Site Design Updates Live Now
Hi everyone,
We have updated our site design templates to make sure they are up to date. This site update will only be available on the web versions so you may notice several changes in how everything looks!
One key change with the design templates is our General Request queue for listeners - we have switched to yellow instead of red for the banner color for a higher chat request count.
@SoulfullyAButterfly I think you should review this update because right now the site looks Very bad.
i cant change my listener settings to online or busy because the chat request banner covers it, does anyone else have this issue?
Hey @smilingsunset, this is one thing I don't see an issue with *phew*, the listener settings open up when you click on your profile picture, it's a drop down menu and you can switch your status there. 😊
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou its an issue for me, heres a screenshot. you can see that right below the logout where the offline/online icons are supposed to be is cut off

@smilingsunset Oh I see, are you on the mobile browser? Website?
Maybe try using the desktop mode if it helps in scrolling down a bit, to see the status buttons, without the chat requests banner covering your screen space?
If you're needing to change status on an immediate basis, you can try using the app for it.
Hopefully if it resolves for you soon. :)
Unfortunately I am still not able to change my text color, but other than that I appreciate the fact that the yellow banner was fixed / changed to blue, the Country flags are back, and the statuses are showing up again. Keep up the good work!
@SoulfullyAButterfly In my case, due to update, I am unable to scroll, the moment I scroll that chat requests collapses
@SoulfullyAButterfly - I am a professional Graphic Designer.
These are my critiques and comments I have heard from others.
1. The colors blue and yellow are too bright and intense. In design terms, the contrast between the 2 colors vibrate. I suggest a pale pastel version of yellow and blue colors.
2. People would like the Support Heart to be Red not Blue.
3. For years people have been requesting a Dark Mode. The white background is too bright for most people. There used to be a thread about how to inject some CSS code into one's browser, but it was too techie and difficult to enable Dark Mode.

Proposed Changes
@Positron2
So will the android phone version be redesigned as the bell has moved to a place where you can't see all the alert wording and the delete cross?
@lazyKatz- I am not involved in making changes to the site.
I just offered constructive design comments
I have to admit as a member I kind of liked not having the dot to announce whether I was here or not. I was excited to see it wasn't there yesterday. Because we as member's should also have the ability to hide our availability because some listener's seem to pounce on as as soon as they see we're online or they get upset because we're online and not talking with them. If the listener's can hide behind their red dots I think the member's should have the same. I've had trouble because of the dot and now I notice it's even more noticeable! Some listener's do respect the member's enough to not pounce or they might make a gentle inquiry about how you're doing and are comfortable enough to not get upset if you don't reply but then other listeners not so much. Just want to put that out there too.
I have no right to say. But, the recent conversation menu it feels wired. although we do need all the name on it. but, I don't understand. it is useful very much, but not very functional. Please excuse my language.
Reading through the comments, one can tell the frustrations this "upgrade" has caused.
It is already a long process to learn how to navigate this website and then - poof! - changes are implemented and we have to get used to the new bells and whistles.
We are often polled about what we would like to have in order to easily navigate on this website and I wonder if your developers have taken those suggestions into account.
It must be disappointing to have worked on what developers thought was an amelioration and read that us members and listeners are generally unhappy instead of being thankful.
@SoulfullyAButterfly I am liking the change. It is much crisper and a cleaner website. It is more professional looking.
@SoulfullyAButterfly
Can you please explain the 35+ and other communities when we make a post now where is it because I posted a few things and can't find them with the new layout design?
Hey @Havingfuninthesnow, do you mean replying to others' threads or making your own in the sub communities?
You can always find your own threads in the My Forum Threads when you click on your profile picture, it's one of the options in the menu available. You may also find the threads you've subscribed to in this page.
For other threads, it may help to use the keyword-search space in the forums. May take lots of scrolling and time to find the exact threads this way though.
So if you remember the sub community a particular thread was in, you can filter the "topics" where it may be located, for instance some light-hearted/ ice breaker in the "ice breaker" topic in a sub community. (They've renamed "sub forums" as "topics" now)
This and this post might be useful as well.
I hope this helps somewhat! The recent updates have certainly been hard to navigate or even make sense of, I feel ya! ❤

Thanks however this is very overwhelming and confusing. Not sure why they would just confuse us like this.
