Hi Glen! (aka O.G.) 😊❤️ Thank you so very much for this forum post. I have not once, seen the news yet for today. Thank you for letting the community know as well as me. I am hearing this from you for the first time now. This is incredibly sad news. I have always admired this woman. I think I might even be shocked at the moment. Like what?
I live in the United States but have admired her and greatly. I learned about her reasons for wearing certain pins (broche), placement and who was visiting her at the moment. She was quite crafty in making her thoughts be heard with out causing insult directly. She still found a way to express herself and be true to herself. I loved that about her!
I too send my condolences. This is a very hard time for the royal family, everyone in the U.K. and even difficult for others in the world that felt love in their heart for her. ❤️ She was strong, she was classy!
I loved learning about her, her life, her choices and reasoning for things. One of the things I had learned about her some time ago is that she requires the women in the royal family to wear incredibly light nail polish (nude to semi-nude). I learned that her favorite choice to wear is the Essie brand in the color "Ballet Slippers". Years ago, I went out and bought it. I was able to buy this at a local CVS (cheap and cheerful). She could have had the most expensive nail polish in the world but this was her favorite! I think it speaks volumes to her character, even for this!
I'll remember to do extra self care tomorrow and know that she would want for me to. I'll be painting my fingernails in her favorite color, "Ballet Slippers" in honor of her, thinking about her and how because of her choices, she made me feel like a princess and be like her in the only way I could. Good enough for her, good enough for me!

I love that your post title is simply "remembering the Queen". In a world where there are many Queens of different countries, I think that it is a testament to the impact her life has had on the world, that there is no need to say which Queen.

Saw terrible news of her majesty-Queen Elizabeth II"s demise today.
lets pray for her soul to rest in eternal peace.
I will always remember her as a kind,warm and inspirational monarch who was always smiling, and delivering great speeches for the world besides her exceptional leadership prowess.I recall one of her quote was--" Grief is the price we pay for love." She will be missed by millions of people all across the globe.
70 years... a monarch for many generations.

But even as a European I like to admire, that QE2 was a kind of "Rock" in the ups and downs of Brits history for 7 decades. - I remember well that as a child having visited U.K. for summer school to train my English skills (in the 70s around 1975) I had a hard stand as German boy together with all the other German kids. While travelling for sight seeing with public traffic ssytems, we had been called "Nazis". Now after nearby half a century ago, thats behind us. We all got neighbours, even against the new Brexit.
QE2 was cool kinda. Her daily drinks, her dogs, her horses, driving the Landrover ... and as official representative on the world stage of politics always in her unique same style with small handbag, gloves and fancy hat. It seemed she was a good listener ...
My condolences go to the Windsor family, all the Brits and the Commonwealth members. - The Queen is dead, long live the King Ch3.
Rest in peace your majestey Queen Elizabeth II, she was well beloved by many of us. It feels like as a nation we've lost our great granny who's always been there to nurture us and teach us many things.
For many of us, she is the only monarch we have known in our country so we enter this strange time of uncertainty, strangeness and confusion with a mixture of feelings. Whatever your opinion on the monarchy, this is certainly a sad time of the passing of such a prominant figure in our society.
