Have you met a highly motivated person?
Hi everyone! We often talk about motivation and discipline here. However we don't often reflect on what it looks like to be motivated or to be disciplined.
Lets reflect on what these traits look like. Have you met someone who is highly motivated or disciplined? How does that look like, how do they do it?
If you can't think of a real life example, you can talk about a motivational figure/speaker.

Thai Ngoc, an 80-year-old man from Vietnam, claims to have been wide awake for 60 years after a fever during his childhood left him unable to sleep. His family or friends say they've never seen him sleep since the fever and he still works every day.
I find that maybe pretty dang motivating because if I don't get eight hours of rest at night I become wild.

One of my classmates might just be one of the most motivated people I know. It's funny, because he has a 4.0 GPA and I have never seen him study. His grades are great but he doesn't really put any work in, at least that's what I thought. He was always sleeping in class and seemingly never took notes. Skipping his classes, so I assumed he was either really lucky or sneaky. Then, I realized he actually studied very hard. He's in school but he's also has this program his a part of where he teaches his own class. Every time he skips class he's in the library reading and or preparing for his teaching job. He was actually quite studious and very smart. I mean, clearly since he got a job as a teacher but still. That was really interesting to me. To see that just because it doesn't look like someone is working hard doesn't mean they aren't. Can't judge a book by it's cover. 🤷♀️

I must admit envy "successfully" motivated people. I've tried to model my habits after these types of people but I've never got it.
I could be more motivated and more disciplined than the most successful person out there and still horribly fail at attaining a goal.
Social inadequacies have little to do with motivation and discipline and can even contribute to more social inadequacies. The inability to interact on a social level is one of the most prominent reasons for consistent failures. It differs from motivation and discipline.
Financial backing and completeing successful projects often involves others and can propel us into a positive direction. These type of people seem to have no end to their energy and the ability to multitask do big things while little people like me struggle to make it through the chores of the day and hopefully one day be successful enough to be an asset for someone else.
So yeah, I look at successful people all the time and continue to be blown away at the good energy they have and thier power to generate it on a consisyent basis.
