Apologies for Site Glitch - Problem Resolved

User Profile: Heather
Heather January 19th, 2016

Hey everyone,

We experienced a site glitch earlier where all listeners received the ability to moderate the chat rooms and delete forum posts. I want to apologise for this, and for any confusion it caused during that time.

The problem has now been resolved. I would like to reassure you that all forum posts have been restored, and any warnings/mutes that were given during that time have been removed from your accounts.

Thank you to all of you that helped to reassure everyone and communicated with admin to help us quickly resolve the problem.

Everything is back to normal now. Please post here if you spot anything else out of the ordinary.

Thank you!

Can you unban someone? They didn't do anything wrong and they were just banned.

@ARIELLEHYPNOTHERAPIST123 - does the problem persist after refreshing your browser?

Huge thank you to the admin and technical teams for bringing this under control so quickly and getting everything back to normal! Can you confirm that no personal data was exposed during this glitch? Email addresses, IP addresses, passwords, personal messages, etc.

@soothingpurrr, yes - I can confirm this. Basically what happened was that certain badge-enabled permissions were accidentally granted to all listeners, but none of these privileges extend to the administration of the database or the back-end services of the site.

So, just as now a forum mentor can delete posts or a group chat mod can mute someone, but they cannot see into anyone's account, etc., so accidentally extending these privileges to listeners in general also did not also confer and such access to private information.

UPDATE: We understand this glitch may have continued over night & into this morning. We are sorry for any confusion it may have caused. We are hopeful the problem is now solved & you will no longer see messages get deleted in chatrooms.

This was a glitch accidentally created on our end on Monday. We have continually been fixing it and are hopeful it will no longer be a problem.

Hi- I know this is an old thread but I have no clue where else to post this but I'm having some glitches on a forum post. I keep getting notifications that someone has replied to a post that I made but whenever I go see the post it disappears. I can only see the posts that I have made in the thread and but not the previous ones that I had replied to with another person (or that the other person has posted). How should this be resolved?

@FantasiaSweetShock

Hmm that sounds like and odd glitch! Have you tried reporting it to our dev team? I think they are the most qualified people to help you there.

You can contact them by sending a support ticket at the bottom of this page.

Hope this helps!
