We at 7 Cups stand in solidarity with our Black mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, friends, partners, and community against racism and oppression. To our community members who have been impacted by this, we see you and extend our deepest sympathy to you and your loved ones. Please know that 7 Cups is a safe space for you, and we will continue to do our best to ensure that our platform remains a solid foundation for the giving and receiving of support during this extremely challenging year. We are a community that is stronger together, and we will strive together to overcome these hard times.

If you are interested in helping through donations, I found a few reputable links to check out. There are many, many more, (and if you're in an area where protesting is happening, donating locally is a great idea) but feel free to drop any links you have in the replies!

Yeah, all lives matter. But right now, not all lives are being treated as poorly as the black lives in this country. I'm black, and I'm kind of scared. It shouldn't have to be this way. All men created equal? Yeah, but do people act like that? No. And it saddens me. When will all of this change? All lives matter, but right now, all lives are not my concern. (That sounded so crappy, I meant all lives aren't being as attacked as black lives). Black lives are my concern, and this nation isn't free until we're all free. Peace out✌🏾

@theycallmedj

Yes your scared, but as a white young female so am I. no one in this situation is being treated right anymore. what the cop did was wrong, but tearing up buildings and threatening white neighborhoods isnt right either. this is nothing towards you, this is just how i personally feel🤷🏻‍♀️

@goldyyyy1420 I feel this isn't being said enough. Two wrongs don't make a right. But moreover, the rioting and looting just tarnish even further the reputation of the black community, just give the cops the idea that blacks are indeed dangerous, and encourages more violence.

Another thing I've heard around the black community is that it doesn't look good when we protest in favor of someone who (though not deserving of murder) was nevertheless a convicted criminal who held up a pregnant woman at gunpoint :(

Yes, black lives do matter. Real insight on my opinion, and for everyone else to get an understanding onw hats going on. Not only did George Floyd get murdered for no reason, but so did MANY MANY black lives. We let this happen, and finally we made a stand. This is tha change. WE are the change. WE can make this right. Everyones life is critical no matter who they are, or the color of their skin. The color of their skin does NOT define them. I can't understand what your going through, but I stand with you, I mourn with you. Justice for YOU ALL.

George Floyd was a father, he was a man, he was a target.

Stand together for change, stand together for equality, stand together because no one else needs to lose their Black son or daughter to police brutality and systemic hate of a specific group of people.

I encourage peace, love and strength to make it through history in progress.

Be blessed y'all.

Racism is a scar in the history of humanity. The idea that someone is inherently superior to someone else is the source of an incredible amount of suffering. We need to fight that idea, and replace with the only truth that can make this world a happy place of freedom for everyone: that we are all equal.

As a white woman, I had the privilege of never having to face racial discrimination. I acknowledge my privlege and I'm aware of my responsibility to stand with my brothers and sister who are affected by racism. We'll never really be free unless everyone is equal. We owe it to George and all the other brothers and sisters who lost their life to racism, to those who live in fear and deserve to live in a better world.

To all the people who read this and are suffering because of racism: I am with you. Feel free to talk to me if you need to express your feelings, your voices are important and you deserve to be heard.

To everyone who is reading this: stand up against racism with us. Whether it's protesting, donating to charities, spreading knowledge and educating people to equality, you can make a difference and change the world. Let's do this together.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

i want to share my thoughts about the current situation .its heartbreaking to see america in this state right now. Even after all the knowledge people gained about racism, discrimination injustice still prevails. Everyone has their own rights to stand against them and make them realize that the world isnt owned by a particular caste, religion, colour etc. But making them realize this shouldnt be through violence . Many police stations are burned down, the city is in a worse condition, people living in the neighbourhood are getting traumatized about the damage. Some are looting the shops and taking advantage of this protest. These small businesses has worked so hard to earn money for a living but in return we take away their hard work.Poor people in the streets dont have a place to settle in anymore. We protesters should realize the fact that this isnt the right method to change the world's understanding . non violence is always the solution to bringing a change. i respect and thank everyone in america for protesting and standing against racial discrimination. Rest In Peace George Floyd.

@magicallyHorizon4011 it's also important to remember that the large majority of protests are peaceful (at least from the protesters' side...), they are not all the riots you see online. And even so, I know it sounds and looks awful for all the people affected, but property can be fixed, people can get back to normal, the community has been repeatedly coming together to support those affected. But lives cannot be fixed once they are taken, a change needs to happen because black lives need to matter. Human lives are infinitely more important than property. Also remember that many very big, important changes in the world happened because of protests and riots. I hope this is one of them too. If it takes protests and riots and burning buildings to make them pay attention and take this seriously and make a CHANGE, then that's what needs to be done.

Thank you @Heather225 for this much needed post!

It is incredibly painful to see how poorly and unfairly people are treated based on their race and skin color. Black lives most certainly matter and will continue to.

To feel heard, supported and accepted is the most fundamental human right and desire.

During these tough circumstances and times, it's more important to come in solidarity and support fellow human beings who are in pain for significant irreplaceable losses.

My heart goes out to Mr.George Floyd's family, friends and to every person who is deeply impacted by this disgusting, intentional and heinous act.

Black lives matter ❤️

May Mr.George Floyd's soul rest in peace and power.

In the recent events it's definitely scary and it hurts me to see innocent lives being taken I cannot imagine how much it is for those who have to undergo oppression on a day to day basis and have that fear in the back of their minds every day. It's not okay!! BLACK LIVES MATTER. Always and forever.

Hey, I hear you.
When you state ALL LIVES MATTER, I agree all do matter.

Then now what?

How are we to move ahead now?

I propose we handle the issue faced by the black lives then everyone else. We start at the top and work our way through all lives k.

Cool.
