Checking-In with Yourself

Do you believe that checking in with yourself on a daily basis helps to maintain good emotional health and why?
@amiablePeace77

Ha me saying "HECK-YEA"
If myself do so much during just 1 day-it can be silly. Sometimes I forget to take just a few minutes and see how I am doing. Most times I injure myself or my bloood sugar goes down. So I have learned even if I am on the ellie toilet to check in with ME😍
@amiablePeace77 Aww lovely peace. Yes it does :) because you know what exhausts you or whether you feel burned out

I like to check in with myself just to see what's in my head that I buried throughout the day. Doing so helps me have a better understanding of why I'm feeling a certain way. So, yes I do believe it's a healthy thing to do.
Sure absolutely
Yes daily check ins is a good mindfulness tool. It helps to ground me and separate truth from fiction when it comes to dealing with anxiety and / or negative thoughts patterns, and helps bring calm to mind.
Yes of course! I do it every day as part of my journaling and feel like I'm missing something if I don't do it! I also have on my calendar to check in with myself monthly with different questions, about more macro-scale progress and adjusting things that aren't working. Daily is too often for those.... quarterly is too long... and I also have a weekly report that I do for my business and personal life, with even different questions! The weekly check-in helps me prioritize for the week. Daily helps me with day to day stuff, and monthly really helps keep track of time. How fast or slow it seems to go!
Whenever I do my quarterly and annual business and personal finance reviews I also feel like I'm checking in with myself, comparing to prior quarters and years.
I also check in monthly to add to my "top 10 of the year" lists of things I want to remember about each year... that's totally fun to review! Keeping it positive and with categories that interest me make me want to review the "best of the best" and things/people/books/movies/experiences worth keeping in my life!
@amiablePeace77, every now and then I just kind of look at everything going on and genuinely ask myself 'Am I okay? Am I well?', and analyse any reasons that I may not be okay in order to chance things to fit my wellbeing better!
So much change goes on that checking in with ourselves, even only now and then, can be an awesome way of making sure we aren't doing too much, we're still enjoying things, we're caring for ourselves, etc! ❤️
Yes I think we should check in with ourselves once a day. It’s easy to push away what’s bothering us and let our stress slip by and then stress builds up as days pass by. By checking with ourselves daily, this also helps us to gain self-awareness, reflect on how we react and/or respond to things, think how we can handle stressors, and think how we can improve our emotional well-being and maturity.
@amiablePeace77
Yes. And we oblige ourselves to do that.
Just curious, what is your method/way of self check-in?
@DonaldDraper
Hi there and nice to hear that you're checking-in with yourself.
Usually I sit down every night and take a few minutes to do breathing exercise and quick scan to become aware of tight points in my body before I start a guided meditation with a special focus.
@amiablePeace77 Thank you for sharing ami 🧡
That really does sound like a nice way to start the meditation. I dont think I have ever tried that. I have tried the ones where we realize the tension points during the session. But definitely would give your way a try too. 🙏
