Do you have to talk or text someone everyday when you try to get to know them
I’m currently talking to someone but the last month the communication had been drop. So I just wonder is it really important to talk or text them every day. Please leave your comments
It's nice having regular communication but life tends to get in the way, most of the time. Sometimes people aren't in the mood to talk and feel pressured to respond.
I don't think daily is realistic, maybe weekly is a better goal or sometimes people forget. I'm happy when it's quality over quantity.
You can always talk about it and find the right balance for you two :)
Thank you for your response. I wasn’t so sure about the whole situation because I think I might have anxious attachment. When I didn’t hear from him I seem to get anxious and I just feel like he losing interest.
@conscientiousIdea9453 That's fair enough, it's hard to guess what they are thinking and feeling.
For me as long as they keep communicating I see it as a good sign, if they stop, or don't make the effort and it's me starting all the chats, then I think, ok something doesn't feel right.
I don't mind if they say, over the next two weeks I'm busy or I can't chat as much, as long as they honest.
It helps to focus on other things too, anything really, I used to love getting into a new book :)
@conscientiousIdea9453 Imo, definitely not. Talking/texting every single day just seems tiring and draining to me, but I'm not a "talker" in real life. I'm a person who likes my space. I get everyone is different though. Some people are into constant, frequent conversations for connections and that's ok. It's best to talk with the person and find balance. 😀 Life can be busy for everyone so sometimes schedules dont align. Hope you have a nice day.
Thank you so much for the reply. You are right. I guess i just need a little reinsurance. Actually since he hadn’t contacted me that much I been working in myself. I been trying to get busy and think positive. And talking to some people here in 7 cups it’s help a lot
@conscientiousIdea9453 Aww, this is wonderful news! I'm so proud of you for making time to work on yourself and prioritizing yourself with your time available. I love this for you! I find 7 Cups to be a safe place for me too, so I'm really glad you have this platform. ❤️
@YourCaringConfidant 😂 I'm so tempted to bug you daily now 😍
@ScrabbleBrain 🤣😂

@YourCaringConfidant sickly sweet blindness, I thought I was cruel 🤩😂
Daily communication is one of my needs in a relationship and also when dating. This is something that I would communicate with them on, to establish each other’s communication expectations and needs. This way you can identify if they’re really a good fit for you. Everyone has different communication needs in a relationship. There can be exceptions, like if someone has an emergency, or if someone gets really sick; but it’s a good idea do flush that stuff out in the open, so you don’t get surprised or disappointed later on.
@conscientiousIdea9453 Daily texting can be great when you guys want to see each other's messages. Yeah, quality over quantity. Saving your time to love yourself is the best idea instead of texting just to know each other.
For some of us, contact every day in some way is a healthy relationship need. If you're feeling you need more than what you're getting (within healthy boundaries), then I encourage you to have a conversation where you request some more effort. It doesn't always have to be a lot. For some people, a "good morning" text or an evening "good night" text is enough, or even a simple "thinking of you" during the day.
It may be that your partner is genuinely exhausted and drained, and it's important to honor their needs, too. So for those days, it's important that y'all determine a "minimum" communication boundary. And on days where you both have more energy, maybe instead of texts, it can be calls/visits.
The right answer will depend on you and your partner's needs, so a discussion must be had. Try to have it when you're both having a good day. It's not good to talk when we're too heavily in our feelings.
Wishing you all the best!!
I belive this is up to you if you want a partner that communicates everyday there nothing wrong with that. I would bring it up to them and see has anythung recently happended in the life for why communication went down. Or even if yall are compatible when it comes to the communicate part.
