Daily Mindfulness Check-In February 07, 2021
Happy Sunday everyone!
There are so many ways to practice mindfulness in our day-to-day lives. One of these is single-tasking. How do you practice "single-tasking" in your life?
Personally, this is something I have so much difficulty with but I find having a daily planner and to-do list helpful in keeping me on track and focused. I also appreciate the POMODORO youtube channels lately.

Thank you for sharing this most helpful video with it's great questions and suggestions.
How do you practice "single-tasking" in your life?
I try to focus just on one thing at a time. This is not always easy since I've been doing task switching for many years but I realized that focusing on one thing saves times and energy. Something that helped me in the past was to say out loud what I want to do to prevent other thoughts (with tasks) coming into my mind.
I honestly don't know how to do that lol. I'm always multitasking! To work towards single-tasking, I should do the most important thing of the day first and just do that and not 2 or more things at once. Nice to know this. Thank you!!
Lists are very helpful when prioritizing what you should do and when. Im kind of curious, though. What are some things you multitask with?
When I am on the computer, for instance, I tend to multitask the most and have like 20 tabs open lol
@cafedaydreams I do the same with you. LOL. At work I handle multiple projects with multiple departments and it can be quite difficult to single task when people would just call or ask you for something. I am a person that is easily distracted so it can be quite challenging to just focus at a task on hand when other tasks are screaming of "URGENT"!! as well. XD
But yup, you are right! I am really loving my physical planner now. So far it is helping me a lot.
I do the easiest tasks one by one.
@crang17 thank you so much for this post ! <3
to practice single-tasking, i remember to revert my focus back to whatever i was doing. when i am doing something, i describe my actions as i am doing it and i think simply. when i start to think about other things or start to do other things, i try to go back :) it takes time and practice, but it definitely brings a lot of ease and peace !

@RumpleSteeleSkin wow!! you sound really busy, Rumple! I am looking forward to hear about your experience if you can do more single-tasking for yourself, family, zoo, and clients. 💚🐥🙊🐶🐹🐴🐑🐍🐢 I am not sure what animals you have so I am clicking random animals hehe
@crang17
HI Crang you are very nice in your words-thank you. I am guilty for multi tasking most every day in many things I do. I start off being mindful but well I am "off to the races" and doing many things at once till I find myself half asleep on the couch-finally sitting. I guess its just in my old bones to be like this. But the older I get I am noticing it is affecting my body and my forgetting certain simple things. I can share that I am looking to hire 1 more person to mix in my team of picking food and donations up. This would free up a lot of time during the week and sometimes my weekends. Thank you❤️
