🔌Help Us Build the Ultimate No Screens Activity List!
Hi everyone! We all need a break from screens. Not just to rest our eyes, but to reconnect with ourselves, our surroundings, and the present moment. Our life is too tied to screens these days, to the point where we have forgotten how to exist for a second without them.
So here’s what we’re doing:
We’re creating a community-powered checklist of things you can do that require zero screen time. No phones. No laptops. No tablets. Just life, unfiltered.
Here are some example no-screen activities
🌿 Go for a walk
🖊 Journal your thoughts
📖 Read a physical book
🧩 Do a puzzle
🧹 Clean or organize a space
🕯 Sit in stillness with no agenda
Now it’s your turn.
List down at least 1 non screen activity (try to not recommend what is already covered by someone else) You can give as many ideas as you like!
Drop your idea in the comments and help us grow the Unplug Checklist, something we can all come back to when we need to power down!

I love this topic! I ride public transit to and from work, and almost everybody on the train is either staring at their phones, wearing headphones, or both. I try not to be on my phone just to give my eyes and brain a break, and I'll say that allowing myself to be bored on my commute can be good for reflection, relaxation, and imagination.
With that said, here are my suggestions:
- Write a fictional story (on paper)
- Study a foreign language (with a physical book)
- Deep clean your home
- Fill out a puzzle book
- Embroider
- Listen to records
- Invite your friends over for a home-cooked dinner
Also, savor a good meal or snack without looking at your phone or watching TV
I will say,
Organize the living space
Read a printed book / chapter
Go on a walk with your dog/ play with your cat
Play with someone ( I play with my niece and it helps me relax)
I do watercolor painting
Try and write a poem
Talk to your family ( if you have any around)
Try and go sightseeing or on a hike or a little picnic with at least one more person
Try a new altercation of an already familiar recipe that you know you love to eat
Try and do something that you did when you were little that used to make you feel so good ( I used to lay on a field of grass and go to sleep / feed little fishes that I find in lakes / feel puppies I found roadside) because nostalgia + action always brings me happiness
Meditate a little. Don’t have to do it the right way or for a long time just try to calm your mind
Do that one thing you’ve been postponing for a long time now. Take that call , clean that place , go to that salon and get that haircut.
Chat with a neighbour, outside. In my part of the world we're coming 'out of hibernation' ie. snow is gone until the next spring dump and on nice days people are happy to get out and enjoy the weather.
