Book challenge! Reading all my books!
Hi!
I have 118 books on my shelf. I have not read all of them, only most. The books range from classics to recent, never opened, to super used, 75 pages to 850 pages. I have books written in A.D. time to just released last year. I have all genres and types, except i don't have any manga. I am excluding cookbooks from this because you cant really read them.
Anywho, from the title you may have guessed what I'm doing. Im going to read all of them. Starting today! Im guessing it will take me about 5 months to get through all of them (i read about 300 pages a day, give or take). I plan on posting all my progress here, like when i finish a book, and what i thought about it. so please, tell me how long you think it will take, i want to hear :D feel free to follow my journey and tell me what books you've read, or just cheer me on :D
****EXCEPTIONS*******
if i get a new book, it will be added on to the end of the list, even tho im reading in alphabetical order by authors last name.
in about 2 weeks i will be receiving my bookclub book for the month. i will stop reading what im reading and read that book. this goes for every month i do this.
there are 2 books im waiting for, and when they come out they immediately be read first. that is all.
So lets do this :D maybe you could try with your books too :D
tagging my friends: @Fluffysheep8 @dragonpixal @semicolon001
Kinda sad to stop reading Front lines by micheal grant, but its kinda boring and its a library book, i can always read it again.
Alright what book is first!
The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams! that's the same guy who wrote Watership down.
this book was given to me by my grandma. it seems a lil boring but who cares im doing this! my copy is super old and beaten up so im taking the dust cover off while i read to keep it safe.
Its about 2 dogs who escape an animal experimentation lab. Seems cool right! ill post here probably tomorrow about my journey idk? i sometimes take the weekends off from forums.
@Jefferythebunny319 Hey, I enjoyed reading Watership Down. Thanks for suggesting another book by that author.
300 pages each day is a lot. Most days; I read on kindle. It's more convenient to me than carrying around paper books.
@Jefferythebunny319,
I love books. But you beat to it though. 300 hundred pages a day is huge!! You can read a lot of books by that rate. It's wonderful to hear that you have such an elaborate verity of books. I may or may not be a tad bit official jealous (shoves it under my SilverMistakes) My hands get practically stiched to some books when I start reading them. In that case I finish it within one day . But I am getting an impression that you will be wayore fast than myself. Maybe 3months . Not sure. But it's a wonderful journey you have choosen!🙂

@SilverMistakes
3 months? I'm definetly gonna try. I love that you love reading <3 alot of my friends don't, so I'm very greatful for the community at 7cups.

@Jefferythebunny319,
Hey !! I don't have much friends here or irl who likes to readb🙌. Just few🌟. I am glad you share the interest🌞!! One more reason to feel greatful about cups community 🎁.
I read but enjoying it the whole time and finding a really good book is almost impossible.
It has always been hard to find a truly great book and these days for me sadly it's basically a lost cause as I'm in the throes of surviving major and multiple grief and loss including disenfranchised and ambiguous.
It's even more intense because I'm learning to look in the mirror and face myself through it all.
Seeing a haunted person in the mirror and realizing vaguely that it's me and all the things I'll have to face is scarier than all the scariest movies, more enraging than every stubbed toe, more sad than oceans of tears combined.
But I got this.
@Dallady
I can definitely understand how you are feeling to some extent, and you are right. You do got this!
@Dallady
Difficult times sucks 😐 , Cannot relate to what you shared, however at the moment I am having my share of misery. Cheers🙌 ( yeah, a terrible thing to toss on but anyway if it's okay by you 🍹🍹? )
Please know that you aren't alone in this. None of us are. We may take plenty of steps back before we take one forward ( why not🌟! We are humans not robots) and it is absolutely alright. Like you said we have got this ! It's okay if it's not much bearable at the moment. But eventually we can manage. It's always bad before it get better. Just like third degree fire burns.. ahem.. The annoying part is it sucks rn . But the bright part is this too shall pass and it will turn better.
And it is frustrating to search for new books ! Scratch that 😾, it's an understatement😓. I usually depends on other book lovers for suggestions(nope I don't thank them enough whoops 😸), then I hit Goodreads for reviews and summery ( I am pretty sure the tiny paragraph on the back cover is not called summery BUT words are just to communicate afterall😅) And when I am in mood for a lovestory, I got to romance io to find the right book. It's easy to pick books I like there. Just telling you what I do. Don't know if it could be useful though ☺️
Senting you lots Hug 🤗🌞 and love ( if okay) . Try to take fantastic care🎁 of yourself 💖 you deserve it ☺️ 🌟.
Whoaaaaa!! @Jefferythebunny319 y'all read soo much!! Mm... I'm a very slow reader yk.. wish I could read as much as u guys do.. Tagging my friend who loves books! (This one's dedicated to u buddy) @tealPlum4679 🎉🎉

and hey I probably have some recommendations considering how much I read XD
Oooo okayyyy!! @Jefferythebunny319
I'd love some good recommendations! (I actually don't know where to start tbh😂)
@compassionateArrow7396
Absolutelly! what do you like to read? lemme recommend some of my favorites from each genre! (note i read mostly young adult but ill throw some adult in there for you <3
for horror- I hunt killers
for romance- Anatomy: a love story or They both die at the end
for scifi- the gone series (my favorite everrrr)
for fantasy- harry potter or percy jackson (Ik basic but im not a huge fantasy nerd)
dog book - the dog who danced by Susan Wilson (this one is an adult book)
mysteries- a good girls guide to murder
manga- my status as an assassin obviously exceeds the heroes (no ending yet because the author got sick)
war books- the perfect horse (is really really good)
and i guess prep school dorm room drama- prolly looking for Alaska.
medical drama- scars like wings
there are so many many more sub genres but my brain isn't functioning. ill also list some of my favorites. i tend to like mystery and horror a bit more than the rest.
my favorites are: Surrender your sons by adam sass , katzenjammer by Francesca zappia , You're next by author with forgotten name, and there are more but i don't want to overwhelm or crowd this post <3
i hope you find one you enjoy
Well done! I have 309 psychology books
@JusticiaPrimalDorogo
309?? That is alot of books! *slight bit of jeffy jealousy* do you have a favorite?
Yes, a, couple of them ☺️
I’m so jealous! I love psychology and my goal in life is to read everything I can about psychology.
Definetly off to a slow start. I was super super busy this weekend and only had about 2 hours to read total TvT. Plague Dogs is pretty interesting *Except* for the dialogue. Im guessing the author is writing in an accent? but the dialogue is a little chaotic and really really hard to read. Lemme share a piece with yall.
"Well, this wayn't do, bidin' soopin ale, Ah'll joost have to be gettin' along now," he said, rising briskly to his feet with a clattter of nailed boots on tiles. "Ah've still a bit to do milkin' cows owd lad. 'Appen if tha had lost dog out o' yon place, tha'd knaw it'd not be woon to be chasin' sheep:so no bother,like"
-plague dogs by adam richard
it gives me a headache sometimes. I'm like halfway done with the book, sadly, but the next few are going to be a breeze, just gotta make it through this one.
well, id like to start this post by saying I am not discouraged. it has taken me a week to read not all of this book. i have been so busy and exhausted Ive barely been reading. one night i went to bed without reading which i haven't done like ever. Ive fallen asleep on top of this book twice. It will be finished either today or tomorrow tho. and i will have read the next 3 books by Monday. I will keep going :0

*excited* I finished plague dogs! i also didn't sleep last night so little women was read as well. it was only 125 pages approx and its a kids book but still.
review time :
plague dogs- 1/10.... it was so hard to understand and i just was not involved and it dragged on forever and idk it just left me unsatified and i wish to not talk about this book ever again and i am going to give away my copy and buy a new book :0
little women (children's adaption)- 6/10 one of my favorite books from my childhood. sparked my love of reading really. was a tad boring to read but that's just because its a children's book and I've read it 100000000 times.
the next book (which I've already started ) is our weighted sky by Hanna Alkaf. its about the Malaysian / Chinese i guess you could say war of 1969. this book started with a warning for *ahem* graphic violence, death, racism, OCD, and anxiety triggers. im really involved in the book right now, and i related to the characters pain of the whole *gotta do the things* even though i don't think i have OCD. its definitely intense though. should finish tonight :D
