"When is the last time you did absolutely nothing for 10 whole minutes? No texting, talking or even thinking?"

Good morning Community,

I was going through my own thoughts and was watching this video by Andy Puddicombe

And I realized that most of us in our dailys lives we so busy that if one asks us, ""When is the last time you did absolutely nothing for 10 whole minutes?" Then, we do not have instant answer. Need to pause and dig lot of thoughts and memories to recall when it happened? Or even if it happened or not?

Could you think of one such moment? Share with us!

And, if not happened yet? Then, probably we could try to do it and see how it feels? Seems like a challenging activity! surprise

So, here I challenge you and myself. Let's do it and share our experiences.

Happy weekened my lovely mates <3 <3

Listen to soft music and walking outdoors when the sun is shining is my way to forget any stressful issues. The warmth of the sun on my face is very calming for me. I try to do this once a day. Mindfulness has helped me with this.

Hiya! I feel like this is really interesting, but extremely hard to do. I remember trying this out when I was younger and it was impossible to not think about anything, and it was hard to keep focused on doing nothing. I have however been able to sit and just listen to music; this helps me practise mindfulness as the only thing I am aware of is how the music sounds in the present moment, and that helps me feel very calm.

Perhaps I'll try this out again, thanks for the check-in :)

@ASilentObserver

Wishing you a nice weekend too smiley.

It took me quite a while to be able to site somewhere without doing any kind of work, i had always something to do. due to meditation and mindfulness i am able to sit outside e.g. for 20 minutes or even longer just enjoying myself watching the birds and the sky. in meditation i do not have any problem anymore even if i meditate for 30 minutes (which is an achievement for me being very active). Practising was my key.

@ASilentObserver Hi obs! :) Gosh, this is such a great post as I would have never come to this realization on my own.

"When is the last time you did absolutely nothing for 10 whole minutes? No texting, talking or even thinking?"

I honestly do not remember if I ever have did absolutely nothing for a whole 10 minutes in my life. I tried doing this, but found myself thinking even more than before. For as long as I can remember, I am always thinking no matter what and so this is quite odd for me to even realize or think about.

Hi,

It is a difficult thing to accomplish even for a moment or two. Without daily meditation, I would be at a complete loss ☺️

I can recall a couple of times that are relatively recent. One was sitting on the shoreline settling my mind and another was very similar as I have a little hidden overhang with a beautiful view in the mountains.

My only focus was to breathe, settle my mind and allow the thoughts to drift in and out without becoming attached.

Perhaps it is time to add to the list. 😉💛

Enjoy your weekend.

@ASilentObserver I don't know. I used to meditate, but lately I don't have the time. I've been getting an increased workload from school, and it's taking a toll on my mental health. So, we'll see how that ends.

@ASilentObserver I find lying down I am more able to do nothing for 10 minutes. Sometimes I drift off to sleep but sometimes I get an idea or remember something that I really need to do.
