if it's just 20-30 minute walk, they'll take a car even if there is no parking and they waste hours looking for parking. The time they get the car, look for parking, I'm already there, but they can't see it. I don't create all the smog and noise by walking, I also don't need a gym subscription or always organize and pay for a hiking guide. I get to enjoy each day.
So when they asked me why I always walk instead of using the car, instead of making see a different way of living I said "bc there's no parking as if I'm blaming the Mayor for not making parking (just like the always do, bc they don't want to change ways" when in reality I'm happy about these changes bc the centre become a meeting place like it originally was and not another parking lot". I hate it when I talk to please people, scared to stand out.

I think if we knew that we would not be here. seems like i have a circular issue where it gets better for a short time then explodes again. SO I FAKE it agree while cursing my partner behind his back i have no feelings but resentment now
I’m sorry you’re going through that, I understand how you feel like you have to fake it; but couldn’t you use active listening and communication to arrive at a compromise? A relationship is all about teamwork, and the resentment will eventually break it. However it’s not good to completely ignore each other’s boundaries either.
@RickestRick86
Active listening only works with BOTH sides are doing it i have actively listened my partner on the other hand barely listens.
communication is a 2 way street. one side cannot and should not try to carry the whole load.
Sounds like you only end up holding everything in, which is hurting you in the long run. I’m only saying that faking it, is really only leading you to more pain. What would lead you to less pain?
@RickestRick86
leaving the relationship
Sounds like you know what to do, then. Preferable over holding everything inside, and faking it.
@pamharley003
This was somewhere in the Time Management Course, how we need to realize that our tasks involve others and how a compromise is needed whenever we think of a task.

How can you resolve a conflict without arguing?
One thing that helps me is focusing on understanding rather than winning.
I try to listen actively, ask questions, and express my thoughts respectfully.
If emotions are running high, taking a short break before continuing the conversation can also help.
I have found that patience and clear communication often prevent disagreements from turning into arguments.
