there’s something I’m struggling really hard with … most of it is unexplainable kind… and maybe because of the reason that most of it I haven’t understood or possibly accepted myself but like it’s still so tuff to deal with these thoughts and so many emotions … conflicting ones ..

how does moving on from someone who was once vv important to you and who claimed to luv you but ended up abondoning you for no reason… look like?

is it possible to move on without closure?

quite literally clueless on what moving on even means… can someone help explain it a little.. or share any experiences or personal thoughts on it??

how does one even know they’ve moved on?

more importantly …. how to move on??

there’s like a million thoughts in my brain rn…. all meanieeee and unhelpful… I’d really appreciate any insight or gentle word here 😭

First things I’m really sorry that you’re in this position. It is a very sad and a very tough position to be in and I totally understand how you feel. Athe end of the day break ups are different for everybody so I can only imagine how you feel especially without actually getting closure on why it happened the way it did.

Based on my experience moving on is very complex because there is no manual to it. Sometimes you might feel like time has passed by and you feel like you’re better, you feel like you’re happier and then suddenly  some things might just trigger your emotions and just bring it all back especially if you’re moving on from somebody that you actually really cared about.

So it is tough and I want you to know that a lot of people find it difficult to move on, and the conflicting thoughts and emotions you’re having in your head is all normal.  it’s a normal response but it’s eventually goes away.

I personally think moving on is like a memory about somebody that was present at the time when the event was happening and overtime they start to fade because they don’t hold so much importance anymore and one day you will look back and it’s just an experience. It doesn’t take away from the trauma that comes with breaking up with somebody that you loved or the feeling that about the way they made you feel, but you’ll be better and you'll feel almost grateful.

I want you to always remember that whatever and however, the relationship ended, you remain the most important person in the picture. You are loved and I want you to know that I am always here to virtually support you. It gets better.

@Optimisticempath thank you for openness and for sharing. It takes a lot of courage to post! Moving on without closure can be very difficult and might seem very tough at times. However, it is definitely not impossible.

Hanging on to someone you've loved and refusing to let go is proof of the depth of the love you felt for them. Knowing that, it's important to accept that they are no longer a part of your life and that you will continue without them. They might show up in your life at times, when you remember their favorite food, listen to their favorite song, or simply read something that you relate to them. It's important in such cases to acknowledge that you remember them, make sure that it doesn't affect you negatively, and allow the feelings to come and go.

Moving on looks like you can carry your day normally without thinking about them. Sometimes for a few hours, days, or even more. But it doesn't mean they won't resurface and it doesn't mean what you felt for them wasn't real.

Once again, thank you for sharing. Open for a discussion if you feel like it.
