Very interesting topics you've created for these help guides and trainings.

Looking forward to complete them. Already have the young people of color done and it's been pretty great to get through that one. Awesome stuff guys!

Hello! I am very happy to see there are so many new tools for us! I am sure they will be helfull for several people!

I have some questions:
Why some specific guides gives us badges?
Is that for putting public what we are working on?
why some guides give a badge and some else don't?
Is that because working on some specific issues has more importance than working on other thing?
Is that for encouraging members to take some specific trainings, no matter if they are related to their condition or not?
I don't know. I wonder, really, and I hope getting answers to those!

In my opinion,
I think for talking about "Personal Growth Tool Badges", we should be encourage to read the guides, but those specific at our condition, and not "all of them" or "some specific ones, related or not to our condition".

Then, for the badges, for members, I seriously believe to put a badge after a number of trainings completed and not specify on some trainings. because our personal progression is something specific to the person.
An other reason to it, is because I should not have to show publicly on my profile, that I have a specific issue and I have read those guides...

I think that is normal for listeners to show "their trainings followed" for better help members, but that is not normal for members to show to everybody what issues they have and are working on. all as a professional can put this diplomas public, but a client does not have to show publicly what issues they are working with a professional.

Again, that is only my opinion, but because I have read the guides which are interesting for my condition, and they are now visible on my profile, and that i don't want people know my specific problems, i am going to read those unrelated to my condition for breaking the evidence....

Good feedback, and thanks for spelling it out.

I'll tag @laura & @twish to remind us all to discuss next week.

@TortueDesBois - Thanks for pointing this out. I agree that some badges may not be the most comfortable to display on member profiles. Whereas, some may be great because they denote achievement and compassion. We have a few options here to manage this -
1- Collate the help guide badges into number badges, eg, help guides 1, help guides 2
2- Hide the self help badges selectively by default
3- Give an option to hide/unhide the help guide badges
Interested to know what others think :)

I do think that the guides should be read as needed, and I do not believe that should specify which guides the member has followed or has to follow for getting them, is the best option, regardless of the way you use to hide it.

But there could be some badges for following a number of guides. by example for completing a first guide, and then after a number of guides (ex "for reading 5 guides") as there are badges on quantity on other things (number of reviews, forum upvote, chats, listeners you connected to, etc). which is more adapted to our own progression... but that is only my opinion.

we all deal with different issues and have different needs and should be encouraged to read the more useful for us.

Or maybe we could just add the number of guides read on our profile with the other stats already present?

@Laura

I want to bring up an important point.. Members get specific badges for these guides in particular, but it's kind of giving a lot of exposure to their self-growth journey. For example, say someone was particularly interested in "Managing Bipolar" -- it might actually be very damaging to have that badge because others might assume/know what they are struggling with. In order to avoid that, they'd have to do all the guides and not just the ones that are specific to them. Is it possible to change the badges so that it's only "Number of Guides completed" as opposed to which guides they've done?

Lee.

@ItsLee that is a good point! I think that solution could help in that case :D

Good point, @itslee - I think @tortuedesbois said more or less the same. inportant feedback for us to hear. I'm sure we can address this.
