New on the 7Cups Blog:Traveling with anxiety
@poeticguy
this is cool! :)
I wouldn't be able to travel anywhere without my iPod; the music keeps me calm and distracted. If it's a particularly long journey then I take two iPods, or one iPod and a back-up charger so that I'm never without music on my journey.

I can't travel without someone beside me . If I travel alone without any support I feel like all the attention is on me and it makes me nervous and I feel very vulnerable 😥
@Imsourwolf
I feel the same!!
I need to take breaks...like if there's a long car journey. I would need to stop at services whenever there are some
Wow, I thought I was the only one who felt anxious before travelling. Its so bad that I would cry out of fear of feeling inferior/ not enough around new people in new places. I hope others can relate to the same kind of anxiety. I'm trying to not imagine the worst case scenario before I travel and have realised that I enjoy my trips way more when my attitude toward them is positive from before. I hope others can use this tip and try to alter their anxiety ![]()

when I travel I have to someone with me and I to have my smartphone give give some comfort sounds daft but it keeps me calm
@poeticguy
Every time I travel, which is a lot, I am so paranoid of how everyone else sees me, it's so stressful.
I love to travel! Being airports is so exciting to me for some reason.
I never used to have much anxiety about flying, but now sometimes little bumps and turbulence in the air causes me to get very nervous. I think I've watched too many movies where things end badly for those on board :-o
Music helps a lot for me though and I love to read while I fly. Snacks are always a must. And sometimes the people you sit next to can be a great distraction!
I love to travel & discover new places but I can get pretty anxious about what to expect or long car rides. If it's a long car ride I try to take stops every once in a while to get out of the car & take a breather. For some reason looking up the estimated time on a gps map helps me feel better because I know how long it'll take me to get there. I also like to listen to podcasts. I love music but when I need a bigger distraction podcasts help because they get me to think more about something other than what I'm doing.
