What do I want to improve?
I find this question challenging. I'm working on believing that I am good enough. That I am perfect as I am.
Self improvement is all the rage. But why do I need self improvement if I am good enough as I am?
There are many things I wish I was better at. Self belief is definitely one of those. So I don't believe I'm good enough. How do I improve at believing I'm good enough, without acknowledging that I'm not good enough and need to improve?
I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts on this conundrum.
I'm a perfectly fascinating conundrum that's good enough. 😄 sleep well.
@Clio9876 thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think its great to be mindful about the fact that in this moment, we are good enough and the fact that we try to do our best is all that matters. However, self-improvement also relates to growth: we are always capable to learn more and experience more. Embracing opportunities and changes is something that helps me continue to develop - do you relate?
@SoulfullyAButterfly
Thanks for your interest. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what I think. I love to learn, whether it is about myself, or more classical subjects. I don't think, and I hope, that won't go. And in learning, you change and improve. I think that, after a lifetime of "must do, try, be better" I'm just rebelling a bit and saying, "not for me, at this moment". Maybe I'm swinging too far in the opposite direction. Maybe there is a balance between "I'm good enough" and "I want to improve". You seem to have found one and so maybe I will too. I'm not too bothered about it. More curious about it. I keep coming across ideas that appear to contradict, either a new idea and an old one, or two new ones. Sometimes someone shares a thought that cuts through the confusion, sometimes it comes to me later, or not at all. It's all interesting.
There's a lot of change going on here. Even if I reflect on my post here, it's a bit shocking. In a lifetime of trying to conform and in a thread where everyone is joining in, I've stood up, rebelled and gone, "not me". I hope I've not caused any harm in doing that. I do think I might be using this site to try out things I might not be brave enough to try "in the real world" and there's a risk of taking that too far and doing harm to others. I hope I don't do that, either now or in the future.
I think that's more than enough introspection for one day, don't you 😊. Thanks very much for your time and thoughts. I love and very much appreciate this site and the people I have met on it, yourself included.
My poker face
