I am happy that there is a time of year that celebrates giving to others. I try to make that part of my life at different times of the year also.
@amiablePeace77
Beyond planning the food, it's cleaning and setting up pines branches and holly from the yard. I gave away all my Xmas decorations when I moved from Canada to someone who was really happy to receive it. Most gifts are bought already and I have a few more if there are surprise guests.
Then, it is the double foot massage at the end of the 25th, of course.
@Fradiga sounds wonderful.
Do you do your own foot massage or swap with someone else?
@soulsings
I used to get it done by one of my sons or a BF when I had one. No, I do not return the favour because I am finally sitting down at the end of the 25th of December. However, I have now bought a foot massage machine. I use it and..... lend it. 😀
While in Japan long ago, I did learn how to knead shoulders, backs, feet and all that and I was able to use this knowledge on family (passed it on to my sons) and friends, and now my grandson.
@Fradiga that sounds wonderful.
I used to do some reflexology and found relief from minor aches and pains. My feet and hands enjoy self massage. They seem to know what to do.

This is a great thread! The entire build-up to Christmas is my favourite part of Christmas! I love baking with my family and decorating the home together. We also have an elf that visits us each year and he provides a lot of entertainment for my children. I love the lights at Christmas. We are also donating to our local food bank and getting involved in toy donations for those who need it.
Ami, what is your favourite part of the build-up to Christmas?

Nice that your whole family participated in the Christmas activities. I love when the whole house smells from Christmas spices when baking, mmm - and you got an elf too visiting you?! Wow, it must be so exciting for your kids and I guess for molly too! It's nice of you to donate what you can, so others can get a pleasant surprise on Christmas too.
Although there were times I did not enjoy the Christmas time today I love to put out decorations and watch baking videos on youtube (and of course to try them out) 😀. As a tradition I will always go to the city just before Christmas and give a little gift to any homeless person I see.
