What makes you feel uneasy? Overwhelmed? Anxious?

Some things that made me anxious were when things did not go or work according to my plans.

Is there an activity that calms you? A place or a thing that makes you feel at ease?

I begin practising mindfulness in such situations. It has helped me immensely.

What makes you feel uneasy? Overwhelmed? Anxious?

Thinking too much about my health, worries about my career, feeling like I'm behind in life even though everyone goes at their own pace. Also basically any conversation I have with my grandma makes me uneasy because she's very hard to please.

Is there an activity that calms you? A place or a thing that makes you feel at ease?

Reading is my go to relaxation method. Also baking (or stress baking lol). I also like listening to music or taking my neighbor's dog out for walks. Recently I've been getting into those ambience videos you can find on YouTube. Many of them are very well-made.

@cafedaydreams

Sounds like you found mindful ways to deal with your emotions, particularly in these challenging times.

Sorry to hear about your grandma, some people become more impatient and demanding with age though. It can challenge your own patience.

Yes, so far I am really liking this Fantasy Village one and a music compilation of the elder scrolls video game music. :) Anything with forest sounds are nice.

Being near water can be very calming.

@soulsings

Being near a large water body brings a sense of humility and immediately lets us realise ourselves.

Also, the very presence of a strong natural force is very calming.

Lots of things!

But yes, when one surfaces, I like to remember your idea about putting a buffer between the trigger and my reaction.... possibly a LOT of time :) slowing down helps me feel calm, slowing my mind my thoughts, my breath, my rate of actions, pace of the day... stillness is peacefulness. Remembering stillness, noticing that it exists, all the time, in the background, is comforting and helps me.

@onwardforevenmore

I totally agree with you about stillness, it calms your mind allowing you to feel more at peace and less stressed out.

I have a few things that make me feel uneasy and anxious. One thing is getting into arguments with other people. I have a tendency to self blame and overgeneralize and will feel everything is my fault. For me what calms me is going on hikes. Exercise is so important for me to relieve stress for me. Being in nature and feeling the sun is so helpful for me. I also do meditation and yoga a few times a week. This is so calming for me. Another thing for me is being around people. During these times it is really hard so I try to attend online groups for support.

@Iheartguineapigs

I can relate to arguments with people, it brings up so much negative energy. Glad you found ways to get into balance again, nature is a wonderful healer and yoga is amazing to connect with your body and keep you really focused and mindful.

Sorry to hear though that you're falling into the trap of self blame and overgeneralization. On April 6, room 35+, 4 pm et we will have a discussion about Control Fallacies, you're very much welcome to join

What makes you feel uneasy? Overwhelmed? Anxious?....Many things depending on the day... But currently being or feeling like I'm on a dead-line to do something or get something done or completed.

Is there an activity that calms you? A place or a thing that makes you feel at ease?.....Being with Family, My Pet (who is my family as well), Traveling & Going on vacations ESPECIALLY to the Ocean! Usually any place or time near the Water is a calming and relaxing experience for me.~

Even imagining being close to a water body sounds so soothing.
