What is the most mysterious thing to you about 7 Cups?
Everything comes with a mystery. We are very open and honest with one another on 7 Cups. However, do you ever find something mysterious or worth wondering about?

The name!
When I first found this site randomly, I couldn't believe how someone could name a community so great like this one with so much potential as "7cupsoftea"?!
If I deliberately tried to think of an irrelevant name it wouldn't be as irrelevant as that.
It is still a mystery to me, a funny one as well.

This mystery had me stumped for quite a while when I joined too, so don't worry, you're not alone there! This website was actually named after a famous Chinese poem by Lu Tong which suggests that each cup provides a different level of healing. You can find the poem and more info on this here.

It most definitely is a thing. Anything can become addictive. Cheese is now considered just as addictive as cocaine! That explains a lot.

The most mysterious thing to me about 7Cups isssssssssssssssssssss.............. how we all fit together as a community like pieces of a puzzle, working as a team to better the world, despite our differences. It's our diversity that makes us special, and we unite to make a difference. It's pretty mysterious how everyone is just so awesome and warm-hearted!
Also, I find it pretty mysterious how Noni disappeared then reappeared again, oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh, maybe she'll dress as a robot ghost for Halloween? What do you think?
Other than that, it's quite mysterious how such a large community works so well together, with more and more people coming everyday. Any light to shed on the secret behind this?

Noni is our effort to provide support to those who are waiting to get connected to a listener. Many people who reach out to 7 Cups are just longing for some interaction. Having a chat presence is like a bridge that we can give them while they get a real human listener. Noni has been a work in progress. We are trying to make her more intelligent and empathic so she can be there with the guests and members while they wait for listeners.
At the same time we are also trying to reduce the wait time to under 2mins (Laura's post). Noni and this effort will surely work well to comfort many who just wait and leave before they can get some support. Watch out for more Noni enhancements.
The secret sauce for 7 Cups community is love and kindness. When people come together with a mission, they work wonders. And if the mission is as noble as helping the world, it is even more wonderful! If we all built a garden together it would turn out nice, if we are all avid gardeners driven by love to create something beautiful, you would get Eden. That is what we have built on 7 Cups!
The most mysterious thing to me is when we submit a form. There's often no feedback and it's rare to see a timely result.
Emergency group chat report, reporting someone breaking the rules in a chat, event not occurring as planned, suggestion box, and probably more. One hits submit and then there's silence.
@AffyAvo Thanks for bringing up this concern. We receive hundreds of suggestions and feedback every month. We have a team in place that is sorting these actively. The once that are most in demand get lined up first for implementation. There are some that are great but need a lot of resources and those are filed in for the future.
If you don't hear back it does not mean we don't check them. All your suggestions are most welcome and are safe with us. If you require a response, it is best to send a PM or an email. That ways we can respond immediately.
The most mysterious thing about 7Cups for me is ... the warmth of this place.
How people have such kindness for each other even tough the system is built in such a way that you might become really competitive. It makes me see that it challenges you to be better than you were yesterday, not better than someone else.
It fascinates me how this community is growing in these terms. Makes me hopeful of a better, more peaceful, world!
@cristiana33 That is very true. 7 Cups is the perfect example of anonymity for good. When there is so much online harrassment and bullying these days under the mask of anonymity, the 7 Cups community has shown that anonymity can actually do a lot of good if used responsibly.
To me, the most mysterious thing is that we can only give 10 compassion hearts to someone each day. There are such amazing, helpful, encouraging, funny and supportive people around that my appreciation just can't be shown with only 10 of them sometimes.
@crimsonPlum47 I hear you. However, we don't want them to seem spammy or for the receiver to feel they are being given these artifically. Hearts are subjective and too little for me could be too many for you. The limit is to make them extra special just like some precious currency that you give out only on special occasions.
The mysterious thing I feel is the number of guests who visits seven cups a day!Until I visited 7 cups,I never knew that this much of people are longing for someone to listen to them.Really amazing!
And each time i chat with someone,I feel like am helping them and that makes me feel alive!

The mysterious thing to me is how I've never stumbled across this before. I go through some emotional ups/downs and have often found myself looking for a place like this. I've found and signed up for some but I have yet to encounter something as uplifting as this. :)
I find it mysterious how people can make friends in the group chats! They confuse me so much haha, hardly anyone ever even talks to me in there! And there's always new people every time
@Seraphical I see what you are saying. Sometimes group rooms can be overwhelming with too many people talking at the same time. However, we have members who are regularly in the same chatrooms around the same time and they start to recognize each other. Its like going to a park everyday in the morning for a walk and eventually starting to recognize people and talking with them.
Maybe if you try finding someone with a common interest, you might find it easier to bond with them?
You can always seek help from a mod if you feel unheard at any time.
