What can I do when I’m feeling discouraged, and like I’m a failure? Where can I find ways to get closer to God and improve my life?

@lily1215 it's not always easy to keep the faith when bad things happen to us or when we question out self worth, bless you 🙁 but remember God loves you no matter what💖 when I need to feel closer to God all I have to do is look around, the sky the coulors, a bird a tree, music, light we are surrounded by God's beauty💖 take a moment to think of 3 things your thankful for, God is all around us and he sees you💖 just try talking to him and always hold onto hope 💖 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗 and remember we are all here for you to 💖

I am so sorry you are feeling that way. I connect to God a lot through music and sometimes just listening to hymns or Christian music when I am struggling helps me a lot. I would really recommend listening to Jireh by Elevation and Maverick City Worship. Some of the most powerful lyrics for me out of that song are "I'll never be more loved than I am right now/Wasn't holding You up/So there's nothing I can do to let You down." God loves you

@lily1215.  There are spiritual, or Christian, therapists in the 7cups list if you want to talk with them in this app.  Also if you go to a chat you can click on "more filters" and click the religion of the listener if you want to talk about things about your faith with someone who has the same experiences of faith. It's good to talk with a person, I'm glad 7cups exists to give free options to talk with someone.

From my experience in moments of fear, anxiety, failure and loneliness, I got closer to God through silence and getting rid of my negative thoughts, and these days I am trying that... and participating in volunteer work to help others who need the same thing I need.. Now I need support and friends, so I supported my neighbor and people in the market. I felt comfortable and close to God because I believe that we are here on earth to support each other...

@lily1215 There's several things one c’n do I've even done it myself.

1. Chat back to those negatives Ya say About yer self while giving a positive comment.

2. visit in a church sitting there during holy hour.

3. Pray da rosary an fine deep inner peace. Da popped may still be there but da peace one gets from reciting da rosary becomes lighter.

4. Find a church dat neither a priest or nun offers spiritual direction individually which is often done by donation of what one c’n afford or for free to help Ya know him better. Da more Ya know him who he really is Ya will start seein’ his presence in yer life. If unable to find Spiritual guidance anywhere then ask to Chat to a priest sometimes even a priest will offer to see Ya on a weekly basis.

5. Go to mass regularly.

6.7 study both da catechism an da bible in a year both are done daily wit Fr. Mike Schmitz it starts from Day 1 all da way till last day in December then repeats da following year its on YouTube: ahttps://youtu.be/BW0gXbEVYgA?feature=shared as well as da audacy app an apples podcast an the ascension press app. Also YouTube https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fr.+mike+schmitz+catechism+in+a+year

da bible study in a year also wit Fr. Mike Schmitz on YouTube: https://youtu.be/N3QXbsu-7aQ?feature=shared an like da bible in a year c’n also be found on da audacy app, apple podcast an da ascension press app. an also YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fr+mike+schmitz+bible+in+a+year

7. Theres another priest dat c’n only be found on YouTube; Fr. Chris Alar who exprlains da faith in much detail: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=divine+mercy+father+chris+alar+explaining+the+faith

8. Apple had recently put out a new app which is Journal if Ya dont have a journal app on yer android then get a notebook an write to him. I found it difficult to Chat hi silently an at first it was a little difficult writing to him even 2 lines but now sometimes I neither write 1 paragraph or several paragraphs.

Usin’ these tools help me be more aware of his presence as well as help me be more prayful etc.

@lily1215 I'm sorry to hear you're doing through a rough patch. This is something all believers go through and can be an opportunity to grow. Being a Christian does not mean a smooth ride through life like it feels like it should. Sometimes it could be a little nudge towards re-enhancing your relationship with Christ. I get these feelings at times and find great comfort in reading from the Book of Psalms. As well as re-reading the Book of John. If you ever need to chat with a Christian listener in a 100% judgement free space welcome to ALL feel free to message me. And to always have with you here's the Bible Emergency Numbers. Notice how often Psalms is a reference. Great things for many troubles in life in the Psalter. Peace be with you.

@lily1215

Feeling discouraged can be heavy, but sometimes letting yourself be a little indulgent in care—really noticing what soothes you, can be surprisingly powerful. A warm bath, soft music, or even a moment alone where you stretch and feel your body move can help ground you before tackling bigger questions.

As for connecting with something greater, it doesn’t always have to be formal. Quiet moments, reflective journaling, or even whispering your thoughts into the night can feel intimate and personal, like a secret between you and the universe. How do you usually like to spend your quiet, alone time?
