I'm uninstalling the app right now because I see no way of disabling notifications. It is a must to be configurable: right now it's buzzing me whenever I get a message, and I need that disabled.

@ShawnL

In your settings there is a checkbox you can uncheck so that you will not get push notificatoins of new messages.

Can you try unchecking that?

We don't want to pester you to the point you have to uninstall the app!

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn Where are the settings? It's unfortunately not setup like a normal Android app :( Is that because it's written with some other framework?

I used to do Android app development, so I'm familiar with those types of things. Thanks :)

@ShawnL - it's a hybrid app so some of it is native and some if it is not.

The settings are (temporarily, for legacy reasons) "hidden" in the Chat tab. Go to that tab and tap the gear in the upper left. This brings up a settings screen. You can uncheck push notifications there and save. You will get a "post error" but you can ignore that (a known bug but your change will save).

Let me know if that does not work.

Of course you can also go to your Android app notification settings to change what the 7 cups app is allowed to do in that context.

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn I'll give it a shot, thanks for the info!

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn I went into the settings page and there's nothing about push notifications on the page. It has Login Details and Email Preferences, and that's all.

@ShawnL - hmm, that's very odd. Let me figure out how that's even possible.

@baZzchik54 - they are being posted by linking to them on the web. so if the poster is on tumblr or facebook or pinterest or whatever you can grab the link from those sites and if it is your own image you can upload it to a free image hosting site (such as imgur or gyazo) and then get the link that way.

does this help?

All - we have a new version of the android app now available in the play store. It should address a number of the issues we cataloged here. Can you download and share if it has resolved any challenges you may have experienced earlier? Thank you for the help!

@GlenM less white screens, the loader icon is a nice addition, though here are a few unfixed things;

-Notifications in notifications

-No comments on reposts

-pictures not appearing in the feed

-Profiles opening in browser instead of the app

Thanks @Ace13, a few quick questions - how is load time compared with before? When you start the app is it significantly quicker than it was before? Are you still experiencing any white screens?

Thank you for pointing out these other challenges as well. We can address each of these items soon. Right now we really just want to get it so that it loads fast and doesn't have the white screen issue earlier described. Thanks again!

@GlenM For me at home it's as fast as it was (I think ahah) but on a slow network is a little bit better (like at school) and I don't have anymore white screen on a fast connection. However the tabs in another tab is still happening , earlier I was in Google drive on the 7Cups app! it was weird ahahah (like, the community tab was litteraly a Google drive tab now ahah)

All - we are looking for people to download the current version of the app on the play store and help test it. There are some people reporting that it still takes a very long time to load the app, especially if you are running other apps at the same time. If that is your experience, can you please email info@7cups.com with the subject line: Slow Android? If you are able, then we'll follow up with you via hangouts to try to fix the bug in real-time. Thank you for your help!

@GlenM does this count logging out/back in or only starting the app when you are already logged in by default?

@Ace13 for this it would just be loading the app once you are already logged in. Like how long does it take to land on the path page for either listener or member account once you are already logged in?

@GlenM I just tested a bit fast and from my listener account :

-when there is no other app running on fast connection: 5-6 seconds till growth path appear

-When there are other apps running: 9-13 seconds till growth path appear
