Profile Flagging - USERNAME/BIO
This is taken from the Community Guidelines. There's always grey areas, so if you are unsure, please ask or pass along the username in question to one of the staff (Kate, Laura, Power, myself). We will review accounts on a case-by-case basis.
Bio Guidelines
Do not link to other social media accounts or share any of your personal contact information.
Do not include any graphic or inappropriate language (ex. excessive cursing, slurs)
Username Guidelines
Avoid using graphic or inappropriate language in your username.
@Heather225 Thank you for the clarifications!
I think I've just noticed a mistake. It should say, "Do not link to your own social media accounts..."
Some people link to other social media accounts, and this seems pretty harmless. For example, they might link to other people's blogs that contain useful resources, or to the Facebook pages of helpful organizations.
@Heather225
@RarelyCharlie the custom search engine you created and have on your feed to search for keywords in members and listener profiles/usernames is still functional ? thats something that could help a lot i think
Yes, it still works. I had forgotten about it, to be honest. Direct link: Search for profiles
@jennysunrise8
@RarelyCharlie really useful ! you can even sort by date the profile was created newest first with keywords
@RarelyCharlie just typed in the word gmail there are so many ! havent tried skype yet yea a lot of different word possibilities
@ ... That's interesting. How did you create this ? @RarelyCharlie
It's a Google Custom Search. It searches for whatever text you supply in pages whose URLs look like: www.7cups.com/@* (where * means "anything").
If you only want member profiles, for example, my website refines the search for you by adding: "Member Profile - Member" to the text you supply (which is why you see that in bold in the results).
@faithlove1111
@RarelyCharlie thank you for sharing.
@RarelyCharlie
This is awesome charlie thanks!
What happens when a users profile is flagged?
@Heather225
@enlightenedTree32 id like to know too i dont think anyone should be punished and get their account deleted unless they knew they did something wrong that they broke a rule here the sexual profiles they know what theyre doing is against 7cups policy but does a new listener know and the other guidelines do these people know theyre breaking the guidelines ?
@jennysunrise8
They don't get auto deleted :) They get a chance to fix their mistake. We're all learning and growing.
@EvelyneRose oh great
yes always judge in context including taking into account the fact they dont know it wasnt allowed it would probabally be a good idea to have that there when someone is creating their profiles that those are the guidelines when they are creating their profile it could just be automated so simple and there would be a lot less to flag
@Heather225
Super important Heather, thanks for stating the rules so clearly!
It's important that we appear friendly and approachable yet professional at all times.
Got it!
Do we flag a feed post as inappropriate if that is where their personal contact is? Or do we flag the page?
@delicatdreamer16
I know I'm not Heather, but I'd say flag the profile and indicate in the flag description box that the contact info is in their feed.
