I've just joined in hope to get some help & support . My mother is mentally ill . I have been trying to get her some proper help for quite a number of years . As you are aware, I am sure,.of how painfully difficult it is to try to convince a loved one that they are ill and need help. Believe me I have tried and tried .( Not giving up !) She's been like this all her life -- ...paranoid , suspicious , forgetful , borderline schizophrenic ( the latest claim is of smelling a terrible odor that is not there ) also hearing voices and music I could go on and on about her twisted bizare scenarios , accusations and beliefs she has about people and our family & friends . If anyone has suggestion(s) as to how I can get her to see a therapist please let me know .I've been to her family doc plenty of times , he's tried to get her to see a phsyciatrist but she won't go ....her answer ..." I'm not crazy " I'm fine ...it's your father doing these things , or it's her or him ...ect... Sound familiar ? BTW she has an appointment for an MRI this week . They're going to look at her head ( she gets wicked headaches and the phantom odor she senses has got me worried ) Thanks for reading

I really feel for you. I have a similar experience with my grandma - she's utterly paranoid, suspicious and obsessive. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I could advise you. As to me, I just try to minimize the time with my grandma and let my mom handle her. So, I have no answer to your issue, but just wanted to let you know that I know how difficult, exhausting and painful it feels to have a sick member of family. Especially that you keep worrying about them, but can't bring them to get some help. My heart goes out to you!

i have problems with my family I do not know, how to act around them, somehow I blame all them for my situation, I mean I know I made the mistakes, but I blame them for no be a family to me and do no let grow up or go out to find waht I was looking for, blame them for try to close me to enchain me, and at the same time blame myself for no be enought strong to broke all that and be free to be myself. and at the same time I know I am somehow wrong in some many points, feel so lost do not like that feeling.
I spoke in a group chat for the first time today and earned the Bundled achievement.
