The 10-Minute Challenge (An ADHD trick for everyone)!
Hey everybody!
I recently learned about a trick often used in the ADHD community called the 10-Minute Rule. It helps when you feel paralyzed or overwhelmed by a task.
A wonderful orca suggested it would be perfect for anyone struggling to get started, or procrastinating, so I wanted to propose a challenge here for us to tackle as a group!
Pick one thing you've been avoiding. Commit to doing it for just 10 minutes.
The trick is: You don’t have to finish. Once the 10 minutes are up, you have full permission to stop and go back to relaxing, unless you find your flow and want to keep going!
1. Reply with what you’re going to do (e.g., "I'm going to fold laundry for 10 mins").
2. Go do it.
3. Come back and reply to your own post with "DONE"
If you go beyond the 10 minutes, let us know!
With that, I'll start ⏰ I am going to clear my inbox...

Have fun and happy productivity!
🔵 Reply to others, cheering them on. A little encouragement can be extremely inspiring.
🔵 Tag a friend you think could benefit from this!
aaaand done ✅

I have HD (Hoarding Disorder) and I have been working hard to keep it contained. It's a little out of hand at the moment, so I'm getting up to go pick up. I'll be back!

I forgot to make the post, but I committed to writing two crew paragraphs about the book Hamlet, and I got it finished! I need these for the test tomorrow, so I'm so happy I did it!

Often I took a pause for 10 minutes to listen to a meditation sound and stand or I go for a walk outside. Reading a book with a different topic helps me as well. At least I solve chess puzzles to disconnect from my work.
