Mindfulness Daily Check-In January 16, 2018

Hello everyone
I hope everyone is doing well today. I thought today we focus on "gratitude". A lot of times we simply forget about the "good things" in our live because the "bad" is so overwhelming. AND THAT IS OK
We can always be mindful of new things that are healthy, and bring them into our daily lives.
Why do a gratitude journal-right? Well let me mention a few things we recieve doing this..
1. Less stress
2. Calmer
3. Gain a new perspective of what is important to you and what you truly appreciate in your life.
4. By noting what you are grateful for, you will gain clarity on what you want to have more of in your life, and what you can cut from you life
There are so many things you gain from doing just 1 15 minute entry in your gratitude jurnal.
So today, what are some things you are grateful for? Nothing is ever to small to be thankful for it

HI Rumple thanks so much for this wonderful check-in
(teehee) I know for me- I tend to be in a head space of funk, dread, negativity concerning me personally. It is like a well known comfortable place to be. But over the years being mindful of my brain doing this and how it makes my body feel-I have changed a lot
It wasn't easy always getting my brain to follow directions either-lol But with practice and also doing the gratitude jurnal really did help. Things I'm grateful for:
1. My home 2. Others believing in me 3. The ability to help another 4. My kids 5. My pets and the comfort and laughs they give me 6. My job and my wonderful bosses-I got 3 7. 7cups 8. Mt team mates and all they do-and then some 8. Food in my home-or the blessings I get from close friends 9. My sanity 10. Mindfulness skills
I can go on and on here
I have so much to be blessed/thankful for. Aside from my own mental health battles still there is a rainbow in my vision

@RumpleSteeleSkin thank you this post is great way to put things into perspective. I'm wishing everyone happiness and peace today.
I love mindfulness practices that bring me out of my head and back into the current moment. I find it is very easy for myself to get caught up in my thoughts, and planning what to do next, or what to aim for next in my life. This was the perfect reminder to stop. Take a moment. And appreciate where I am now in my journey.
Today I'll practice gratitude for the small things in my life I often take for granted: running water, a warm house, safety, food, and loving friends and family.
@SHutchison
HI Hutchison nice to see you in check-in
Oh yes mindfulness sure does bring us to the current stuff in todays life. You are not alone in having your mind do 50 things at once and you are doing 1 thing and trying to focus. I love that mindfulness gently teaches us how to be aware of our breath first, then how our body is doing, how we are feeling, and then has us focus on things around us. woohooo right
Yes those little simple these by nature we just "over see" but they mean alot in our lives. I hope today you can be mindfully grateful on all the things in your day
@RumpleSteeleSkin
Great post, Rumple
I am very grateful for this community here and the time to share some space and ideas with you all about how to cope and navigate our ways through life!
I am also very grateful for my husband, my dog, a roof over my head, the seasons in life, the things that have gotten me to where I am today, both negative and positive experiences.
@EmunahHere
HIya Emunah great to see you in check-in
aaww we are grateful to have you and to see all your ideas and see your kindness and commitment to the community. Wow you have lots to be grateful for. I root for the the dog tho
Also I like that you said "poitive and negative experiences. As both really do teach and guide us.
i am grateful for exactly that. My journal that has helped me put things in perspective so i don't lose myself in the maze of my ruminations.
@orchard9786
HI Orchard good to see you here in check-in
I'm glad to hear that you use a gratitude jurnal-and seeing more perspective in your life. Is there any thing you can share with others here who might be begining to use a gratitude jurnal?
For myself, i am on the road to recovery after catching the dreaded flu followed by a dose of bronchitis. I am greatful for the fact i am recovering and i will get better and resume my life. After such a nasty illness i appreciate and am grateful for my health which is something we can take for granted when we have it!
@XxLucyl0uxX
Hi there Lucy nice to see you
aaww Lucy I'm hoping that you will be feeling better real soon(I caught the bug several weeks ago and dealing with congestion and fevers still) Yes yes our health is something to be very grateful for as that also affects our moods and mental health. I'm glad you mentioned this. And again please do rest and get better soon
@RumpleSteeleSkin Thankyou and i hope you feel better soon too!
Heyyy Rumple!!
Hope you've been doing well :) Ahhh gratitude is so important, and I've never tried journaling but it sounds like a great creative way to show appreciation for things we are truly grateful for.
Things today include: food, my family, mindfulness, my home, oranges, my scarf, my bed, being able to relax and lots more.
Thanks for this check-in :) take care
@peppermintlove

Wow all those wonderful things you mentioned sure are somethings to be grateful for-good job!
@RumpleSteeleSkin
i am honestly grateful for people like you reminding me of being grateful, writing in my journal. today i am particularly grateful for inside calmness and feeling much stronger again.
@amiablePeace77
HIya Peace glad to see you
aaww I thank you
I think that is good that you show "some" gratefulness to things. That is the start-you are doing great. You keep your head up and know you are doing your best
I'm thankful for my growing initiative. I can see myself slowly getting better. It's the tiniest of steps, but I know I'm moving forward.
I
@QSunFlower
HI Sunflower nice to see you in check-in today
aaww hun Im sorry about your breakup-hugs
if you like one. I am glad you reached out to God to find strength in your struggle as well as here. I do like your positive attitude on yes-you to will grow in whatever you need to in life. We all do. It's not a race-we all are growing in so many ways but also have some things in common. You are grateful for your mom and dog-those 2 sound special for you. Im glad they are there for you right now. "My mind may not fully be in check but Im thankful that Im aware and that Im making an effort to care for myself." Our minds are a cleaver thing you know-and I know no one who has it all together. You are showing mindfulness by caring for self in this time now.
Please share on anything we can share on mindfulness that you may need help with. We are here for you
@RumpleSteeleSkin
Thank you for your response. I
