Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #4 2024 (Monday 01/22/24 - Sunday 01/28/24)

User Profile: IsayUncle
IsayUncle January 22nd, 2024

I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

I've added a "soft" tag list to this thread because I start a new thread every week and sometimes it gets lost and is hard to find. If you want to be removed or added, please let me know but always visit when you can. We love to hear from you! 💗.

@IsayUncle

Thanks for continuing to tag me here even though I've been absent.  I'm in a pretty good place right now and haven't been visiting my journal site or 7cups.  I have come to the realization that this is wrong.  We all come here in the beginning for help through whatever is bothering us, and then, when we start feeling better, I get the sense a lot of people ghost the site, like I have done.  I want to make it a goal of mine to try to get here a couple times a week and journal.  A while ago , I set up a thread for myself as a journal.  I will attach it at the end of this thread if anyone is interested in keeping up. I also appreciate opinions, advice, or constructive criticism on what I write.  Its not all that private.  I have another site through my health care insurance that offers mental health things and journal things that I have been using.  It is completely private because it is through my health care insurance.  One thing that keeps me from journaling more is the fact that I need a laptop to do it, and finding time to just sit and type can be difficult for me.  I can't just type things out on my phone....its annoying as ***, the little letters and fat fingers...it causes more frustration than good..... Anyway, journaling and writing....two of my larger goals for the upcoming months.  At least 2 to 3 times a week to start.

Here is the link to my journal thread here on 7cups.

Since we are talking about goals, one of the things offered on the other site I was talking about in my previous post on this thread is a SMART Goal Journal.  I have started using this approach to some of my larger goals. I am sharing this hoping it may help someone else.  Here is how they explain it:

SMART Goals

Writing down a goal and tracking your progress towards it can help keep you focused on supporting your well-being.

While it's tempting to set goals like "feel happier" or "have more fun," those types of goals don't usually lead to lasting change.

To create useful and effective goals, make them SMART:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Relevant
  • Time-bound

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone.  I hope you are continuing to reach your goals and get things done that need gettin done......I'm trudging along as always.....one day, one moment, at a time.  The only constant in my life right now is my spin bike rides....I'm consistent with 3 to 5 days a week, an hour ride, 15 to 24 miles a ride, depending on the type of ride/class I take.  Everything else is a big mess of take life as it comes.....it is what it is.....I hope everyone has had a great week thus far....

@CyclingThroughLife

I barely have consistency but I'm taking some classes and that is helping my sanity to have some directed goals. I am on disability checks and don't need to work, but I wanted to challenge myself to think about a topic I'm interested in more fully and get graded on it. Just you doing your spin cycling is very encouraging to me as well. It's those consistent little things that really pay off for our mental health I feel.

.... OMG.... tough week ..... go wash some dishes.....

User Profile: IsayUncle
IsayUncle OP January 27th, 2024

.... working 16 hour days all week.... dishes undone for a week ..... can't find the sponge.... everything is buried ..... the fridge has some funky smells coming from it.

User Profile: IsayUncle
IsayUncle OP January 28th, 2024

.... found the sponge .... next to some carrots that have been buried for some days. I left the house today without my glasses. And without a jacket on a cold wet rainy day. That wasn't very smart seeing that I've been sick for about four days and pretty badly.

I did get a couple of good things accomplished today... (big deals) but now I just got to get the kitchen cleaned and laundry done. I am fresh out of undergarments and all my work clothes are dirty.  I am feeling weak and very puny but just trying to finish a few more dishes so that maybe I can open the microwave without rearranging the kitchen.

I was unable to find my glasses when I got home, I scrounged up an old spare pair. My cell phone had zero juice on it while I was out and about and the phone charger doesn't stay plugged in good in the car..... No glasses, no phone, cold and wet with no jacket...... what a week.... I gave my two weeks notice but this job served it's purpose. But right now I'm gonna go try to wash some more dishes.

Sorry to hear you have had a not so great week.  It must be the week for "things" because I've had one of those weeks too.... I hope you can pull yourself out of whatever funk you are in....I'm over here sending good vibes and rooting for you.  Here is hoping a new week will bring better days.....

I needed to rant and I wanna thank you all for making me feel like I had a comfortable place to do it. i'll probably be doing some more ranting tomorrow but I did get to a good starting point on the dishes. Time to rest and watch some TV I think.

@IsayUncle

I learned a new way to do math, and did another problem yesterday. We find an equation for desired numbers and then we write a code for it. In this way, I was able to find large numbers which satisfy the equation that wouldn't be possible if I did it by hand. And the number I found was really interesting, it's 171363 = 3*239*239

239 is a prime and I thought it's nice to find such large numbers with large primes as its factors, in square forms.

Thank you so much! You have been really supportive about my progress, most people just say something banal. But you seem to get it and are positively supporting me, it means a lot :)

@seashell145

You are so very welcome. I think it is an exciting subject of reality and puzzlement. There were times I would sit for hours on the basically simple math problem and figure it out one way but then when I cross checked it another way it wouldn't work out. arrrgh. 🤣

Did you ever hear the joke about the three guys to get a hotel room and so they paid $30.00 for the three rooms and then the owner realized he made a mistake and gave $5 to the bus boy to return to the occupants. The busboy couldn't divide $5 to three people so he just gave $1.00 each back they would be happy with that discount and he kept $2.00 for himself.

They paid $10 each for the rooms and then got $1.00 back which means they only paid $9 each for their rooms 3 x 9 equals $27 plus the $2.00 the busboy kept equals to a total of $29.00. What happened to the last dollar?🧐

@IsayUncle

This is calculation error. They paid 25 for the room and 2 to the boy. 27 total. 9 dollars each.
They gave 30 first, 3 was returned. So they paid 27 but to the hotel owner, it's 25 and to the boy 2.

@seashell145

The boy's 2 dollars shall not be added to the final equation, it is accounted for in the 9 dollars.

Haha. There was a time I'd be puzzled by this, I see my brain has gotten more mathematical.
