@Susn
HI. Thanks for the welcome.
Anyone who keeps learning stays young.

@Susn How do I do mindfulness? I need to learn.
@Susn I master mind with hearts desires.
Thanks
@Susn
Hi, I am seeing a therapist for DBT because I have borderline personality disorder and I use headspace and other mindfulness things, but how do I remember to use it when I actually need to use it?
@K87 🤗
That's great your doing dbt and thearpy! It sounds like that and headspace and such are helping 🌟.
By posting this question you will become more aware of when you could use mindfulness. It will put it on your radar. Your thinking about it.
Anything I want to increase I put on my diary card then it is on my mind each day. Shines a.light on it.
Wishing you peace on your journey. 💜
@SkillfullMeans
Thank u, I wish u well, as well. I just wish it would become second nature like CBT did eventually.
@K87 that's great you have passion for integrating mindfulness into your life.💥
I bet mindfulness will become second nature if you keep practicing it like you are, and as you did with cbt (cbt will help with dbt.).
There are so many skills that will help you bring it into your life, mindfulness of others, mindfulness of emotion and thoughts. Ect. You practice it formally at first, on purpose, then it starts to generalize, filter through, to all your life.
If you want to learn the mindfulness more you can put reminders around to practice. That's what I do. You never get done practicing mindfullness. It is always there. We just uncover it, let it shine.
💚
Good for you for doing this!!! My life is so much better from dbt, I bet yours will be too! 🥰
@SkillfullMeans
There are more resources for mindfulness dbt in the personality disorder support forum. It is under the pinned post: nagavating community resources. QuiteMagic put together a wonderful compilation of skills. QuiteMagic is also a listener if you wanted to explore this more one to one.
Also in the 50 and older group there is a mindfulness chat each night, I believe, I have never been but it is open to all ages.
@SkillfullMeans
Thank u, I found the resources ur talking about. I'm also a listener and I have trouble with switching roles and being the member, it doesn't make any sense, but it's still a weird thing that I can't figure out
@K87
That switching roles is a very difficult thing, not weird at all! Most of us have trouble switching I would say. I am currently trying to improve asking for opinions or ideas. Like you did.
I talk with @QuiteMagic on my journal super enlightening! If you want to check it out it is A Boundless path. Lots of dbt and mindfulness there!
Maybe there will others with ideas how to remember to use mindfulness when needed.
Kind of interesting, one meaning for mindfulness is to remember! Your on it!
@SkillfullMeans
Remind me, how would I go about finding ur journal? Also, I think, if u still want to, it might be a good idea to chat. I talk to people all the time, but it's mainly members, I don't really know many other listeners and it seems like developing relationships with a couple would be a good idea, it's sometimes lonely being a listener, either because there's no requests or because I helped someone to the best of my ability and now wonder what to do to occupy myself afterwards
@K87

Go to journals, the a Boundless Path.
I don't really know many other listeners and it seems like developing relationships with a couple would be a good idea,
It does seem like a good idea to talk with a couple listeners 😍 for all kinds of support! I am new and probably doing alot wrong, in my desire to help! I am a member, but an out spoken one about dbt and mindfulness! I was trying to connect you with my friend @QuietMagic. They put together all the dbt resources, oversee personality forum, been here a long time and made it really easy for me to talk. It was very reassuring and helpful. They got me! They know dbt and mindfulness so I thought they might be helpful in sorting out ways to remember to use mindfulness at the spur of the moment or anything else.
Your welcome to message me but honestly I am just learning to listen. But feel free on here or in a message! Have loved talking with you today.
@SkillfullMeans
Maybe ask if they can send me a message? I don't know why I can't find them
@K87
Can you see my journal? ✨
@SkillfullMeans
Yea I was able to see it, thank u
@K87
Ok the person that talks to me in there is QuiteMagic are you able to message them if you want to?
@SkillfullMeans
New not sure how this works! You can talk to both of us in that journal if you want to start with that. Might be good place to start. If I could ask how dbt is going? How long you have been doing it ect. You could post it in my journal. I would be honored! Then you could go listener mode with magic if you want! What do you think?
@SkillfullMeans I don't think they can contact you is why I suggest we do it this way! 🙃
@SkillfullMeans
I can't find them. Are they a member or listener?
@SkillfullMeans
I'm a listener, pretty much anyone can message me, sometimes I wish they couldn't, I have had really weird discussions over the years...foot fetish advice was the weirdest and I quickly ended it
@Susn It truly is an underrated subject. Doesn't get talked about enough!

Great idea to reach out and get some support going here. There are many, many that know how you are feeling, not wanting to get out of bed, filled with fear, anxiety and depression. Unfortunately many of us have been where you are. I know I have. It is devastating. You also have the burdens of being sick and disabled. ☹️. This sounds like a whole lot to deal with, to say the least.
Can mindfulness halp? Yes I believe mindfulness can help this kind of situation for sure. Situations where we may not be able to change much and have to accept alot of what we don't like can be helped.
Pls inform how to pray n and practice it.💜ill pray for sure. I can't directly inform you how to practice it, I can share what I have done and get others ideas.
I. am someone who learned mindfulness from Dialetical Behavioral training to begin with 😊. Like the other persons post where we were talking about it, a few minuates ago. If you'd like to start there you can go to: personality forums, navigating Community resources, dbt tuesday master list. There are a ton of good coping strategies there for being afraid, anxious and staying in bed.
Using a listener might be good idea to discover how you could start to learn mindfulness.
There are many classes on the internet to learn mindfulness.
And lastly I bet there are alot of people on here that could give ideas how they learned mindfulness.
If you need help getting to suggested resources let us know, we will help.
So sorry you are going through this. So glad you posted. Let's see if we can get some ideas on how to learn mindfulness going. It Would help us all to share ideas.
Wishing you peace
If you'd like post back so we can know if you have gotten what you needed. I am new here!
@QuiteMagic
@considerateChestnut4179
Hi there, sorry that that's happening and that sounds like a really stressful situation. 😢 Can understand not wanting to get out of bed if all of that fear/anxiety is what you're waking up to.
Just sharing a couple pretty widely used techniques that are considered powerful in terms of modifying one's nervous system and thought patterns, and they're often recommended by therapists for a variety of different mental health conditions:
1) Box breathing (or any other rhythmic breathing practice):

2) Grounding (this is one application/style of mindfulness):
