Leadership Spotlight: InternalAcceptance

@InternalAcceptance joined 7 Cups in 2016 and has worked tirelessly over the years to serve our community in a variety of roles. This year, she has stepped into the role of Ambassador and we are so proud of her.
A few folks nominated IA, so we'll include all of them:
Why did you nominate IA?
You are a wonderful listener and supporter and leader and friend. 7 Cups of Tea would be very different without you! xx
They are extremely amazing in what they do, gone over and above for the anonymous evaluations team plus the many roles she does. She's amazing and deserves to be seen. Earnt the Tulip badge and you need to spend some time with her to see why she's the best. We love you Internal <3
They are working very hard and their contribution to this community needs to be appreciated
IA has been serving the 7 Cups (of Tea) community for several years now. She is an excellent example of perseverance with recovery and supporting people. She has contributed a lot to the Addiction community with posts of encouragement and positivity. I'm not involved with addiction but she has been supporting me for several years and I am incredibly grateful to her personally. Recently she has taken on the role of mentor and she keeps spreading her loving positive energy.|
And now a mini interview with IA!
What motivates you to volunteer? What motivates me to be a volunteer is being able to help someone have a better day or at least have someone listen and care about their well being. Volunteering on Cups has added to my work in the mental health field, which I've been very passionate about for a long time as well.
Your proudest 7 Cups achievement: My proudest 7Cups achievement is probably becoming Quality Ambassador. I feel like I'm able to contribute more to the community as well as work towards improving the quality and safety of the website.
If you had one piece of advice for our community (leaders/listeners/members/whoever), what would it be? Prioritize self care. I know that a lot of us want to help as many people as possible but it's easy to get burnt out. Take time in between chats to get up, stretch your legs, grab something to drink. Focus on self care before and after being on Cups as well. If you need to take some time away, that's perfectly okay. Just communicate with the leaders of any teams you may be on.
What's next for you on your 7 Cups journey? I'm aiming to continue to improve the Anonymous Evaluation teams communication and progress. We've come long ways the past several months with the entire team's help, which I'm proud to be a part of. We have some big plans ahead of us that we're working towards and I'm aiming to facilitate those additions.

Great work IA! And wonderful to hear about your impact in the addiction community. I don't hear this space often come up. A long time ago I worked in a 28 day drug and alcohol community detox center. It was some of the most meaningful work. Thank you for being a strong presence in this place and helping people learn how to accept themselves!

@Heather225
