Mom wants me to war Medical ID bracket for just a walk around the block or for Volunteer church job

So I wish my Mom wouldn't bother me so much about wearing my medical ID when I either go for a walk or go to my church for my volunteer job.    She's always joking that I'm "naked" when I been at work without the medical ID.  I only got the ID about 2020/2021 and before then i had been taking walks and going to the church with 0 medical ID for years with no problems.

I only see the point in wearing it if I'm going into Toronto w/ Mom or going to Pickwick Town Centre with or without Mom but just trapezing around the normal haunts-no point in during it I think.

I might wear the Medical ID  if I was going up North to the Baskin Robins up there because that's not a normal haunt for me.

@Disneywoman I'm bad for not wearing mine plus I actually need to get a new one due to diagnoses.

I at least have ICE set up on my phone, I usually have that with me.

@AffyAvo  I don't have a phone that can do that the phone is strictly for calling for a ride, or to tell Dad to pick me up from a bowling alley,  or for me to tell them I got to the mall okay or i'm on the bus home.

@AffyAvo I just I had been taking walks  or going to my church for my volunteer jobs with nothing bad happening for years before I got a medical ID.   So I don't think there's anything that would happen in those areas.

I only see the point in wearing the Medical ID if I'm going out of town for any reason other reason I don't see the point.

@Disneywoman It does depend somewhat on your health issues.

I've had an anaphylactic reaction at home alone before. Never did figure out what to and terrifyingly it severely impacted my functioning at the time. I know something can happen to me on a short walk. I did slip and injured myself this past winter. No help needed at the scene, but it could have been different if I hit my head.

We do not get to choose when some accident or emergency type of situation occurs. If we did no accidents or such would occur.

Many emergencies happen in familiar close to home spots vs somewhere less familiar. If anything did happen it would probably be better to have it then not.

Maybe knowing you are wearing the medical alert makes you mom feel better about you doing this without her.

@toughTiger6481  the only times any medical emgercny happened was when I was either a baby,  a 1year old and then until last year  the last emgercny happened the year I turned 10.    Then last year when i turned 35.    I just don't see the point in the medical ID period,  unless I was sleeping overnight somewhere else like I did in July due to what happened when I was 10.

I wear a wrist based one permanently, in my case I'm on medication that any first aider or medics needs to be aware of due to the danger of internal bleeds for any impact injuries. If you become non communicative one of the first things a mesic will check is your pulse, so what is the harm in wearing one, better be safe than a sorry.

@RunningMachine  I don't wear the Medical ID in the house. I'm only wear it out of the house at least to Toronto,  or to the Mall.    I just don't see the point in wearing the Medical ID for walks I have taking for a long time without any medical ID or to go to the church which I have also been going to for a long time.    I only see the point of medical ID if I  was going out of town or at least to a different part of town then my normal haunts.

The only emergency I see needing medical ID,  not counting car crashes-which I'm terrified of because of My Dad's bad habit  which is another story entirely, would happen when I wasn't awake, like what happened back in  2000/2001.
