Daily Mindfulness Check-In July 7, 2020
The mind can go in a thousand directions, but on this beautiful path, I walk in peace. With each step, the wind blows, with each step, the flower blooms Thich Nhat Hahn
Happy Tuesday everyone

one thing that consistently blows me away on here is the language skills of people I talk to. Many times I have chatted for half an hour, only to then discover that English wasn't even the member's first language. Sometimes not even their second.
So, humbleness, I guess.
I learned from someone very stable and secure which I am not that when you make a mistake even a big one that you must take responsibility for the part you played but you shouldn't beat yourself up repeatedly about it. This is something I find very difficult but it has had an impact on me and when I make mistakes which I often do, each time I try to think about not beating myself and each time I do it a little less. But I always try to take a lesson from it and endeavour not to repeat the mistake ‐ always a work in progress
@amiablePeace77 thank you for this great check in
What is something that you learned from someone very different from you that you are thankful for?
I learned to look at things a bit more -more so judging it
@amiablePeace77
I learned that there is more than one way to see the same situation depending on the mindset I use to look at a situation.
Thank you to all those who disagree with me. I could not learn open mindedness without you.
@soulsings I really like the way you shared this. Yes more then 1 way to see a situation depending on how your mind is set. This to I have been learning and liking the out come
thank you @RumpleSteeleSkin !

Hello!
Something that I learned from a friend who's personality is the complete opposite of mine is that you should never be ashamed of who you are. You should always do what makes you happy, no matter where you are, who's around you, or what others may think. It's important to be unique, to have fun, and most importantly, to be yourself. That's how you can feel good about yourself and attract others with positive energies. :)
@honeypie720 hi good to see you! Wow I really felt what you shared was inspiring and the truth on life. Yes always be yourself and unique and confident in YOU. Thank you for sharing with us
My mother was abusive, and nearly the polar opposite personality of myself, so it was sort of a paradox that she taught me tolerance, but I'm so glad that she always told me that racism and predjudice of any kind were wrong.
@betterchoices not being recist or prejudice and having tolerance are all VERY important skills of life to have. I am glad your mom taught you these things. hugs
@amiablePeace77
I learned that people in leadership don't always look out for the people they're serving. They can be biased, unfair and prejudiced.
@LexIris
I totally agree with you on this :)
@LexIris I am very glad you shared this even tho it was hard-maybe. Leadership is not biased, unfair or prejudiced. When you have a leadership position it is not meant to make our "head big". It was given to a person as others see leadership skills in them. I am sorry you seen this and felt this from anyone in a leadership role. Hugs
No matter what show them kindness and maybe this will help them
@amiablePeace77
I learned many things from different people. Thank you to each of those people who were very very different from who I am and how I am.
I learned that you don't have to be perfect for people to believe in you and care for you.
I learned that I deserve being cared for.
And I learned that things aren't what they seem to be, you have to open your eyes wide and look at them from a transparent lense;
---> Don't be quick to judge, be it positive or negative.
---> Don't believe everything quickly.
@Anonymousloner4773
through a transparent lense* smh what's grammar 😳
@Anonymousloner4773 ellerz to you
ahh I see some mind minds here! I love this stuff you took from people who shared with you. These are all very important to have within you in life. Thank you for sharing with us

What is something that you learned from someone very different from you that you are thankful for?
I learned from my Boyfriend to not be so hard on myself. To begin reading my self help books and to stop always putting myself down. He now does self care with me. We chose Sunday's to do what I would like to do. He is also helping me open up more when something is wrong.
@pamharley003 -waves-
Treating ourselves with love and care is so very important. I am glad that your boyfriend is a good guy to want to help and support you with things that help you.
