Seeking Help
Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.

I got back into painting after having my daughter to “feel like myself again”. It was therapeutic to just do art and also nice to meet people with little to no expectations.
As I’m quite good at it, it kinda spiralled into me getting into exhibitions and doing art fairs and eventually it got too exhausting for me despite it being a great year of growth.
I’m pondering at what point does “therapeutic” start becoming “stress” even if it’s a good kind of stress.
I do a few different creative things. They help me relax and feel calmer. :)

I draw a lot! It makes me feel productive <3
@amiablePeace77 Do you engage in any kind of creative arts on a regular basis? The most creative thing I do in winter is creative snow shoveling! I have raised it to an art form! :D
How does it help you?
Keeps me exercising and a sense of humor.
@soulsings
Wow, snow art! Have you considered creating a snowman? 😄
@amiablePeace77 yes I need a snow couple !

Always plenty of hobbies here, some of which paid off: music, debate, sewing and needlework, watercolours, some elaborate cooking and pastry. I also enjoyed paid work very much, possibly because social skills, problem-solving and creativity were involved. And then, there is sudoku and crosswords.
Other hobbies were about enjoying someone else's creativity - so books, art galleries, concerts and the likes.
I always enjoyed a good project or a new piece of music. It often helped me communicate, boosted my social life and self-worth and it was through music ( 😃 and debate!) that I found my husband.

If you’re not engaging in any kind of creative arts, what would be something that you would be interested in exploring?
@Fradiga
Music is a wonderful tool to support our well-being, in my opinion. It's so sweet that it helped you too to find your husband! 😊

He and I were playing at the same Irish music jam sessions for a few years until he finally decided to introduce himself However, his accordion being too loud and my harp not loud enough, I preferred to sit among the fiddles or mandolins.

Do you engage in any kind of creative arts on a regular basis? How does it help you?
Yes I most certainly do. Writing, drawing are the ones I engage in everyday. They help me express myself, what I’m thinking or feeling, etc.
If you’re not engaging in any kind of creative arts, what would be something that you would be interested in exploring?
If I wasn’t engaged in creative arts, writing and drawing would be the most likely ones I would be most interested in exploring.

Do you engage in any kind of creative arts on a regular basis? How does it help you?
Um, not really.
If you’re not engaging in any kind of creative arts, what would be something that you would be interested in exploring?
I used to be a creative freak. I had learnt and done it all- sculpting, sketching, drawing, painting, henna, paper quilling, making flowers out of fabric, etc. I would now be interested in exploring pressed flowers or resin art.
@amiablePeace77
I regularly write gratitudes. It helps me feel the beauty and internalize it.
I used to doodle and make art journal. Now it's less, but yesterday I doodled while listening to an audio. It felt really good.
