World Education Day - January 24th, 2023
Hello to all!
International Day of Education, as its 5th year, the theme for 2023 is "to invest in people, prioritize education". For those who have the privilege of having education, you must cherish your time in learning. There are many countries in poverty and do not have any resources to provide education for the young. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn.

The best person to look at who promotes education for the countries in poverty, is Siwon Choi. For those who don't know who he is, he is one of the members of Super Junior, a Korean group. He is also the Regional Ambassador for Unicef for East Asia and Pacific. As an ambassador, he has given speeches and visited countries in poverty, built homes and schools for the young children there and bringing hope for a better life for them.
*At one point, I had dreamed of taking a course that will allow me to teach English in foreign countries. Whether that be in those countries that lack education, or just any foreign country. Due to a sudden financial struggle on my end, I'm no longer sure if this dream will ever be achieved. I have finished a Certificate-level program though, but still need to finish a part 2 to receive the full Diploma.*

You may or may not currently studying as a student, even for those who are working, must've gone through with education to get to where you are now. What are all your thoughts on education?

This is a great reminder. As a student, it’s easy to forget how much of a privilege access to education can be. I actually am familiar with Siwon Choi, as I watch a lot of Korean entertainment. I didn’t know he was a Regional Ambassador for Unicef though! Thanks for reminding us all of the importance of education and to remember to have gratitude towards it. 💜

I think sometimes it is so easy for us to take Education for granted, and we forget that it doesn't always have to be academic!!
It's so nice to see days like this where we can truly celebrate how lucky we are. I wasn't a massive fan of studying but love being part of education now and making a difference to other peoples' lives <3

My dream of wanting to teach English in a foreign country, I think it will be forever at the back of my mind. Maybe as soon as I'm more financially stable, I'd like to use what I learned to teach others who are in need. I've actually have a place I want to apply in mind, but I just don't know if the place would still need someone like me after a few years have passed.

I strongly believe that we must educate ourselves regardless of age.
Nobody is old or young enough to gain knowledge.

Agreed. We need to continue to learn throughout our lives, even when we've reached senior age. Otherwise, life would be boring if there's nothing new to be interested in.
