We would love to hear your views!

Hello everyone!
As we begin to build the Safety & Knowledge Community to bigger strengths, I believe it is absolutely vital that we get your feedback so that we know your views and this will enable us to work towards a pathway forward as we build the foundations.
The better the foundations the more beautiful the tree, the more colourful it will be, and all of you are a part of the foundations.
If you could please help us by filling in our feedback form, we promise we will read every response and take your views on board the best we can.
Please fill in the feedback form here
We look forward to reading your valuable feedback and thank you for taking the time to share your views.

@iCareUK
You are welcome!!
Thank you for your efforts to make Cups the safest possible place. I heard firsthand some horror stories, so I take this issue very seriously. Safety is at the core of making Cups a supportive, therapeutic place for all.
All the best!
@HealingTalk
Absolutely, you just spoke the most powerful words imaginable! <3
@iCareUK
I am glad to be on the same page with someone so committed to Safety.
I wish I could do more.
All the best, and stay safe!

Please don't let teenage members onto the adult side.
@purpleTree4652
Hi Purple,
If teenage members are on the adult side, they will have entered an incorrect birthday on their profiles, it can easily be done.
If you come across a teen on an adult account, please report this here
@iCareUK
Hi, UK,
Thanks. I recently told a high level person at 7cups that several teenage members contacted me on the adult side. This was the response I got; "Forum is an open space and accessible by both sides, so that allows them to comment on any post and probably they do not realize either that they responding to an adult situation."
I don't know what to say. If that person and I were understanding each other correctly, that 7Cups person not only doesn't seem to think it's a problem, but thinks it's normal and accepted here at 7cups.
I'll tell you though. I'm going to start to check every person's profile before I respond to them. Because I don't want to talk to teenagers. Not only is my life experience very troubled and dark at times, they don't have the depth and breadth of experience to respond appropriately. With one of them, that person kept insisting that how I choose to feel each day will determine whether I have a good day or a bad day. I explained that it isn't that easy because I have PTSD and clinical depression and a chemical imbalance. Then that person offered to text with me. I said no thanks, but looked at their profile and saw they are a teenager.
That going round in circles with that particular teenager became annoying very quickly because my response and thought was that it was an adult who was choosing to not understand me and was trying to "make light" of my conditions and experiences. Then I saw it was a teenager and I thought, 'that explains everything.'
I've had 3 teenagers post responses to me in the past week or two.
If I find that another teenager is attempting to chat with me, I'll report them on the form link you gave to me.
Thanks.
Hi Purple,
I'm very concerned about this.
If you know these teenagers usernames, please send them to me in a private message and I will explore this.
Admins are also a part of this questionnaire so I will follow up with them.
If you could send me the usernames, I will take a look, investigate and take any appropriate action.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention as this can become a problem in terms of safety.

Can I just say, the feedback up to now is very powerful, I love the responses and will absolutely help in creating a more robust system.
Admins are on this too, so rest assured, Admins are reading responses as am I when I am putting growth plans forward to them.
Thank you all for your love and support <3
@iCareUK
I appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback on the Safety & Knowledge Community, but I have to say that the current state of moderation is simply not enough. There are sexist and racist comments being thrown around in group and private chats on a daily basis, and until the moderation team takes a stricter approach and actually implements measures to keep harmful individuals from becoming active listeners, nothing is going to change.
As a female, it is impossible for me to even make a general chat request without the overwhelming likelihood of being hit with sexist and offensive comments from male listeners. And forget about discussing the sexism that I and others experience in the group support chats, because it always leads to being harassed by multiple men at once, even when moderators are present.
So please, let's stop talking about building a beautiful tree and colourful foundations, and instead focus on creating a community that is actually safe and inclusive for everyone. We need real action and real change, not just another feedback form
@butterlycow
Hello Butterly,
I appreciate your honest feedback, and the points you make are valid and welcomed by me personally, because this is what I hope to achieve.
Unfortunately, this is a process of growth, and the CM team have asked for these things in particular before we can grow things further.
My aim is that the Safety Team will be able to receive reports and act accordingly and at the time, whilst supporting people who have experienced such issues.
I would love to roll my full plans out immediately but that isn't possible right now.
Believe me when I say, I hear you loud and clear, I share your thoughts and vision and I'm trying my hardest to get there.
Please inbox me if you wish to discuss any further <3 I'm happy to speak to you
@iCareUK
Thanks for helping our the community by keeping everyone safe.
@iCareUK
dont allow people to select custom usernames until after their account is 15-30 days old, or until it's been manually reviewed. too many trolls are making obscene usernames, and if they were blocked from being able to do this, they wouldn't get as much enjoyment from it.
next, anyone who gets reported (listener OR member) should have the report prioritized based on how old their account is. new accounts are more likely to be more egregious rule violations requiring immediate action.
finally, make some kind of "shadow banning" procedure to deal with trolls. if you just ban them, they create new accounts. shadow banning means their account looks correct to them, but they take longer to connect. this keeps them from just making a new account.
@iCareUK
thiss is great! thank you soo much for all you do <3 what an amazzing team ! :') *shares looadza appreciation*
