I am relatively new to 7cups as a listener, but I think it's good you are trying to clarify it's image in light of misunderstanding.

"How do we know the Qur'aan is a preserved scripture sent by God/Allah?

So there are lots of ways to make sure that the Quran is a preserved book. Some of them are :
1/ in the book itself it is mentioned that Allah will protect it.(في كتاب محفوظ)
*** There are scientific miracles in the Quran mentioned thousands of year before even finding explanation for them scientifically. Like the two sees that don't mix.
* the word "day" is mentioned 365 times, matching the number of days in a year.
* The word "month" is repeated 12 times, corresponding to the number of months in a year.
* Regarding chromosomes, the word man and the word woman is listed each 23 times which is the number of pairs of chromosomes of each person
Indeed It is preserved through:
*2/Mass Memorization: Millions have memorized the full text with the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him (and they all momerized the same text)
3/Written Records: It was written down by thousands of people just after the death of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
4/Historical Consistency: There are early manuscripts match today's text which is the same all over the planet
For example if you go to Russia, America, Japan, South Africa... Any country you will find the same Quran the same holy book as the books preserved in museums for hundreds of years.

Sorry, but I have negative view of Islam. I dont think Mohammed was real prophet, mostly because of his actions (conquest and military campaigns) Also, I have problems with his marriage to Aisha, she was 6 years old at that time, she was playing with dolls. I also have negative view of polygamy. How many wives Mohammed had?

Bismillah The Prophet Muhammad had eleven wives in his lifetime, though he had nine at the time of his death.
His marriages, particularly those after the death of his first wife, are viewed by many as having social, political, and compassionate motivations.
* Khadija bint Khuwaylid: His first and only wife for 25 years until her death. He married her at the age of 25(when she was 45 elder than him with 20 years) . She was a wealthy merchant and a widow who chose to trust him with her trade.Tend she found him to be honest with her. As he was known as the Honest and Trustworthy one, she was impressed and wanted to marry him. Their marriage was one of mutual respect and support.
* Sawda bint Zam'a: She was one of the first converts to Islam and a widow who had been forced to migrate to Abyssinia. After her husband's death, the Prophet married her to provide for and protect her.
* Aisha bint Abu Bakr: The only virgin he married. Her age is not mentioned in the Quran but when she was 6 she agreed to get engaged (Traditional Islamic sources, like the Hadith collections of Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, state that Aisha was six years old when she was engaged to the Prophet Muhammad and nine when the marriage was consummated.
However, some modern scholars and historians have questioned this, suggesting she was older based on other historical evidence, such as the age difference between her and her sister Asma. They propose ages ranging from 15 to 19 at the time of the marriage)
She accepted and actually wanted to marry the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. And she had a happy marriage with him where she was served by maids and was honored (she didn't have children ). She always mentioned that she was very happy with that life. He didn't deprive her from anything.
* Hafsa bint Umar: A widow whose husband was martyred. Her marriage to the Prophet established a strong bond with her father, Umar, another key companion and future second caliph.
* Zainab bint Khuzaima: Known as the "Mother of the Downtrodden," she was a widow whose husband died in battle. He married her to provide for her, but she passed away a few months later.
* Umm Salama (Hind bint Abi Umayya): A widow with four orphans whose husband died in a battle. He married her to care for her and her children.
* Zainab bint Jahsh: She was his cousin and had been divorced by his adopted son, Zayd. The marriage was divinely sanctioned to abolish the pre-Islamic practice that forbade marrying the ex-wife of an adopted son, establishing a new legal precedent.
* Juwayriya bint al-Harith: A captive from a tribe defeated in battle. He married her to protect her and, upon his marriage, her entire tribe converted to Islam and were freed, strengthening relations and demonstrating mercy.
* Umm Habiba (Ramla bint Abi Sufyan): A widow whose husband converted to Christianity after they fled to Abyssinia. She was the daughter of Abu Sufyan, a leader of the Quraysh, his most powerful enemies. The marriage helped reconcile the two groups.
* Safiyya bint Huyayy: A leader's daughter from a defeated Jewish tribe. She chose to embrace Islam and marry the Prophet, which protected her and her people.
* Maymuna bint al-Harith: A widow who wanted to marry the Prophet. This marriage created a political alliance with a powerful tribe and was his last marriage.
He married peace be upon him divorced woman, widows, virgin and honored them to inspire people who dislike it that it is something good indeed the prophet did it 😀

I see from your profile, you dont like LGBTQ community. Islam treats LGBTQ community badly. In worst case, groups like ISIS were exterminating LGBTQ people.
Supporting or not the LGBTQ is a personal opinion. In fact a research in 2019 has shown that more than 65% of Europe and 40% of America DON'T support LGBTQ even though they ARE NOT Muslim nations and the majority of those who don't believe in it don't even believe in God. Further more, lots of christian countries and governments like Russia banned it based on science. Do you think Islam even contributed to that ??? No it didn't because in the Holy Quran you have the freedom to choose to do anything you want but you will finally be responsible for the consequences of what you did.
Can you tell me how Islam treated them badly ? What makes you think that?

Well, obviously LGBTQ is haram in your religion. All scholars agree on that. Infact, homosexual acts are considered as bad as shirk, murder and adultery. Anyway, you cannot force your opinions on others. You have that freedom, to have your opinion as long as you dont force it by violence. (at least in western countries) Of course, that wouldnt be true under rule of taliban...but thats another story.
Taliban and ISIS ARE NOT ISLAM. They are doing what's AGAINST Islam please understand that.
(Well Islam gives you the total freedom to believe in what you want but of course you are responsible for what you do)
I think to understand the situation you have to check WHY did Islam make it Haram ? The reason of prohibiting it. Because everything prohibited in Islam has it's convincing reason.

Cousin marriage is Hala because they can have children. When you marry someone you same gender you can't have children.

As I said there is a risk of 3% for normal people (who aren't cousins) and between 4/5% for cousins. So there is always a risk.
By the way cases of disabled children whose parents aren't relatives are more than cases of children whose parents are relatives. So there is always the risk.

A study in generic and medical research shows that the risk of birth for general population is 3% but for cousins marriage between 4 % and 5%
Let's clarify something: ISIS does NOT represent Islam(by the way it is funded by America 😀). They are doing what's AGAINST the rules of islam. You said they killed innocent people so here are few examples in the Holy Quran that prohibit harming others even with words.The Quran prohibits the unjust killing of a person. A key verse that conveys this is:
Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:32):
> "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain all of mankind. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved all of mankind."

Other relevant verses include:
* Surah An-Nisa (4:93): "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is ***, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah will be angry with him and curse him and prepare for him a mighty punishment."
* Surah Al-Isra (17:33): "And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by way of justice and law." This verse is often interpreted to mean that the only valid reasons for taking a life are for capital punishment or self-defense.
* Surah Al-Baqarah (2:190): "Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors." This verse lays down the principle of not exceeding limits, even in a defensive war.

The Quran, the central religious text of Islam, does not explicitly prescribe a worldly punishment for apostasy, instead warning of punishment in the afterlife.
There is a Hadith but it's not so confirmed.
Because in the Quran you have the right to choose everything you want to do(your religion, your beliefs...) but you will be responsible for your actions

I have hard to believe that after seeing actions of many muslims (threaning others for leaving) Also, I have seen reactions of many muslims, when they are critized or made fun of (Mohammed and Islam)
I understand that there are many misconceptions about Islam due to the wrong behavior of few muslims. That's why I decided to create this post 😊
Well when someone is Muslim it doesn't mean that he doesn't make mistakes . Everyone mistakes we are all humans. But what's unacceptable is when a believer pretends to be perfect and pretends to be 100% correct in everything. Those people (you saw threatening others and killing them with no sufficient reason )are ignorant and lack sufficient knowledge to act which gives a negative and bad image to the Islam.
That's why I said that you shouldn't believe everything you hear on the media or when you see someone being disrespectful under the title of "Islam" because Islam never calls for terrorism
In order to avoid those common mistakes due to ignorance I invite you to read the Quran with the EXPLANATION and learn more about the sources of information before believing them.
For example Al Imam Ahmad (a great Imam and jurist who knew 1 million Hadith for the prophet peace be upon him) when he was asked who can make fatwa (A fatwa is a formal legal opinion or ruling on a point of Islamic law. It is given by a qualified educated Islamic scholar, called a mufti, in response to a question from an individual, judge, or government.
A fatwa is considered an authoritative opinion but is generally not legally binding. It serves as guidance on various aspects of life, from religious rituals to social and economic matters).
They asked him can someone who knows 100000 hadiths do it?? He said NO (because he still lacks enough knowledge). Someone who knows 200 thousands Hadith??? He said NO( he lacks enough knowledge) someone who knows 300.000 Hadith??? He said NO (he lacks knowledge) well someone who knows 400.000 Hadith ???

Why do you think is that ?? To avoid mistakes and releasing wrong ideas about Islam.
Imagine then someone who doesn't pray, doesn't read the explanation of the Holy Quran, someone who doesn't know the sunna of the prophet peace be upon him ( his life and actions and WHY he acted in those ways)
He doesn't know from Islam only the "chahadatayn". Can he make fatwas???
No absolutely not. That's why now we are suffering from the wrong vision and rumors spreading about Islam and making it look like terrorism instead of its truth as the religion of mercy, kindness, responsibility hope and guidance by Allah the most powerful the merciful❤️
@AReineRose Where did you get the notion that ISIS is "funded by America"? I'm not as much into foreign affairs as I was around four years ago but I still check on them every so often. No info source with any reliability, from what I've seen thus far, indicates our government is financially supporting Da'Esh. Indeed, in our last war effort before the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan we helped Syrian forces drive ISIS fighters out of the territory they'd taken.
@slowdecline48 this is history. Because the history of ISIS goes before the war of Iraq America helped create ISIS(they are not the correct Islam. THEY ARE DOING WHAT'S AGAINST ISLAM) in order to beat Iraq and they funded it to help them do it(because those isis also want to occupy the Arabic countries and create their own country which is obvious from their name دولة الإسلام من العراق إلى الشام). And we all know that america found nothing in Iraq despite of the huge war they did there. After that isis stoped helping america because they want to create their own country and this is why they started to fight. Because america firstly created that to destroy Iraq and Syria but then even those isis wanted to take those countries.
You see they all want to occupy others countries it's just who started it and I hope that's clear for you now
@slowdecline48 that America supported/funded ISIS is actually a common belief where I live. Political games, and all that. It's a general belief that larger terrorist organizations were thus funded by western countries as long as they were beneficial to them...but then the tables turned on them 🤷♀️

Well yes man will have houris but woman will be waaaay better that houris which means houris will look nothing next to woman.
About how human will be (man or woman) in Jannah we won't be the same (our appearance, bodies weight height.... Will change) you have to make a deep research about that (veeery deep research because it is not an easy topic) man and woman can choose to stay with their life spouses or not (everyone chooses with who to stay)
This is an advanced topic in Islam to think about(the afterlife) (علم العيب) because we have a very limited information about it. you have to know primary things first.
I am baptised and Christian and find Islam a very interesting religion but haven't really found the time to really look into it. I have played with the thought of converting to Islam since I had a very pleasant experience with the community. During world cup I was watching the football match between turkey and Austria with two Turkish friends. As Turkey won, we went on the streets and celebrated. I was so welcomed in that group of people and all of them were happy that I came.
In my city there are many Muslims. Can I as a Christian date a Muslim woman?
How do you pray? How often do you pray? Can I pray if I have time or do I have to pray a certain amount of time?
How do I learn more about the culture as a Christian?

@thisisghostrider Muslim woman can't engage with non-muslim man. But if you love that girl you can convert to Islam and then marry. I know so many man who was Christians but they converted to Islam and married their Muslim lovers. I see it's so sweet they pray together, she teaches him about Islam,,,
Thanks for answering in depth. So conversion happens quite often from Christianity to Islam? Didn't know that. What would be the requirements? Someone told me that if I say the confession of faith I will become automatically Muslim.
@thisisghostrider the shahadatan (confession) requires a total willing and being 100% sure and convinced that you want to convert (in fact the shahadatan are two parts: The Shahada (or Shahadatayn) is the Islamic declaration of faith. It's the first of the Five Pillars( I said corners 😅) of Islam.
So that's a very low hurdle to start with :D
And ideally I want to do it Infront of witnesses. Which I have in my friend circle.
in Christianity you have to be baptised to become a Christian Whereas the shahadatan is the important step. I really start liking islam

@thisisghostrider prayer is one of the five corners of Islam (أركان الإسلام الخمسة) and it is considered the base of Islam because those who steal are sinners but still Muslims however those who don't pray are only believers not muslims. So it's not a choice whenever you want to pray you do whenever not you neglect it.
It has got it's requirements (الوضوء ، الطهارة) like wudhu tahara (cleanliness)
We do pray 5 times a day every prayer is about 5 mins (it depends on the suras you will read) the Fajr prayer (2)before the sun rises. Al Dhohr(الظهر)(4) about 12:30 here in my country then asr(4) 16:00 Maghreb(3) before the sun sets and finally ishaa (عشاء)(4) about 20:05.
Each prayer has her own number of rakaats (ركعات) those numbers I wrote. And it has her order of steps you can make a search on it.
And we can pray alone or together جماعة in the masjid.

@thisisghostrider yes sure(ʘᴗʘ✿) as I said the prayer time for example for Duhr starts at 12:30 and ends with the asr (that is called preference time :you can pray it in any time you want. But you have to delay it only for a reason like work or study...) after that time it becomes قضاء صلاة فائتة)
Failing to perform a prayer on time requires it to be made up immediately, regardless of the reason (e.g., sleeping, forgetting, or negligence).
* Rule: The make-up prayer (Qada') is an immediate obligation and shouldn't be delayed without a valid reason.
* Timing: You can make up a missed prayer at any time, even during disliked times, because it's a prayer with a specific reason.
* Order: If you have multiple missed prayers, you should make them up in the correct order (oldest first). However, if you're worried about missing the current prayer's time, you should pray the current one first, then make up the missed one.

If you ever decided that Islam is the right choice and you want to convert. I think it's recommended to ask for an Imam for information. But here are the basic requirements
Conversion to Islam primarily requires a sincere belief in its core tenets. The main requirement is to recite the Shahadah, the declaration of faith. This statement affirms that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger. The recitation must be made with conviction and understanding. While witnesses are not required for the conversion to be valid, they may be helpful for official documentation.And you have to perform Ghusl which is the full-body ritual purification(it has got it's own order and steps). it's an obligatory part of conversion, . It is performed after the declaration of faith.

I think it will be nice to inform deeply about the five corners of Islam (the shahadatan, the salat (prayer) al zakat , fasting , and hajj if possible) and also it will be beneficial if you read the Quran WITH THE EXPLANATION.
