Mindfulness Daily Check-In Monday, April 3
"How other people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours." - Wayne Dyer
It is our choice that how we see our lives. We could consider it as all bad. We could see it as all blessed. We could find it as filled with mixed experiences. It is upto us how we want to see our lives. Most of us experience struggles and bad events in our lives from time to time.
We can take it as bane and feel sorry for how our lives are. Or, we can see as an opportunity to learn or experience something new. No learning and experience is a waste. It is investment. Sooner or later, you will use them and get ome good results.
Immediate thought is whatever obstacle we facing could be that opportunity we looking for so long.
Who knows? It can be. Either we can grab and grow or simply excuse and move one.
I know we can't control everything. Not all is in our control. But, we can choose how could we act and react to it. And thinking positively become more challenging when we believe that whatever happened wrong is due to someone.
Then, we hold anger, grudges and feel like they are responsible for all. But, doing all this, we mentally hurting ourselves more. They may feel bad but they will be busy with what they need to do. And, we will be just wasting our time and mind peace and space on holding grudges.
So, we could just be mindful about it and change how we see our lives.

Yes I agree! Mindfulness makes us pause and think, instead of reacting to something pause and then take action if needed and sometimes that tiny pause stops the flood of emotions and feelings and allows us to see through the moment.
Mindfulness is very empowering!
I have learnt so much from you and Soul and Emunah and Rumple, adding your points to my own knowledge is amazing, thank-you!

Very good tips, I think most people who cross your path in life are positive and nice. It seems the small number that are are unkind or inconsiderate are few, but can really test you not to fall into that way of thinking or feel bad about yourself. Mindfulness has helped in allowing me to focus in a better direction. It is not always easy, but can be done.
@ASilentObserver
HIya Baby Obs thank you for check in today
Yes mindfulness is to make is slow but at times Im a speedy gonzalas with my responses and actions. I do tho not blame the other for how I react, as that is my choice. For me I just don't stop to think-lol and that part sometimes is very important to grow in life. They call it maturity
I feel like I have no control anymore and no one is helping me. I don't understand why my doctors are refusing to help me and therapist are being rude.
@DanaMH
Good morning Dana.
I understand where you are coming from. I really hate that you are having that experience.
, It makes it makes it harder for us to be able to focus on being mindful when you are hurting inside. Sometimes people really don't understand what it feels like to be you or to walk a block in your shoes until they have some issues that come up in their own lives or someone close to them. Unfortunately people today seem to be under a tremendous amount of stress and they misdirect their feelings on to others that should not get the brunt of their ill feelings.
When the doctor won't help you or listen to what you are telling them, it's time to find someone else. After all, they are paid to treat you and give you respect. As for the Therapist, I agree with you on that note because of my own experiences with a rude Therapist. If this becomes a constant issue My suggestion would get another one. Don't make the mistake of trying to keep beating a dead horse. I made that mistake.
I truly hope someone will hear you and address your needs.
OLD SAYING 'THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL'
@scarletPear1945
There aren't any doctors that take my insurance is the issue. There is no where to go. Maybe I should just give up and runaway like I keep telling the 1 therapist that I am planning and just move the date up.
This is some encouragement for me right now. I have my whole future looming ahead of me, but it helps to remember that no experience is pointless. The point of life is trial and error, we just keep trying and do our best to find happiness in those experiences. I'm scared of making a mistake and messing up my future life. It's a sad day for me, and all I can see is this moment, like I'm caught in a jet stream with no energy or motivation to try and get out. I've started reading for enjoyment again. I used to read all the time but anxiety and depression has made it much harder for months. I've closed myself to the emotions to try and protect myself, and I'm not sure how I feel about opening up again ...
@ASilentObserver
A teacher once told me that every time you succeed in something, it is a reward for the hard work you have put into succeeding. But when you fail, the experience is worth so much more, because it isn't the simple validation you can do something that a succes brings you, but it is a learning opportunity. You have come to a place where you need to put in work to come further, and you get the opportunity to show what you're made of really. Are you going to rise to the challenge? Or are you going to sit back and give up?
Because of this view, I've come to learn to appreciate my failures just as much as I appreciate my successes and I think this point of view my teacher has, has a lot to do with being mindful and putting things in perspective.
What do you think?
@JayTheBird14
hi Bird, i like to comment on what you said.
I agree to this point of view, i also learned to accept my failures (some still take longer than others), but to me it is very important that we stand up again when falling down, that is what make us succeed in life.
@JayTheBird14
Wow! I had never thought of unsuccess like that, thank-you, it is a very interesting idea and one that needs a lot of thinking about with each unsuccess looked at for the learning journey it presents to us :)
@ASilentObserver Hi Obs! :) I am not doing so well. How are you? <3 This is a wonderful post. You are so right, and I completely agree with everything you had to say. It really is hard to forgive people and let go of both anger and grudges, but I am trying. Sometimes, it is easy, and some days, I struggle. I do hope eventually that I can let of everything negative that I have left inside soon enough.
@SaimaK
Trying and Hoping are optimistic character strengths, the basis for what you want to achieve and you will get there
@amiablePeace77 Thank you so much, Peace! :) <3
@SaimaK Thank you Saima. I am sorry to hear you not doing good. Hugs <3 Hope you feeling better now. My apology for late response.
@ASilentObserver Thank you so much, Obs! hugs <3 I am slowly trying to heal and improve each and every day :)
@ASilentObserver
Great post!
We cannot control everything but we can choose how we react, we can choose how we will feel inside.
To me it is about practise, practise, practise, forgive yourself when failing and keep on practising mindfulness.
@amiablePeace77 Thanks for checking In with Us! I absolutely love that perspective, yes, all about Practice! Practicing being mindful, practicing forgiving eachother, practicing being happy, because that doesn't come quickly for everyone! 😉
Really don't know what to do anymore with my life/pain since my PCP MD refused to listen yesterday about what the ER and pain mgmt doctors are saying she needs to do and she won't even order the MRI like they want her to do.
