Cupsmas Launch Check-In

You’re not late. You’re not behind. You’re right on time.
Whether your tree has been up since November or you’re just now clearing a spot on the table for a single candle, you are exactly where you need to be. As we kick off 15 days of Cupsmas at 7 Cups, we want to start by checking in with you!
❄️ How does this season actually feel for you this year?
❄️ What is one thing on your "holiday to-do list" that you still need to do? Are there things you can let go of?
❄️ What is one tiny, specific thing (a certain scent, a song, a specific mug) that has made it feel like the holidays this week?
Thank you so much for doing this💚
@SoulfullyAButterfly
I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA 🥰
How does this season actually feel for you this year?
This season hasn’t been quite what I expected. A lot of times, I feel sad and empty, especially since I really miss my grandparents. Even with the holidays approaching, I’m struggling to fully enjoy them. Sometimes, the little things that used to bring me joy just don’t feel the same anymore. But I’m trying to accept my feelings as they are and allow myself to just be, without putting too much pressure on myself. However, I feel grateful for my friends here, especially some of them who have been such great friends and support to me. I also feel grateful to God for giving me the chance every day to rise up and try again. I have big hopes for the new year and truly wish that things improve for the world as a whole

I think I’ve set a lot of expectations for myself this holiday season, like trying to get everything perfect or feeling constantly happy. But I’m starting to realize that what’s more important is to be honest with myself and give myself permission to rest, even if the holidays end up being quieter and more subdued. I can definitely let go of some of the pressure and just take things one step at a time.

There hasn’t been much that’s really made it feel like the holidays, but there was one moment when I came across an old photo of my grandparents. I felt like they were still here with me in some way. It was a quiet, emotional moment that made me remember all the beautiful times I shared with them.

1. It feels different, Not like last year, it isn't the same anymore but im still excited to see all my family :)
2. One thing, that's difficult but its probably to cut down this tree that overhangs the roof of my house, I'm afraid it might fall on the roof and make a hole!
3. Probably pine, it reminds me of my old Christmas tree

Maybe it's just me, but the season doesn't feel festive anymore. It just isn't like it used to be or how it was when I was a kid. Ok, yes, we made the decision a few years ago to not celebrate holidays anymore for our beliefs, but still. It still feels different. The sense of family and togetherness just isn't what it is. The inconsistent weather does not help my moods either. Outside of that, life is just life and it just keeps on going. I have no choice but to keep on with the motions of life and taking each day as it comes. :)
Anyway...

I really appreciate you asking the 2d question. It honestly takes so much pressure off just seeing it framed this way. Everything about the holidays can feel so hectic and "all or nothing," so the reminder that we have permission to slow down and simplify is a breath of fresh air.

I love how gentle this invitation feels🥰. Here’s my honest check-in, taking it one question at a time:
One thing still on my holiday to-do list — and what I can let go of:
@SoulfullyAButterfly
Q1. I love this season, although the busyness makes it hard to absorb its special meanings of Joy, Love, and Peace through Jesus Christ's birth. Also, my husband insists on watching the news daily, and it is neither uplifting nor inspiring, and all too repetitive.
Q2. I'm still waiting for all my online shopping to arrive, and I have a lot of wrapping left to do. I eliminated a lot of decorating this year to reduce stress and cleanup.
Q3. Yesterday, I inhaled the aromatherapy blend called Harvest Spice and added it to a hot bath along with Epsom salt. Very relaxing.

I've always liked the winter season, as I'm not too much into being under sunny skies. Love it when it snows, yet, don't like to shovel our driveway. As the youngest in my family, I end up doing most of the shoveling. I also don't like it being dark so early in the day either, sunsetting around 4:14pm.
Holiday to-do list.. not much left to do. My family and I agreed on not buying each other gifts because that is all material things, not really a necessity. Unless it's something that they really want, then, we would all pitch in for that item.
Making it feel like the holiday this week, does looking at the forecast and seeing that my region might be snowing by the weekend count? Also, last night, saw the neighbour across from us had put on lights above his garage. It wasn't there the day before.
