@amiablePeace77 thank you for this thoughtful check in. I am still trying to think of how to answer it. Also being honest with myself........

What is your "Go-to" emotion when being rejected and if it's negative how could it be changed?

"Go-to" emotion : Anger

But this is my fast reaction and no mindfulness is able to calm me or make me see the details to know anger is not the emotion I need to feel from being rejected.

With mindfulness- I put the focus back to me and wonder what actions did I do to offend someone. What and if does it really apply to me and for me to really react. Also at this stage I just move along and don't think much of someone rejecting me.heart

It's amazing what mindfulness can do for us. Glad it helped you, anger can be so hurtful to our mind and body.

My go-to emotion is depression. I end up feeling like I'm not worthy and alone.

I guess the way to combate this is to think of why I was rejected in the first place. Maybe I can find a cause within myself and find out how to change it.

Hugs, that's a painful thought and feeling. There can be so many things why someone rejected us. It's great that you also look inside and not only to the outside to find the reason.

When I feel rejected I isolate my self and maybe disassociate.

Not let it bother me but that is a goal

I hope you will achieve this goal and that coming here will help you with it.

My go to emotion is most probably confusion and sadness more than anything. I feel I try to connect with everyone I meet and try to find the middle and common ground. When I don't I feel like I have failed somehow, like I may not be good enough in some fashion or another.

It then makes me feel very isolated and alone.

I believe the best thing I can replace that with is the idea of appreciation for the fact that I try to find the common ground with everyone I meet. It isn't something everyone does, but I genuinely want to find where and why I connect with someone.

Appreciation for the effort I put in is what I need to replace the feelings of lonliness, confusion and sadness with.

I'm a good person and I try my hardest to find out where we connect, not where we separate from each other.

hello @AdmiralPeace

I hope you are doing fine? I had another EMDR session the other day, it went pretty good. Still sets me back a bit afterward. I am having such a problem with finding a safe place that is complicating the process. Imagery has been so problematic for me.is going to be a problem because we are asked to do meditations three times a day. Meditations prove to cause triggering for no reason so the 12-week class that starts today On top of that my church informed me that meditation and yoga are demonic practices that have thrown me into a tailspin. So now I am really confused as to what I need to do. I like my church but some things I just don't know why they make us feel like we are doing wrong. I am not sure if they are right or wrong. My daughter and I talked about it and she feels it is demonic too.

I wanted to go to the group chat room with the therapist to be apart of asking her questions but I can not get the hang of how the group chats work. It feels overwhelming to me and I feel lost there so I avoid group chats. @Soulsings tried to help me understand but it is so busy I just get overwhelmed with it and leave. Do you have any suggestions?

@scarletPear1945 I am sorry that your church describes meditation as a demonic practice. That sounds like a judgment to me. I think having a direct relationship with our creator is something meditation offers. Not sure what they are afraid of. PM me if you want to discuss more.

@scarletPear1945 I am a Pastor and and a Listener, I have to disagree with your Pastor of your church, with meditation being demonic. Your Pastor needs to read his Bible more carefully.

It says in the Good Book,(I am Pharaphrasing here) to mediate day and night,on His word.

I find nothing wrong with doing meditation.

So if the word meditation is in the Good Book, then there is nothing wrong with doing it.

Some people mediate doing Yoga.

My suggestion here is maybe find a different church.

Plus it improves your health and well being.

I hope this helps.

@scarletPear1945 Hi sometimes the group chats are fast paced but other times they are slower paced. If you check the community calender the different discussions are listed and you can check what topic may interest you. Today(Friday) in 50plus there is a group discussion at 5pmest. During these dicussions the moderators ask questions and the members answer(if they want to). At 6pm est 50plus has open chat, where we can discuss whatever w want to(within the rules).I hope that this helps.

My go-to emotion after rejection is usually sadness. To make it less hurtful I try to remind myself that not everyone will like me and that's ok. What's important is that I love myself.
