Hooray!

New mindfulness exercises have been added to the member growth path & to the "self-help" tab located on the top bar of your 7 Cups dashboard! You can find them here!

We are very excited! Enjoy!

Just out of interest...

On the menu, it says "Mindfulness is a proven technique to help you feel at peace." I'm familiar with some of this research... but are any of the guided meditations here specifically supported by research?

How were they chosen?

I like these, but I wish there was more information about each one, especially now with so many.

I do not find it relaxing when some of my allergens are mentioned and I'm already struggling with severe itchiness. I imagine some have preferences for masculine vs feminine voices, music vs none, etc.

Thank you for the new exercises, 7COT!

Yesterday I tried "Heal Your Inner Child" exercise. At first it was kinda easy for me to visualize the garden and all beautiful surroundings and to visualize my younger self enter the garden. But when the exercise told me to tell the child about me healing her wounds, embrace her, praise her etc, I cried uncontrollably. It was too emotional for me. I tried to stay focus and mindful, but I couldn't stop crying until the child leave the garden. When the time is over, I felt weird and speechless for a few minutes. Is it normal?? Or am I doing it wrong?

@wanttohaveabigheart

While I don't know if there is a right or wrong way to experience these things, I will say that I have experienced something similar w/ a different meditation. The task was to tell my spiritual guide everything that I was struggling with, and to physically hand over my stress to her. I sobbed for an hour. While it felt very disarming to me, ultimately the feeling of peace replaced the vulnerability. It felt very odd to be moved to tears over such a thing, but I just tried to let myself feel whatever came of and tried to be ok with those feelings.

@Athena86 - Yes it felt very odd..I thought it was just me x) I used to do mindful breathing or body scan meditation, nothing else. This one is new to me, and it was very uncomfort to be vulnerable at that moment. I think I'll give it another try and let myself feel the emotions and try to be ok with it.

Thank you Athena for sharing! <3

This would be the best update in the website. I always wanted to share such excercies with the Member but could not do so thinking it may lead to negative reviews or advices.

Amazing work done .... Thumps up and fingers crossed :)

This is really awesome! Thank you so much for that, guys!

Do you think it would be possible to make these resources downloadable, so that one could use it offline? In situations while not in front of the computer, e.g. while taking a walk in the forest or the mountains?

I really like this idea of being able to download them. Especially on the app, I think it would be very useful to have certain resources available offline!
