☀️How has your week been?… It’s gone well, but busy…. And I’m glad it’s finally Friday!
🌸 What is something you're happy about that has happened recently?…. That it’s officially Springtime! 👍🏼
@QuietMagic
How has your week been?
our week been so so the weather here in northern Michigan been bouncing a lot. so one day the highs like 48F and next day high only 32F. this being that it changing so fast if really affecting us a lot. with the health issues we have it making pain go way up. we not handle fast weather changes well at all.
What is something you're happy about that has happened recently?
this maybe sound bad but we happy about not keeping in contact with a person we was friends with. we had many in the mental health field tell us to stop talking to this person. they was taking and demanding our time and if we did not allow it they threaten to no longer be our friend. but we was taking that and a lot more. some even said it was abuse. well we after letting go of this friendship it shows as we lot happier and more calm too. so yes the person was stressing us out a lot too.
@stormieandpaws
That makes sense re: your body not responding well to the weather being all over the place. 🙁 Is that something that usually continues throughout the spring in Michigan, or one of those quirks of it being a transition point between winter and spring so the weather hasn't decided what it wants to do yet?
Ah, if that's the person you mentioned previously, that makes sense that you decided to stop talking with them based on what you described before. I'm glad that that's been helpful and that you've been able to notice the before vs. after difference in your well-being. 😊
@QuietMagic
for were we had in Michigan it normal for this time of year weather here will bounce a month or two before we get spring weather and sometime we not get much as it goes from winter to summer weather at times. today we got 1 to 3 inches of snow and within next few days we have the snow to to what they call wintery mix then to rain we even to get some ice so it crazy weather right now.
yes it the friend we been talking about. she no longer a friend and we can tell different within our mental state. we did not know fully how much she was affecting our mental state by her words and actions. but we not can spot how she was affecting us. we more at peace not scared it her every time phone go off. so yes was good thing we no longer talking to her.
@stormieandpaws
Sounds like the weather is all over the place!
Right, the word "friend" no longer applies. 😊 It's always amazing when a situation changes and some feelings are lifted and it's like "Wow, I had no idea I would feel this much better".
@QuietMagic
that very true we feeling better mentally after letting this person go.
My week has been a 6/10. 4th week on sertraline and this past week I’ve been feeling down but don’t know if it’s the meds or just me so I gotta give it time to see what’s happening.
something recently that happened that I’m happy about is that I donated blood for the first time this morning! I was anxious but I knew it was for a good cause. I woke up a bit later than expected for my appointment and almost last minute didn’t go but I got up. Put some food in my stomach and went. The staff was so kind walking me through the process and it went well. I’m proud of myself because I get anxiety about trying new things but I did it!
@Priscella
Makes sense that it would be sort of ambiguous whether the feeling down is because of the meds or something else when there hasn't been enough time to get a sense of the patterns. Hope that clarifies itself (preferably by swinging back to normal).
The blood donation experience sounds great! Glad that everyone was really supportive, and definitely a positive impact there. 👍 So the anxiety wasn't so much a needle phobia thing, but more like "I haven't done this before and I'm not sure what to expect/what if something bad or unexpected happens to me physically"?
Yes the not sure what to expect or what if the idea of how it will go doesn’t go how I planned. I like to know what I’m doing etc so I think setting expectations isn’t so good lol
My week has been okay! Good things include getting back into my skincare routine and exercise routines. Bad things have been having slight food poisoning over the weekend, missing my mom a lot, and procrastinating studying for my exams. I'm excited to graduate college in 2 months so I can get back home and be with family ASAP.
I'm very happy about my most recent therapy appointment, where my therapist said I no longer meet criteria for BPD, which is big progress we've made together in the past 6 months!
@StrawberryHufflepuff
Ugh, I'm glad you're feeling better physically (or at least "over the weekend" would suggest it's no longer a thing). 💜 And that sounds great being able to go back home fairly soon (alleviating some of the homesickness), and getting those routines back up and running. Graduating college will be a pretty significant accomplishment as well. 😊 Is the exam difficult, or is the material just boring (lol)?
Going from having a diagnosis to no longer having one really is amazing progress!
@QuietMagic
Yay thank you! Yes the worst of the food poisoning is over thanks to some really strong probiotics haha.
Just finished the test, I think it went okay proportionally to the amount of time I studied. It was for my neuroscience class and I think I was procrastinating just because I’m not that interested in the subject.
Thank you! I’m happy about my mental health progress. I have some other things I have been working on with my therapist that I still need to get through but I’m happy that therapy is working.
Hope all is well with you too!
