January 2019 Leader of the Month - Blaze

It is my great honor to announce @Blaze as a leader of the month for January 2019! Thank you for all that you do for the community. You are an amazing leader! Lets learn more about Blaze and the great work they do on 7 Cups!

What roles or projects are you involved in on 7 Cups?
I am currently a Quality Mentor and I'm qualified to provide Chat Support. I have experience as a Group Moderator, Support Room Leader, Community Mentor Leader and Quality Mentor Leader.
Nowadays, you can find me most often in the Listener Support Room offering resources and chat support. My main focus is Listener quality and making sure that all Listeners have access to the resources they need to thrive!

What has been your biggest accomplishment on 7 Cups?
"This is a difficult question to answer. I'd say my biggest accomplishment was having the courage to take a break when I had so many responsibilities at the same time, and then coming back and keeping a slow, steady pace. Being a Listener (and, I'll add, a Leader) isn't a sprint race, it's a marathon!
I'm just glad to be here and help make the 7 Cups community a supportive and professional place where everyone can find the emotional care they need and deserve."

How would you describe 7 Cups in one word?
Growth

What is your favorite 7 Cups memory?
Becoming a Quality Mentor! It was a turning point for me and I found my true 7 Cups passion: helping others improve their skills and become the best Listeners they can be.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
This question isn't fair, haha! If I have to pick one person, then it's @Power. I looked up to him since I became a Peer Supporter. To me, he's an example of professionalism, patience and kindness. Thank you for everything you do.

If you could have any pet in the world, what pet would you have?
A fox. They're smart, little bundles of pure energy. True, they make the weirdest sounds. But their beauty, fluffiness and lovable behaviour are without pair.

What is your favorite inspirational quote? (and why)
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
Because when someone looks up to someone else, they follow that person's footsteps. The moment I became a Quality Mentor, I realised the weight of that responsibility, and I decided that if I wanted others to do their best, I'd have to do my best first. I believe that whatever positive change I have made is worth it.

If you could give one tip to a brand new listener or member what would it be?
Be kind. Everyone is fighting a battle and kindness is never wasted. You might make someone's day. :)
