💬 What’s a Quote That Has Stuck With You for Years?
Hey everyone,
You know how sometimes a quote hits you so hard it just sticks—becomes part of how you see the world? For me, it’s this one:
“It’s the rhythm of highs and lows that make life real. A flat line may look peaceful, but it isn’t calm — it’s silence."
I first came across it during a rough patch when I was dealing with burnout, juggling too much, and wondering if the constant ups and downs were a sign I was doing something wrong. This quote flipped that narrative for me.
It reminded me of the heart monitor in a hospital—how the very proof of life is movement, fluctuation. Highs, lows, spikes, dips. If things were perfectly flat… well, that’s not living. That’s done.
I remember one night, after a 16-hour shift, I sat in my car just staring at the steering wheel, drained. I felt like I couldn’t keep riding the emotional rollercoaster that came with my job, my responsibilities, my life. Then that quote popped into my head—out of nowhere. And it clicked.
Peace isn't always the absence of chaos. Sometimes it's knowing that even the lows are part of a living, breathing journey.
Since then, I’ve tried to welcome the waves instead of fearing them. Good days, bad days, breakthroughs, heartbreaks—they’re all proof I’m still in the game.
So I’m throwing this to you all:
What’s a quote that’s stuck with you for years? The kind that you carry in your back pocket, pull out when things get heavy, or that shaped the way you live?
Would love to read the words that have stayed with you. 💭

@AloyXmachina7786 Good things stick to self and conditioning.
@AloyXmachina7786 A quote that has stuck with me is "The entire notion of morality depends on the idea of the immortality of the soul".
"It is in our darkest moments that we must focus hardest to see the light." - Aristotle Onasis

"If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you" I definitely relate to this one in a deep way- It's such a great reminder of the importance of self-awareness and how critical it is to examine and confront your internal struggles so as not to be overcome by them.
One of the lines that Neku says at the start of TWEWY (The World Ends With You).
"I got my values, so, you can keep yours. Alright?"
@AloyXmachina7786 It's really hard for me to pick, but if I had to I'd go with one It'd be a quote which I forget who it was by, I think it was Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher books: he was saying goodbye to someone and they told him to 'take care of himself' to which he replied "No... I think I'll take care of others instead, it's always seemed to work out better for me in the long run." That quote has really stuck with me, even though I've forgotten who it was that even said it.
I like that :)
Two quotes, first: you just need to be alive to die. Second: you can take care of parents when they are sick, but you can't bury with them, life must go on.

"You have something to share, not something to prove."
This one is so important for me. Especially as a performer. It just completely changes my mindset, my tendency to compare myself to others, etc. It's a good one. Heard it from Tyler Joseph, actually.

My step-dad always said "*** in one hand and wish in the other, see which one feels up quicker." That never leaves my mind anytime I want to ask for anything.
