Nov 10: Back 7 Cups/ Upgrade

We have been conceptualizing and building an update to 7 Cups over the past few weeks. This update has been outlined by @GlenM here. If you have not already, I encourage you read this post to learn more about this update.

@SpiritWolfie for the app will it also fix the notification issue? All my notifications are turned on but for some reason i'm not getting any of messages like i used to on my phone
@silentscreams - this bug is affecting me too. @ezraBC and I are trying to get to the bottom of it.
Right now I'm looking for anyone who is getting notifications on Android to let me know!

Hi there, thanks for tagging me, but I'm not a site staff, just a site listener who has tech and web master know how ^^;
All - just an update. You all have provided us a lot of feedback via the forums and PMs. I'm spending the weekend thinking deeply about it all. I also hear the request for greater transparency and the need to frame things better. I'll be working on some ideas that I'll review with the team on Monday. I'll post here in the afternoon with some updated ideas we can talk through.

My question is about the longer term vision (Business Model) for 7 Cups. I note that despite language that is suggestive of 7 Cups being a charity, it is not, rather it appears to be a start up business, backed by venture capital. Is sustainability the first step towards profitability and return on investment for funders and founders? I have no personal discomfort with entrepreneurial benefit from identification of a market gap, and a subsequent monetisation strategy for this. Personally I believe it to be possible whilst still holding true to values, vision and mission, but would ask for transparency please?
Question: Let's say I want to upgrade & donate an amount of money.
Will that amount be automatically removed from my bank account monthly? Or can I decide if I want to do it 1 month, 2 months or more? Cause I see there are some packages with a certain price but also the option of donating an x amount, but minimum 5 $
...

the donation format right now is for a recurring monthly donation (charged directly to a credit card or other payment method) that can of course also be canceled at any time.

I love all the updates that have happened and think everything is going so well, I look forward to the conference call, I think that will be fantastic.
I would like the ability to *back* 7 cups using paypal, I get charged by my bank for paying in US $, whilst it's a relatively nominal fee, it is more money I could be giving to sustaining the site instead of bad mean greedy bankers
